Specialty chocolates twice a year for as long as I can remember! LOVE THIS! I grew up in Northwest Indiana. My parents still live there. I have actually never visited this shop BUT I have EATEN these homemade gourmet chocolates for YEARS! My father drives here every Valentine's Day in February & every Sweetest Day in October to gets chocolates for my mother and I. As a little girl I always got a variety heart box full of a mixtures of surprises. It was delicious! My mom always got the dark chocolate covered orange peels and loved those. As I got older, I began sneaking into my mom's chocolates box as mine were always finished in less than 24 hours. Today is no different! Wherever I live today, my dad still even MAILS me my favorite chocolates from here. Those chocolate covered orange peels always rock my world! I rate this place 5 stars for years of incredible chocolates. Fannie Mae and all those heart boxes at grocery stores have no comparison to my palate! I am actually a sugary sweets kinda girl, but THESE chocolates I will devour every single time. Year after year I continue to gobble these all up and hide them in the back of my fridge from myself to TRY to save some for tomorrow. I can't because they are way too delicious! If you want to gift a female of any age chocolates, I have been a fan of these chocolates for years. They are homemade and have NEVER disappointed! By the way, I am a big fan of Trader Joe's. For a long while now, friends and family have urged me to visit any Aldi location. They said that I was in for a surprise? In my head, Aldi is/was a place people on very tight budgets went to for a squeezing of additional savings from grocery shopping. Did I ever go to an Aldi before? Yes, and to be honest I was not overly impressed. Therefore, I did not return. Was I surprised by my recent visit? Most definitely yes, the produce was very fresh. The meats I purchased and put on the grill were very good. What? Prociutto, charcuteria, fresh seafood for sale? But my biggest surprise was the wine section that did not exist before. One of my first thoughts was, "Are Trader Joe's wine buyers also picking the wine in all Aldi stores?" I glanced over the selection and of course did not see any very large wineries represented in the offerings? So I took a gamble and chose some of the better wine regions around the world and the grapes that most notably put them on every wine connoisseur's list (Argentina-Malbec, New Zealand-Sauvignon Blanc, California-Pinot Noir, Italy-Sangiovese, ...). Did my gamble pay off? Yes, each bottle that I purchased was excellent and probably would have cost me a whole lot more anywhere else for the same quality. As a result, this particular Aldi that I visited, hands down, now has the best wine selection for this particular area. Most grocery and liquor stores in this general area have a horrible wine selection. As a result of my new found revelations, Aldi is now on my short list of grocery stores that I shop at. Just thought I would pass on this nice tip for those still not in the know about the new and vastly improved Aldi!
