For the past month and a half my mother has been staying at Plumtree rehabilitation hospital to…read morerecoup from hip surgery. This facility excels in every respect. To start with on the very first day that we arrived she was assigned a bed that was not next to a window. That day I asked for a bed next to a window and within half an hour, the room was found, and my mother was transferred. Kudos to the social services and director's office for their diligence and dedication to ensure the patient's happiness. The true angels of this hospital are the nursing assistants who help the patient in every aspect of daily living. They are there in the morning with a smile on their face to clean the patients up if at night they have had an accident in bed. They do the job with kindness and compassion respecting the patient's dignity, and realizing that they might be feeling embarrassed at the situation. These angels bring the breakfast, and are there to shower the patients with kindness and care. They perform innumerable daily requests from the patients with care and a smile. Kudos to all of them. I wish I could remember everyone's name that has served my mother with such care and kindness. I dare not name anyone as I don't want to leave any of them out . THEY ARE ALL WONDERFUL. Thank you to all the PT and OT professionals who work so diligently to help their patients to improve and to eventually get home. Noah, Ashley, Vincent, Joy and many many others. Thank you to all the nurses for their kindness, smiles, compassion and care with the medications and uplifting the resident' spirit. Ashlyn, Jessica and Miguel and the night nurses whom I have not learned the names of. A great big kudos to the nutritional staff. The food is nutritious and delicious. They are willing to accommodate any requests, whether a whim or a necessity within the dietary standards of the particular patient. I am sure that I have left out many many members of the staff, but however, this place would not be what it is without each and every member contributing.

Care was good. Food good. It was just too crowded and noisy. People were very nice to me but I…read morecouldn't get any sleep there.

And not A+, but A++++++!!!. The entire staff here from case managers, admin, PT's, Speech therapists, OT's, the cleaning crew and everyone else had such an excellent positive vibe it was like heaven on Earth! You all made it a happier a place than Disneyland in my books! Quite often I'd hear the Los Gatos Acute Rehab staff talking to other patients, and the LOVE, KINDNESS and CARE that was they showed left me super-impressed! I talked to other family members (visiting) and they said the exact same thing and felt the same way!! You're all super amazing (life Hero's and Heroine's I would say)!! There were times I was so 'touched' by everyones kindness to my Dad (and others too) that I had to hold back my tears (I'm pretty emotional, especially when it comes to human kindness). Thank you for making this World a much much happier place using your skills, your education, your time and above all - your beautiful hearts!!

Did you take the time to notice that most of those who give this location a positive review are…read morefamily members and not the actual residents. As a resident I will agrée that as individuals the staff is made up many wonderful people who are very caring and possess an incredible amount of Patience! Especially when considering how overworked and underpaid they are. As a result there's a high turnover. My issues were with the administration and, or, administrative staff and their policies. I missed an appointment with my neurosurgeon because social services failed to make Transportation arrangements as a promised they would do. The on staff doctor assured me that he would make a girl to a local neurosurgeon for me and I never heard that word from him again don't matter. I express the desire to apply for IHSS home Care service for whenever it will be released that never happened. In fact everything they told me they would do they didn't including sending my prescription information to the Walgreens I requested they send them to. Nurse assured me that she had already done it as I was leaving it's true down to be completely false. The beautiful swimming pool for physical therapy was one of the main attractions to me to choose this location come to find out it is only available for outpatient physical therapy and hasn't been filled with water since covid 19 in 2022.

There were bilingual, multi-identity medical staff that made sure that all or any patients were cared for. As the caregiver and son, the center kept in consistent communication with me about my mother's health and care plans. The center hosts inclusive and accessible events for patients, I appreciate how the center prioritizes cultural identity in staff and patients. The visiting hours were easy to come in-and-out, and enough space to have patients relax outside or in common spaces. I would like to personally shoutout the medical professionals: Michelle, Darren, Cat, Patricia, Thanh, Catherine, Elijah, Stella Director of Nursing, Jerome Director of Therapy, Navya My mother has been satisfied and incredibly grateful for her medical treatment, and hopes the medical care staff deserves their recognition.

I am recently home after a two week stay following surgery for a broken femur. I think I will…read morebreak down my review by area, as the rating is very different according to what was going on. PT and OT: Excellent!! 5 stars. I can't say enough good things about them. You don't always get the same one day to day, but it really didn't matter. They are wonderful . Facility: The rooms are kept fairly clean, with staff sweeping, mopping and emptying the trash twice a day. However, it's obvious that the owners don't really care about fixing minor issues. The pull for the light switch over my bed was broken, so someone had rolled plastic bags into a rope and secured it to the end. The curtain that separated my bed from my roommate's didn't go all the way to the end of the wall, as it wasn't attached to the rings. Not too much of a problem except when I had graduated to using a commode, which was on that side of the bed. I felt a little exposed. One of the ice machines was broken the entire length of my stay, and I was told it hadn't been working for some time before that. So sometimes you were able to get an ice pack to put on the incision and sometimes you weren't. Care Nurses: Most are kind and caring, only one or two that weren't. I was surprised that they aren't taught to greet you when they come into your room. If I'd pulled the call cord, they would come in and just say, "You called?" Not much warmth. And they seemed woefully understaffed. Not ONCE in 2 weeks did a CNA offer to wash my hands, and there was no hand sanitizer within reach. After a week, one of them wiped me down with a damp towel, no soap. I had my husband bring me wipes which I used. I also was surprised at the lack of training that they had regarding moving my body for a diaper change. You need to roll onto your side, so the diaper can be placed under you. At first, they would push on the surgical incisions on my hip and thigh, causing me to scream in pain. I ended up showing each CNA the pictures from the x-rays of the break, to hopefully get them to be more careful. By the end of the 2 weeks, I had them trained. Mostly they came pretty quickly when I called for a change; however, twice I had to wait an hour after a bowel movement. And of course if you then pee during the wait? Messy. I was told my CNA was with another patient. Fine, but there were staff talking and laughing the whole time in the corridor. Get one of them to help out. RNs: Mostly caring, some concern, but they sure aren't warm and fuzzy. There seemed to be a breakdown in communication sometimes between the nurses and doctors, and between shifts. Eye drops were scheduled 2x day for scratch in eye. First day yes, then for 5 days nothing. I had my own eyedrops which I used, although they weren't the medicated kind I was supposed to be getting. Pain meds were to be every 6 hours. Sometimes it took 7-7 1/2. Once I was told I didn't have anymore by an aide, then the nurse came back from lunch and said sorry, my fault. The meds that I normally take daily at home were also on my schedule. Sometimes I got them, sometimes I didn't. I finally had my husband bring them from home and took them myself. I had both a heat rash, and a rash brought on by an allergy to the adhesive in bandages. When I asked, some action was taken, but it didn't become a part of the routine. No one asked about it, and I had to keep requesting the cream. Food: Ugh. Very little fresh fruit, overcooked vegetables, and most everything looked extremely unappealing. Friends and family would take turns bringing me lunch, which was usually enough to have half for dinner too. The kitchen was shut down for at least 2 days for a health issue. They set up in the courtyard and served hard boiled eggs and plain bread for dinner and breakfast. Noise: It's hard enough to get sleep when you are in pain from surgery, and I am glad they would come in when it was time for my meds, but the noise level at night was unbearable. It seemed like the staff were standing near the doorway laughing and talking-like a party was going on. Many nights a patient would call out "Shut up". I got noise canceling headphones with a white noise app on my phone, and that helped. I would certainly never go there again, or let any of the family.
