Marquette Area Public Schools - Mrs. DePetro ruined my childhood pageant dress and stopped on my day. My time to shine as a child. Return my dress!

THANKS FOR STEALLING AND CUTTING MY DRESS IN HALF SO YOU COULD WEAR IT TO MEXICO CYNTHIA DEPETRO!…read moreHOPE YOU ENJOYED YOUR LAVISH VACATION, you never bought this dress you STOLE this dress from a young innocent girl, you stopped on her dreams, heart, ambitions and stole the sentimental dress of that day from her. Her first pageant. This dress had a huge sentimental value to me and that little girl at the time of her FIRST AND ONLY PAGEANT. Growing up in the system and and with out the childhood every little girl and boy deserves, was that day to me, the day I wore that dress. I felt like Iwas making up for my whole life of not feeling seen or heard, I felt like a princess, like my inner child that little girl was shining through. The girl who grew up to fast and had to fend for herself. HENSE all of my sponsors and why I worked so hard to attain a 2k dress because I knocked on 40 plus doors to get that dress, get my hair and make-up done, and have my final day to make up for my losses as a child. I had so many people listed on the ad for my sponsorships and you were not the only one who provided and you certainly did not pay 2k for my dress I have two people who did. A lawyer who helped me as a juvenile, the superintendent of MAPS at the time and my friend Shirley. You paid for my manicure and pedicure and YOU didn't even show up for the pageant either. It's like ruining someone's wedding day in my eyes. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! But you aren't because you still have yet to return my dress! But you took it upon yourself to alter it for you for the trip to Mexico and the photos are below of you in it on a JETSKI and on the beach with your friends in the beautiful sunset. I have one person who would attest to purchasing and directly writing the check. IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO has been wronged by this school or Cynthia DePetro. Numerous kids have been teased, harassed and bullied by her. I am not alone here, my voice will be heard and I will stand tall and proud as I keep my head high speaking the truth and sharing the FACTS. CYNTHIA DEPETRO is not a whole heartedly good person or teacher, she is not the woman she portrays herself to be: SHE stole my FIRST pageant dress, that was very symbolic to me, that her and I agreed I wanted back, after a few girls who were less fortunate could wear it to formal events. Mrs. DePetros Mexico trip was never involved and or was her having it tailored to her needs and size in our verbal agreement, and it was agreed upon I would receive my dress back after a few other girls got to wear it. I CARED THAT OTHER GIRLS MY AGE DIDN'T HAVE A NICE DRESS to wear, which really I should have let you help them, you being the adult and teacher and trying to be prestigious and such a BIG impact in the MQT community.... if you can afford to go to Mexico and pay for expensive vacations you should have started something to help the less fortunate girls in your own school for fo al events, like you did with your claim to fame Rocks the Socks campaign. I NEVER GAVE MRS. DEPETRO permission to KEEP MY DRESS nor wear it to MEXICO, thanks Cynthia DePetro- great job "teacher of the year", KEEP ON ROCKING THE SOCKS, maybe next time you can wear my pageant dress with a crown catching socks?! Nor did I ever give her permission to yell at me in photography class and or writing class. Which upon my FB post and review a bunch of people have reached out about her negligence to protect them. Mrs. DePetro knew about Tony Parlato the principle at the time of my attendance and his addiction to drugs and stealing from the school. But failed to report it. Mr. Parlato stole something from me too, my childhood medicine that was under lock and key in his office. Mrs. DePetro also oversaw my online courses for English and was "watching Mr. Parlato at this time" but never reported that he had stolen money from me either, stating I had to pay to graduate from high school and my online courses would cost money, the check was written to him. This needs to stop and I need this teacher and fired principal to be honest and step up and take responsibility for their actions and accept the repercussions of their actions of taking advantage of young desolate girls and boys. Education is key, and they both and the school robbed me of this.

The ice is maintained excellently by a man who's passion is good ice. It shows. It's very cold for spectators. Bring a blanket and friends to sit by and you'll be FINE! Most of the rink is old, but it's also in pretty decent shape for what it is. They're working on a new ceiling right now, and half was done for the 2010-11 winter, and it looks much better. Hopefully the rest will be done the following summer. The rink is NOT open in the summer at all, which is a bummer. Make sure to get to the rink and watch the Portage Lake Pioneers and Houghton Gremlins high school hockey. Full schedules for both teams are available at the rink.

Staff surely didn't seem all that encouraging. Walked in and directed myself to the nearest area that appeared to have hockey memorabilia as there was no greeting by staff upon entering. It really wasn't much but it was free. For supposedly being the birthplace of professional hockey I expected more. It was free but I'd still say skip it.
