Before I say anything, I'll remind you that I paid for a $25 haircut. You know the saying "You get…read morewhat you pay for"? Well I certainly got what I paid for. And then some!... When I walked in my hair, which I'd grown out for 10+ years, was all one length and down to the middle of my back. No bangs. Took me 6+ years to grow those out. In 30 minutes I had 6" less hair, awkward uneven "layers" that looked like my 11 year old cut them, and "curtain bangs" that I never asked for nor wanted. I could've cried. The "stylist" was very nice, don't get me wrong, but telling me she's been cutting hair for 28 years made the haircut I received seem even worse. It looked like Stevie wonder cut my hair. I waited a couple days, tried to "make it work", couldn't, and called Great Clips. They said "No problem, come in, we'll fix it." The stylist who originally cut my hair was on vacation, thank god, because I wasn't trying to be mean or make her feel bad! Another stylist "fixed" my hair which meant having to cut into the "bangs" I didn't want even more and going even shorter to compensate for the "layers" on the sides (not back!?) of my head. I will say the 2nd stylist took the haircut from a zero out of 10, to a 5 out of 10. But remember, you get what you pay for? Well the second haircut the stylist was doing for free, and she didn't seem happy about it... I told her "I'll totally tip you! I feel bad having you work for free when it's not your mistake!" This is when another younger stylist chimed in and said "don't worry about it! I've had to fix MANAGER'S haircuts here!" Anyway, the 2nd stylist did BETTER. But again, you get what you pay for. I ended up "tipping" her $25 (the cost of a haircut) but I walked out of there asking myself "why spend $60 on two haircuts you hate, when you probably could've got a $75 haircut you LOVE?! Moral of the story: DON'T go to Great Clips, DONT be stingy when it comes to 24" of glorious hair that took you 10 years to grow. This is probably a great place if you're a dude who wants a buzz cut or trim, but STYLISTS these women are NOT.

She helped me decide what to…read moredo with my hair (it's very long and was in need of serious rescue due to me neglecting to get it cut for way too long and just not caring for it as well as I should) Rae trimmed my hair and noticed a lot of damage I had done from heat-styling w/o a protective product. She washed my hair and conditioned it with a product to really moisturize. After this, she spent over 30 minutes drying and styling my super thick hair. When she was done, it looked amazing!! I am so grateful for the hair advice she provided me and the care she gave. At the end, I bought a product at check-out *not* because I felt pressured, rather, because she helped educate me to make better choices about my own hair care. Kathryn is so talented at her craft, and I've never trusted a stylist more. I let her do what she feels will look best on me and she's never let me down. She's a genius colorist and has taken my almost black hair, to the most natural, amazingly shiny, blondish balayage. Kathryn always listens to what I want, and then executes my vision-but always way better. The Port area is lucky to have Kathryn, she could very easily be found at a high end salon on Newbury Street.

He was very close to me at one point and I personally saw he had a knife on him, which was really scary for everyone around. He ended up stealing a Dyson after messing with the security device and leaving the store. People around were clearly shaken and felt unsafe during it. What stood out to me was that staff didn't say anything about what was happening or reassure customers, just the normal 'do you need help finding anything' while walking around. I totally understand mistakes happen. I called and they told me to bring the receipt in to get the gloss. I asked the very sweet cashier to please call her back up as I wanted the lip gloss (I was supposed to receive both) She came back more annoyed and straight up said "I don't know what you want me to do". It's perfectly fine that are out, it was the lack of customer service, treating me like I was an imposition and honestly straight up rude. I know she could have offered something else, or even a simple apology. I really hope she doesn't treat her staff or other customers the way she treated me.
