Everything was great early on. I provided a workflow document of my needs and requirements that was…read morediscussed often using the basecamp project management app. I was told sure no problem. I was never told we cant do that. When things became challenging and I started getting blacklisted I asked for a copy of the correspondence and was told they didn't have it anymore. Less than a year later I did take my files and found someone who actually helps my business. A simple website, sure they can do that. However, beware if you have something that is challenging and requires integration and workflow. When the challenges come, they will offer to give you your files (not your money) and boot you out the door vs trying to work with you to make it work as you were promised it would and accepting ownership for their faults. At one point they were testing an error and had to charge their cc to test it, I believe it was for less than 5$. I was asked to refund them, I laughed and did so. Their website states they work to help your business grow, not the experience I had. Also make backup copies of all your correspondence. Another fault is they will nickel and dime you to death and never admit any fault. At one point the owner Dave asked me to prove a product was on my site as it wasn't working and I needed support....I sent him a link to it, never heard any apologies or sorry I missed it, everything was my fault. Terrible experience. They have a built in charge in case they underestimate the work, I knew my site was complicated and gladly paid it thinking I was going to have this great site I had asked for, it was worth it, right? Or so I thought. We went live and it was a nightmare. Nothing had been tested before go live, my customers were sending me terrible emails, I lost sales, a guest couldn't buy a product without setting up an account on the site... People were trying to buy products and they couldn't. People renewing subscriptions could not. At one point the poor girl at Back40 felt bad and started working as my secretary manually helping my customers check out, she was great! I have no issues with the support staff. My issues were with sales and the owner. They do have high turnover or at least they did at the time. Probably part of my issue. So I invested about 12k$ with Back40 overall and left after bringing a lawyer into our correspondence when Dave said he was cutting off my business. Afterall I had no proof since they wouldn't give me access to the development files. In less than a year after developing a new site with Back40 I am developing a new site again. They oversold their capabilities, never admitted any fault and I am sure the response will be more of the same.

Their hosting is awesome too!

I really have to tip my hat to Lesley Saxon of Saxon's Bookkeeping. I stumbled upon her profile on…read moreYelp near the deadline for my personal taxes and overdue on my business taxes. Turbo Tax had given me the runaround and passed me from one tax preparer to the next for a month if not longer, only to finally inform me that they could not prepare my returns. They said it was because I would not pass their quality process check or something to that effect, due to my books not being in the best order. Fortunately, they filed an extension on my behalf. I took that opportunity to seek help elsewhere. That's where Lesley came in. She's all about business, thorough, communicative, expressing exactly what she needed, via email and phone conversation when necessary. I initially thought Saxon's Bookkeeping was a startup business because her profile bio and makeup lacked what I normally see in business profiles from which I acquired services. But what she said in her bio drew my attention. She referenced how other CPAs charge an arm and a leg for their services and she was absolutely right. Her rates, however, were very reasonable, an obvious a selling point. Initially, I'd just planned to have her clean up my books. But when she offered to do my taxes as well and at such a reasonable rate, I couldn't refuse. To make a long story short, she cleaned up my books for my business in which I partner with other members. She cleaned up my books for my sole owned business. And she prepared the tax returns for both, as well, as for me personally. This was all at a rate much less than her competitors, including Turbo Tax. Now, I'm not the most savvy when it comes to this kind of thing. So, if at some point down the road I get audited, this review will obviously change. But for now, as far as I can tell, excellent work! I highly recommend Saxon's Bookkeeping for your financial organizational needs. Thanks Lesley!
