Horrible service. I hired this guy to trim a tree tgat was overhanging my property. It was schedule for a Thursday but he called me Saturday, to say he could do it Sunday. I wasn't going to be home, but i agreed that he could do it while i was gone. He sent me pictures of the limbs trimmed from the tree when he was done. I got home after dark, but went to his house to pay him cash as i didn't want him to have to wait for his money. It was dark so i didn't go in the yard to look around. The following day, i was shocked. There were branches left all over the yard. Tiki torches were broken and left laying in the yard. A glass bird feeder was broken and left in the concrete patio. Furniture tgat was moved was not out back in place. Large branches were left hanging in an adjoining tree. Out "hard wired" landscape lights were broken. They left a mess on the street tgat i had to clean up. I called Steve and send text messages many times and each time Steve provided something bullshit as to why he couldn't come clean it up. He was busy, the weather, etc... it's been 3 weeks. I asked for him to give me back $200 so i can hire someone to clean up his mess but he refuses. I gave him the opportunity to make this right before i take this to the next steps I made 2 big mistakes. 1- Hiring this company, 2- Trusting him and paying him cash without looking at his work first. I will not make any further mistakes. I will be doing the following: 1- File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau 2- File a complaint with Consumer Affairs Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this company. When hiring any company, check to see if they have insurance. Ask for a COI (certificate of insurance) Stay away. Horrendous service. Wish I came across this review before booking these guys. They changed their name to Xtreme Tree Service. Paid Steven James upfront $4000, and he stopped responding to my calls/texts. Now I have a half finished job, where he left logs on my yard. read more

The absolute WORST job I have ever experienced in my life. The workers left the debris and logs all over my backyard and in the street. They also left 20 ft of tree when they were supposed to cut it down to a stump. They said they were going to unload their truck because it was full and return to pick up the remaining logs and debris and never showed up. When we spoke to the owner he told us we were wrong and that he "couldn't guarantee that anyone would come back to clean up their mess." I feel terrible for anyone else who will have to deal with this trash company. update: the owner, Steven Halloway or Steven James, tried to say that he never did the job even though I have them on video emails and telephone recordings from him. He's rude and insists he is going to "take my ass to court" for falsely accusing him. If you check his google reviews he will write fake review any review that is bad. Horrible company. A tree fell on my house during IDA and Precision Tree Experts also owned by steven james came out to remove the tree. immediately steven informed us that they would deal directly with the insurance company and gave us a "Proposal" that read "0.00" when we asked about the pricing for the removal we were told that they were not sure of the price until the job was done. Precision who is now operating under superior it seems submitted this "proposal" which originally read "0.00" to state farm for $119000.00 for removing ONE TREE!!! when the insurance company obviously refused to pay this steven said "okay then give me 50k" when that didn't work he says "okay give me 25k" this went on according to state farm for some time until finally after state farms investigation of the work precision did granted 10k for the job. Steven then began sending harassing texts threating to dump debris on my property if i didn't sue the insurance company for the $119000 until I had to file criminal charges for showing up unannounced and continuing to send over 80 text messages. Steve then served me with papers intending to sue me for $119000!!! Please stay far and away from this guy and this company for you will be in a world of aggravation deceit and lies. read more

Horrible. Gave quote and came out hours past the timeframe set forth. They grinded a portion of the stump and left the rest. Covered it with grinding. When the grinding were removed it showed the stump still there. Called and texted several times to no avail. Would not recommend even if they would do the service for free read more

We hired Steve based on his sweet talk and promise to do do the job correctly, however our experience was far from perfect. We were originally scheduled to do the job on Sunday, We specifically asked him that any other day would not work for us. Steve decided to show up a day early because it suit his convenience. He damaged our property (Screen porch) in our absence and tried to hide the issue by using the scotch tape. When i brought it to his attention, he would not accept his mistake and when i showed him the proof of scotch tape he would say oh my car got into an accident and i can not drive to fix it. I have noticed he as lied on several occasion. His job or his conduct was not professional, i am in the process of escalating the matter and making sure he lose his licence so that no other homeowner in new jersey / PA are will have go through what we suffered. Please find someone else for your job and protect your property. If for some reason you decide to go with him, make sure you do not make any cash payment. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! Extremely unprofessional. In the process they damaged my fence, damaged my neighbors tree. They left chainsaw debris in piles all over. They took my money and didn't complete the job. They told me they were coming back to finish clean up and never came back and left an absolute mess. I continued to call call and email. He ignored all my calls and eventually emailed saying he was coming back and never did. This was an absolute mistake hiring this company i don't want anyone else to experience their work. This company steals from you. I was provided an estimate to remove a tree in my backyard and gave Steve a deposit of $1350, roughly 1/3 of the overall price. The day before the work was set to begin, Steve doubled the price of the overall job. His crew never arrived to do any of the work and no-one has ever called me to discuss the situation. I was then told via text that my deposit was non-refundable and used for township and DOT permits. When I asked for the receipt of the so called permits Steve said he used his friends credit card and "chucked" the receipt. I am currently seeking legal action against this company, please never do business with Superior Tree Service, shame on them. read more

Superior is not a reputable company. They left a big pile of branches and debris from work across the street from my house on the street and sidewalk directly in front of my house. They also dumped debris in a wooded area on my property, which required them to carry it across the street and onto my property to dump it. read more

The literal worst. I don't usually write reviews for things but this guy and his company were actually the worst experience for any kind of service we've ever had. They only accepted cash and demanded that we pay them in full before they completed the job. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Not only did they damage our property while cutting our trees, he never came to pick them up. The trees and wood chips have literally been in our yard for weeks and now we have to somehow cut the wood ourselves and figure out where to properly dispose of it. He ignored our calls at least 15-20 times (yes, actually that many times) after leaving the job unfinished, and then, the most unbelievable thing was that he acted like he didn't know who we were when we confronted him in person. Save your money and go somewhere where they actually respect you and your business. We are looking into taking legal action against him as well. read more
