Second time going to this restaurant. Firstly, I was taken back by the attitude of the female sitting at the counter. When I walked in, I got the feeling like she wanted to fight me. Food is ok, not bad not great. But the service is what will keep me from EVER going back! Second time in 2 years and the service is still absolutely the worst! While waiting for my food another customer was trying to order and the gal taking the order was just so nasty and rude that the customer finally told her "look I don't need your attitude, I can cancel my order and go down the road " why the customer continued I'm not sure. This experience was delightful from start to finish! We had heard of this place prior to moving to the area and liked the pictures we saw online. After the owner and his family reached out to personally welcome us to the area, we made it a priority to stop in. Meeting Jorja, who works behind the counter, she was delightful as she hustled and got customers out the door with ease. She sold us some ice cream scoops to go while we waited a brief moment to finish our pizza as we were early. The parking outside seemed decent, even when busy on a Saturday night at 7. A good, family friendly vibe inside and out as people gathered to enjoy both ice cream and dinner at this local place. We got a 12" pepperoni pizza with pineapple on one half, and green peppers and bacon on the other. I'm addition, we also ordered a half order of Buffalo boneless wings. The wings traveled decently, and were good and had a moderate amount of spice. The pizza was much better than anything we had back in Tampa, and we finished the whole thing in one go. Everything stayed hot, there was abundant toppings, and I honestly just felt like I couldn't stop eating. He enjoyed his Moose Tracks ice cream, and I liked the blueberry waffle cone ice cream that I got. It was a lighter blueberry flavor but the chocolate covered waffle cone pieces really popped at me. Some of the best we've had! Husband and I are from the Detroit area and love Buddy's Detroit style and PizzaPapalis pies. We also have friends in Chicago and enjoy many of their Chicago style pizzas. However, Superior Pizza and Sub is a gem among the rough! We stayed at Brimley State Park campground for a week and didn't feel like cooking one night. We ordered pizza and mozz bread to go, and what pleasant surprised it all was!! They do get busy and so could be a wait but totally worth it!!!! Bonus: Ice cream is also very good! read more

Ok, so to be fair, the pizza is probably a 7.5 or 8 but still the best pizza I've had in the Upper Peninsula in the past 12 years. On a Friday they are HOPPING, we were warned before ordering that it would be a 50 minute wait and it was all 50 minutes for our pizza. What puts my rating to a 5 out of 5 was the staff. Rude customers coming in and on the phone was met with a warm friendly response and the kitchen staff never stopped moving. Worth the wait and anything over a 7 is worth ordering again in my book. read more

In our recent trip to the cabin we visited this establishment three times-twice for pizza and once for ice cream. We had great service and thoroughly enjoyed the pizza topped with sausage, banana peppers and black olives. We shared a fresh and varied antipasto salad. The second pizza was ready when we stopped by. The third stop was for coconut explosion ice cream cones, which were supper yummy. The three cabineras highly recommend this pizza shop! read more

Finally tried their pizza but it was very dark brown with charred spots with an icky burned taste that lingers. I sent them a message and pictures. It wasn't a mean message and I didn't demand a refund but I was told all their pizzas are cooked for a "preset time" and that it must have been cooked "more than I prefer." No, I know what burned and overcooked looks like and tastes likes. Even if they just said sorry, I wouldn't have written a bad review. Also, they swing a thing around asking if you want to tip 15-20% (on carry out and even before I got it??) The ice cream is good. read more

We are renting a cabin in the area and wanted some pizza, so we ordered from this place basically because it was the only pizza place around up here in the middle of nowhere. We got a pepperoni and a "Superior" (which has all meats, green pepper, onion, mushrooms), both with the garlic-parmesan crust. The pizzas were pretty much perfect-looking and perfect-smelling, but I'm only giving 4 stars because we weren't super-crazy about the sauce. It was very "tomato-ey" and we prefer a slightly sweeter sauce. The crust and toppings, however, were very good (and we all ate our crusts, which is rare.) They also have subs and calzones, so we may order from here again before we leave. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in on our way to bay mills casino. We had the mozzarella bread and shared a pizza as well. They had a small dining area with a walk up counter to order your food. While they were cooking our food we chatted with the man at the counter who turned out to be the owner. He was friendly and pleasant to talk to. We got our food and it was great. The homemade ranch and homemade garlic cheese sauce for the bread were fantastic. The mozz bread was very cheesy and good. The toppings on the pizza were fresh tasting including the mushrooms. The prices were competitive with the quality being above most others in the area from what we could tell. We will visit again for sure. read more

Our experiences weren't perfect but it was worth 5-star. I chose the boneless wings with the parmesan garlic. It was a little salty for my taste but I had recently had the same problem with the sauce at Buffa Louis in Bloomington, Indiana, and Buffalo Wild Wings. The chicken meat was a good quality white meat and the sizes were good too. In addition, I ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken Ranch pasta (thus I chose a different sauce on the wings). It is perhaps new on the menu but the chicken tasted great among the cheesy penne pasta. I would return just for the pasta and the wings. Better yet, the pizza we ordered was the star on our table. We built our own on a 12-inch pie with the cheese, bacon, and parmesan garlic crust. Bacon was properly cooked, not overpowering while flavorful. The crust came out airy and puffy inside while the outside remained crunchy. The bottom of the crust was crispy and every bite was a pleasure in my mouth. I like the New York style with the thinner crispy crust but the Superior's pizza was definitely worth the visit. read more

This was a great place to get some of the best pizza we have ever had. We ordered a large big meat pizza with light sauce after reading previous reviews on the sauce. I think this is just a personal preference for less tomato. The taste was amazing! The Parmesan herb crust topped it off. Perfectly cooked and served by the nicest people. Stopped by an old favorite place to find new owners and a new menu. You never know what to expect when that happens...but was definitely a good thing this time! The owners were both SO nice, even came out to meet our dog and bring him fresh water. The food was delicious! My husband the pizza snob absolutely loved his calzone and left nothing on his plate, and my chicken sub was perfect.
