A cool place indeed. It was nice seeing all the children playing together and having a great time. A few feet away there's a wrestling ring which was a hit with my family. Their inner WWE personalities came out and funny to watch. read more

Danish parks are perfect and Superkilen is no exception. Unique benches, playgrounds and trails, Superkilen incorporates aspects from the diverse neighborhood it's in. For example, there's a fountain inspired by Morocco. They also have areas for skateboarders, bicyclists, etc. If you love design, this one photographs well with quirky lines painted on the ground. read more

I was so let down by this placed. I saw it on Somebody Feed Phil and thought it looked cool, but we got there and it was filthy. Garbage was everywhere. Equipment seemed to be falling apart. It was "international" sure, but everyone was very siloed off in their own areas. It's deep into Nørreboro, so if you're down south where everything else is, don't feel like you need to make the schlep into this random area. read more

Per an architect's recommendation, I decided to visit this urban park in Norrebro. Having spent the first two days in the downtown Copenhagen area, I wanted to get outside of the touristy/hotspot destinations and see how typical residents live. A little background: The premise of this urban park is to promote cultural diversity and awareness in a neighborhood where a majority of Copenhagen's minorities inhabit. Denmark is a racially and culturally homogeneous society that has recently open its borders to immigrants around the world. Because of this, Denmark is making attempts to not only integrate immigrants into Danish society but also foster cohabitation amongst people of different backgrounds. Walking through the park, I could not help but feel emotionally connected to the minority experience. As an Asian American, I would imagine that if my family had immigrated to Copenhagen we would be living in this neighborhood. Seeing pedestrians casually stroll along, people biking on the paved paths, and children playing in the jungle gyms was soothing. As a public space, it brings together people from all over and makes you realize that we're all similar beings. From an urban planning perspective, it's great that the Danish government is providing a recreational area for everyone to enjoy. The park is a good 1.5 mile walk from start to finish with an eclectic collection of art sprawled throughout. There are posted placards that identify each piece of artwork and its origin. If you have your bike, there is a solid bike path that cuts through the whole park. Feeling a bit nostalgic? There are several swing sets to park your butt on and sway in childhood glory. I would recommend visiting this park if you want to relax and feel a bit introspective/reflective. read more

Superkilen is my new favorite park! Or well - urban park. More than 170 artists from I don't remember how many (but: a lot!) countries helped to make this little part of Nørrebro become so much more interesting and cool, and they definitely did a good job. Spread out over one kilometer, you'll go from the red/purple towards the black-and-white zone and every single piece simply is just as amazing as the other. It mostly really just is a park without trees, but with colorful art instead. So don't expect too much - but I promise you: if you're into (street)art or awesome backgrounds for your Instagram-photos ;) - go here! read more

I found out about this location on Instagram. Plenty of photos are there and the internet has more information about the neighborhood. I arrived in a taxi and it was full of children at the slide. As a tourist I was there for the creative lines on the ground. Very pretty. It's just I couldn't get the proper angle but I made the best of it. Plenty of other tourist showed up and it became crowded. read more

For those visiting Copenhagen in the winter months, be warned -- the snow will cover most of the aesthetic that makes Superkilen so attractive. :( This was on my list of must-see places during my short trip, but I was (un)lucky enough to experience the city's first snow of the season on my first full day, so there was a thin layer of frozen precipitation on the ground when I finally got to come here. I was so excited to see the vivid colors that painted the floors and walls, but of course, most of it was covered in snow. However, the parts that remained untouched by Mother Nature were still pretty awesome. Still giving this place four stars because it was still really cool to see despite the weather conditions. I guess I'll just have to come back and see the whole thing another time! :P read more

Fun design park area for everyone to visit and enjoy. We visited on a rainy day but still enjoyed the walk with the sights. If you come from far, I recommend coming by train to Bispebjerg station and walking through all the parks and finishing by walking from Superkilen to the Assistens cemetery (it's beautiful!). read more

probably my most favorite park in Copenhagen. I love every aspect of it and it's perfect for people of all ages. The elephant slide, swings and boxing ring are some of my favorites. I love the hammocks as you walk further up in the black painted part of the park. It's fun to bike through and the bike lanes run through the park. I used to live near the donut sign which I find hilarious since I'm American and it was a symbol of my culture that I ironically lived near. If you're visiting Denmark, I highly recommend coming here. Don't miss it! It's like a local spot. and if you're a local, you're real lucky to be able to have this! read more
