I was worried at first because I have a child that is in SPED. However, SDA genuinely cares about its students and has exceeded even my highest expectations. The academic rigor is exceptional, they teach a full grade level ahead and although I was initially concerned about my children's transition, the school's dedicated staff provided the support they needed to thrive. They've not only caught up but are now excelling. I am truly grateful to have SDA as an educational option for my children.

I was told by shannon that they tested the boy and he had behavioral problems. She stated they informed the parents but the parents didn't want to do anything about it and were in denial. I asked her if they do anything about it like kick the children out. she said that they don't do that but they try to work with the parents and get counselors in. But that never happened. My son started to get restless in the three year old so I asked shannon to put him in with the 5. He had already learned everything and needed to be more challenged. She did put him in with the 5 year olds and he did great for some time. But then one day they sent that child into the room with my son and that child stabbed my son with a pencil in the forehead. I had told Shannon that this is causing a big problem and that my son is starting to be aggressive at home. I told her she did not fix it that I would contact the board on them. She apologized profusely and advised that she would make sure it wouldn't happen again. I have also found out from other teachers that if shannon has anything against the parent, she will pick on the child. And if the child says something to the parent she plays it off like Oh they're being kids and it's their fault. I am so glad we moved away and had to leave the school. Never again.

His IEP was never formally gone through with me. Less then 24 hrs notice for things like, bring a pink treat day or send in donations for making gingerbread houses. His speech therapist mishandled his IEP several times. On the day we withdrew him I brought in thank you cards for the teachers and was told his speech therapist no longer works there. No one thought to tell me. Crazy mismanaged school. But good heart. If you have a preschool kiddo getting an IEP know that you also have an option to get funding straight from the state via ESA's. You can use that on therapies for them. I hate hate hate redirecting funds from public school but I have to do what's best for my 4 year old who wasn't getting the care he was entitled to.

The school has sooo many different fun days like pink day Green Day blue day it's just amazing how much they put toward education; and making it fun! My kid always comes home happy and saying he had fun! If your child is having a not so well day they still take the time to give your child that extra time to feel better or behave. The school is very secure and safe you need a passcode to enter the front gates during school hours! During the morning and dismissals there are numerous staff members standing outside so all eyes are on your children. There's been times where I was standing outside the gate and my kid ran out the gate to hug me and as soon as he got to the gate exit they grabbed him so fast then realized I was standing there BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL to know that they are watching the kids every move and they are so quick! YOU ACTUALLY SEE WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR MONTHLY! We went to numerous schools visiting but when we got here I KNEW THIS WAS IT!! Band, theater, choir, orchestra, chess, robotics, ballet, sports, STEM, to name a few. Junior high students can choose from many electives, such as forensic science, anatomy and physiology, personal finance, sewing, improvisation, screen writing, and many, many others! The teachers are exceptional and truly care about the success of EACH and every student. My older children are academically doing well, and were challenged by SMB's curriculum. They are now succeeding in a Catholic high school. My younger children struggled to return to grade level after Covid-19 quarantine (SMB returned to in-person option in Aug of 2020, thank goodness!) The teachers and support staff dedicated much time to getting my children back up to par. I was touched! The school has math and reading specialists and a counselor present on campus. The students practice the sacraments regularly; they attend mass at least weekly, as well as regular confession and adoration. Priests can be seen regularly attending morning prayer, and the sisters are employees of the school as teachers, school nurse and playground monitors. I love having religious priests and nuns present daily in the students' school day. The principal is a phenomenal leader! Lastly, the parent community is unbeatable; very supportive of each other and prays for the students, staff and each other with weekly rosaries and monthly adoration, and bible studies. It is worth your time to visit this school in person. You will be blown away!
