I told them I was in no hurry, just need the cushions sometime before the end of September. We'll see how long it takes. 7/13/12-Got the call, everything is ready. They didn't have enough material to do covers so they had to upholster the cushions. They look great!

They came out twice because the first repair scratched the pedestal and the adhesive didn't hold. Second time they tried to fix the scratches but used some kind of matte paint which messed up the finish. Scratches are still very visible. Table still isn't level. It's better and the joint is solid but there's bad scratches. I've attached pictures.

Googled for recommended options and contacted some places Bob's Upholstery being one of them. So glad that I found Bob and decided to go with him. While this day and age many people are happy to take as much money as you're willing to give them Bob is OLD SCHOOL, which is a compliment, meaning he's skilled in his trade but also really cares about both the work he's doing and the end result and at the end of the day making all of that happen for a reasonable price (and just FYI he was about half the price of all the other quotes that I got). Now that I found Bob I won't go anywhere else and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone and everyone. Bob is both a friendly and honest person doing great work for fair prices. For years I've wanted to restore my antique bookcases. They are over one hundred years old, and as…read morea writer I treasure a good place to keep my collection of good books. I was apprehensive with who might be able to do justice and not ruin them. I took a shot with GKH furniture repair and restoration. I'd seen the reviews, and I now can say the reviews weren't exaggerated. When I first called Greg last November he was honest about the time fragment it would take. I unfortunately called during the holidays, which was not good. I later called in March, amd he told me then, sort of leveling with me that this sort of work takes time, like 4-6 months. It wasn't a bad wait and I was patient. The saying goes, "all good things come to those who wait," and it's true if you want a master to handle your antiques. I've sanded, stained wood before, and it's no easy task. It's a time-consuming endeavor, and I also didn't trust myself restoring antique bookcases. In retrospect the price was reasonable for the result. I now have an admirable place to keep my Ulysses, and restored bookcases my ancestors would be proud of.
