In 1979 Supercuts opened a franchise in Palo Alto, where I lived, and a basic cut was just $6 (and a gallon of gas in California averaged approximately $0.88 to $0.90)! Fast forward 47 years and Supercuts is a very different place. They still do a quick cut for a very reasonable price, but now they also provide all the extra services that you would expect from an expensive salon. My excellently-styled cut and blow-dry, plus tip, is about 75-80% less than I paid my previous stylist in Thousand Oaks. I discovered Shaina about 3 years ago and I have never looked back! She is knowledgeable, extremely competent, very personable, punctual, efficient (yet she never seems rushed), and knows exactly what she is doing. Shaina is a super-professional stylist! Thanks to the convenient Supercuts App on my phone, I can always make an appointment within a day or two (usually on the day I book) -- and they remind me a couple of hours before the appointment, in case I forget. KIRSTIN RATCLIFF IS THE WORST PERSON TO CUT HAIR EVER. So you know who she is she has long blonde hair and has pretty light skin. I literally cried when I saw how she cut my hair after I got into the car to leave. She shouldn't be allowed to work there she's an absolute IDIOT and TERRIBLE PERSON TO CUT HAIR. She DOESN'T listen I specifically showed her the exact hair length that I wanted with picture references and also explained it very clearly and in detail and she was saying she knew exactly what I wanted and understood and literally messed up my hair so bad she cut it way too short she's literally so dumb. I didn't want to make a scene inside the Supercuts because I have anxiety, but she works at this location. I trusted her to cut my hair and literally showed her and told her exactly what I wanted. Got a very good haircut with Kristin today. Just what I asked for, no wait for an on-line appoitment, and nice, friendly atmosphere.

I believe the hair dresses name was Adrianna, but it has been 2-3 weeks so I could be slightly off in the name. I have not received such amazing service, such a great cut, like that, for that price, really if I could have I would have tipped her an additional $50.00 that day. Really excellent experience, I was a bit having a hard time prepping for an interview prior, and she really did the greatest job, was so nice, for my lack of description or knowing exactly what I needed. Shaina trimmed my hair just as I wanted it. It was my first time at Supercuts. I will be back in for the next cut in a month or so.

I really should've known better than to come to Supercuts for any type of stylish haircut. My normal stylist at a different salon was busy so I came here against my better judgment to get my bangs trimmed. I previously had beautiful tapered fringe forehead bangs. I asked the lady to trim my bangs and she completely messed them up. She cut them straight across so instead of having them angled down and tapered I have bangs straight across my forehead like a 10 year old girl in the 90s. I didn't even realize the extent of how much they were missed up until later on. She cut off so much of the layers that it will probably take at least 2 months for them to grow back to have my regular lady fix them. Never again! read more

Today I went to new place to get my haircut not named Supercuts since I got my haircut less than 3 weeks ago at a Supercut but had an issue since day 1. It was more of butcher job by Supercuts. I've been miserable with it. The last time I tried to say something when I was asked what I thought to get something fixed to this lady who cut my hair at Supercuts I was told "I'm good at my job but I'm not a magician". I didn't even know how to respond because I've never had anyone respond that way to try to have them clean something up and get denied. The new place I went to said the reason I was having issues with this haircut is it looked to be a bad blend and uneven. I've been going to Super Cuts for over 10 years but that was my last. I wouldn't recommend going to this location specifically because of this stylist. read more

Just writing to leave a positive review for JOSE! I'm not a picky person at all, I just like supercuts because it's efficient and cheap. That being said, I appreciate a job so well done! Usually I feel sort of skeptical (not enough to actually look for a stylist) because Asian hair is differently textured and the strands are thicker. And this time I'll admit I wasn't sure also because I haven't had a man cut my hair before. But Jose did an outstanding job and was also quick about it. I was in and out the door in 15-20 min. At Supercuts the experience of the stylist can vary from green to talented, so you have to really know who your getting. I myself have had both good and bad experiences and I'm happy I found Shaina. I've gone to this Supercuts several times, so it's about time that I drop a review. The place is pretty well-maintained and clean whenever I come here. I am always satisfied with my hair-cuts, and the stylists are all friendly. Plus, you can't beat the price! There is plenty of parking no matter when you come in. One drawback is that unlike most Supercuts, you can't check in online; you need to call if you want an appointment. Melissa is one of the most popular stylists, so I suggest you call ahead if you want her as your stylist. I went in today to get a haircut, and there were three phone calls asking for her! Also, the place gets quite busy on the weekends. I recommend coming in on weekdays (mornings/ early afternoons are usually not busy). I visited on February 2nd. Their calling in / check in system is so weird. I waited for 15 minutes and some guy who had called in 2 minutes before coming in was able to get his hair cut before me...just because he had "called ahead" Anahid cut my hair and I hate it. I had pretty long hair and I told her I had wanted to take off a couple inches and by the time she had finished making adjustment after adjustment my hair was shorter than shoulder length.. she cut off all my hair and it's so upsetting. The front pieces of my hair were in my eyes for most of the cut so I couldn't see what she was doing, I thought she was just being really tedious but nope she just kept cutting. My stylist was the manager Shaina. Her name is mentioned throughout Supercuts' reviews, so I had to meet with her. I was not disappointed. She was equal parts professional and personable. She was fun to talk to and got me in and out fairly quickly. She gave me tips on how to style and care for my hair. I'm also not a fan of walking in and waiting for 20+ minutes, so that's why I asked to book a slot instead of just coming in randomly. When I called this morning, the person who answered (Shayna) was rude. I could hear her snickering when she told me that they don't do appointments. I've been going to this location for almost 10 years. There have been staff and price changes over that time. I've had my hair cut by both women who are currently there. Both do a great job and work through customers fairly quickly. I gave them 4 stars because I'm disappointed in the price increase for a basic haircut. For long time it was $20-22, in the last year it went to $25 and now it's almost $28! For someone that's in the chair for maybe 10 minutes (not much hair left), it's getting difficult to justify the new price. With tip it's over $30. You can buy a nice hair clipper for $60. They used to offer a free cut after 12 haircuts, but not anymore. They do offer a discount if your 65, but I'm not there yet. Businesses use to recognize 62 or even 55 as a senior - guess too many were using the discount? Anyway, if you have a lot of hair or have a it styled, this place is probably a good value. I'll likely be looking for a place that's a better value. read more

Worst haircut I've ever had. I came in and they have me the most uneven haircut I've ever had. The back was awful. The fade was uneven. I came here thinking trimming up my sides would be a simple job. Never again. Edit: the manager called me and offered to have it fixed. Ask for Gabriel! I'm new to the Thousand Oaks area and have been to this Supercuts about 3-4 times now. I have long hear that I wear in a bun, with an undercut that I try to maintain regularly. The first few times that I have gone, i have unfortunately felt either awkward or tense in the setting, and kinda like I wasn't welcome. When Gabriel cut my hair, he listened to what I wanted and although I could tell I confused him a little bit (asking for a geometrical shape and following my neck line blah blah), he still went for it and did his best to make me happy. And I definitely was!! I know it's just an undercut, but he really took his time and listened to what I wanted. He even gave me a hot towel, something that I never got before at location. This place was horrible. I went in for a simple haircut this evening and I left with my hair wet, so I really couldn't tell there was a problem. My hair is totally uneven. Not sure why they have an appointment policy. I made a 12pm appointment on the phone and when I came in I was told the appointments aren't guaranteed and that it would be longer because they were very busy. Didn't look that busy at all. So maybe it's the current employees. Only one person cutting hair at a time. I hope management see this and makes some changes or this place will join the other hair cut places to go out of business in the area. All the chairs empty but one. I've been busy hair cut places.
