Kimberly is an outstanding hairdresser. She is an artist at hair color, as I hope you can see from the picture I uploaded. I brought in the picture to the left as an example of what I wanted my hair to look like, and my hair after she worked her magic is on the right. No matter what I ask of her, Kimberly listens intently. She's careful to be sure that she fully understands what I'm asking so that she gets it right. I've always been completely happy with her haircuts, too. I've never walked away unsatisfied with her work. During the pandemic, Kimberly has been exceptionally careful about adhering to the rules to keep her clients safe. She carefully schedules her time, and if she sees that there may be a conflict between appointments, she calls ahead to push the time out so that I don't have to wait in the parking lot. During the good weather, she offers clients the option to have their hair done outside for maximum Covid safety. I saw Kimberly and am so glad I went to her. In general she is welcoming, calm, kind, attentive and patient. I feel lucky having had hair service done by her. She explained what she was doing and I felt like I could absolutely trust her. I have to note, she was so helpful and made sure what she was doing was right for my face shape and hair, and I felt like she respected that at the end of the day it's still my own hair. She also put up with my tons of hair inspiration pics!! I got the sense that Kimberly is VERY knowledgeable about a breadth of color, treatment, cut/styling needs, for a variety of people. I found Kimberly by chance/fate/luck the day I came home furious and angry with my old hairstylist - and needed somebody to correct the color damage quickly. We connected over email, I shared photos and she agreed to see me. What I liked immediately was she met me outside, in the bright sunshine with a mirror, and really took the time to look at my hair type and color before we moved inside. We talked about what I wanted, and didn't want and how she could tackle the pretty obvious issues. We made some decisions and she set to work. I was so relieved and very happy walking out of that salon. I've been back twice now and while I didn't need a haircut the first time, Kim has done a great job with the 2 subsequent cuts. Over the years I have found it takes a very skilled colorist to help me achieve the color I like. Kim is one of the only stylists I have ever been to who I felt really took the time to listen to my requests and give me several options to get the color I want. She is a true artist and her love for her work really shows. In addition, it's so nice to rush in for my hair appointment and have a variety of snacks and drinks offered, even speciality cookies make by Kim herself! It may seem silly to be so excited about that but as a working mother it is the small things that make a huge difference. I have been seeing Kimberly since I moved to Newburyport three years ago. An appointment with her is a totally pleasant and relaxing experience. She always asks how you are feeling about your hairstyle, what's working and what's not. She offered outside haircuts last year during the warm weather which was great and felt completely safe. Kim has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 8 years. I drive a distance t get to her because now that I found her, I do not want anyone else doing my hair. Kim has so much education in "Hair Everything", yet she is continually taking classes near and far. She takes the time to discuss what her clients really want and then she listens!! I called Kim to have her to take out all the color in my hair that I had put in over the years (to cover my gray)....so that I could now stop coloring and let my natural color grow in without the horrible "skunk" line growing out my scalp. It was a long day! Over 7 hrs Kim transformed me and I love it! She is patient and conscientious, monitoring me all the way along. The first thing I noticed was how neat, clean and welcoming the salon was! That was after Kim came outside to fetch me for my appointment, with proper social distancing, Kim asked me to take down my mask and smile so she could see my entire face! Kimberly has been doing my hair for years and doing a fabulous job of it. Typically I get lots of foils to lighten my blonde/brown hair. After two months without an appointment with Kimberly due to the Corona pandemic I was ready for a change.
