If you want the short version: NEVER use Steve/Superior Auto Salon to detail your vehicle or any business.
If you want the full story, it is below. I have hi-res pictures to document 100% of my claims as stated. You can contact me if you want to see with your own eyes.
To be fair, everybody has a bad day and nobody is perfect. Me, especially! Ill give a guy a break when mistakes are made...What happened is NOT oversights or mistakes! This is not an angry rant or slander it is well documented. I am being honest, transparent, and very specific as to my issues with Steve and his workmanship.
Here are the facts:
1) Negotiated price went up AFTER, stating it was more work than anticipated. OK, that happens. I paid the extra money for a "Amazing Job" to quote Steve.
2) Paid extra for paint correction and have scratches buffed out. They are still there, obvious as ever. I paid extra for his "I guarantee you I can get those out" brag, brag, brag. WELL, the scratches are still there in plain sight = BS sales talk classic case of OVER PROMISED: UNDER DELIVERED.
3) Missed a 12" x 8" section of Hood not touched at all.
4) Roof has new set of knee dents, courtesy of Steve climbing on roof. Yes, I saw you climbing on roof Steve! Thanks Buddy!
5) Entire right side of vehicle with swirl & hook marks in paint. It is NOT left over wax. They are testament to you rushing and poor technique. Yes, they are actual buffer pad swirls down the entire right side. They will require complete buffing/polishing to remove.
6) He only cleaned right side of engine bay...remainder is filthy, grimy, and dirty.
7) Every single wheel spoke area has missed dirt. However, there is a nice shiny oiling spray stuff on them. Now I have glossy road grime...
8) Oh, and the interior. He "Double washed it and super detailed it" Direct quote from Steve. When the upholstery dried, the stains were still there. My compliments on a great vacuum job there Steve. Also, the fantastic job smearing shiny detailer solution everywhere.
9) Now, this is the worst part! I discovered he used a type of speedy detailer glossing solution everywhere. The vehicle looked all shiny and slick, UNTIL it dried. The next morning, the vehicle looked WORSE! Granted, it looked good at casual glance while still wet. What he did was camouflage and conceal his poor work, got paid, then hustled out...
Now, my part that is my responsibility. Fair is fair.
1) When Steve jacked price up, I should have questioned it, let alone paid. Bad business on my part.
2) When he showed up with a trailer looked like a war zone casualty, I should have been suspicious of internet website pictures. The trailer he uses is NOT the one he uses or pictured. Shame on me for believing a website/internet. Look inside the trailer. That's the level of care you will get too.
3) When he rushed me to pay and get out of there, I should have looked closer. I did not, shame on me for trusting the man.
Steve's EXCUSES, excuses, BS, BS, more BS...
Steve's excuse was it was the "weather." It was too chilly and he accidentally left wax...UUUMMM OK agreed, Yes it was chilly and towards evening. Yes, the wax could have been "sticky." However, I don't see how the weather caused new knee dents; totally missed hood area; still present scratches paid to remove; 1/2 done engine bay; and just a vacuum job and wiped with Armour-all (or similar) coated interior. Weather, HUH? Must have been a Cat 5 Katrina Hurricane. Wait! It was just chilly and quite nice weather actually.
Basically, I got less than 1/2 of what was promised/hyped and paid for. He camouflaged his poor work and rushed job. Then he blames the weather and everything else. He takes zero responsibility for obviously missing, skipping; and poor workmanship.
Trying to be reasonable, I offered a compromise 1/2 work for 1/2 pay. He refused a refund. I asked him to come back so I could show him the poor work. He arrives and demands to re-do the job. No refund. No Steve, I clear said for you to bring 1/2 the money and review your poor work in person. He then tossed his gear in the truck and huffed off like a mad kid...with MY MONEY.
When I was direct, honest, transparent, and clear with him about a review, he threatened me. If I wrote a bad review, "What goes around; comes around"...REALLY STEVE? Thankfully, you were smart enough to say that on the phone, not in person.
Here is your review Steve. You can keep my money and your threats. What goes around; comes around Steve...right? Do NOT ever come around me, my shop or my vehicles again!
Anybody wishing pictures to document my claims and concerns...feel free to email me direct captdon65@yahoo.com Ill happy to proving clear high resolution pictures of Steve's mediocre work at full price.
