Its been a year and I have been contacted by the people who run that Supercuts. They understood their mistake and given the opportunity have worked to fix the issue. I have given them another try and the only issue I have is the place is very busy on the weekends and the waiting area is a little cramped. Made a reservation today for 4:30pm and was able to start getting my haircut around 4:40pm. I was out the door around 5:00pm. If you live around the area and it is convenient then this is the place for you. If you are a guy and just want a simple haircut, this is the place for you. Of course there is a negative stigma with Supercuts and other cheap chain hair salons, but you need to take it at face value. If you want a barbershop with the best atmosphere and amenities or want a super detailed cut where you can have personal conversations with your barber. Then this is not the place. Go somewhere else and pay double or triple the price. You need to remember that this is a Supercuts and they do the job. I am happy with my simple haircut, and I am glad that I was in and out very quickly. It also helped that I bought the 100 dollar gift card in the past, this allows me to save 20%! She has been here for the most past of last 5 years and has been cutting hair far longer than that. She does a fantastic job every time! My Mom is super finicky about 2 things- one, her tea and second her haircut but Caitlin exceeded the expectations and my Mom was super happy after Caitlin's service. For me, I came to Caitlin after a terrible terrible haircut which she fixed it very smoothly! She listened to my hair style expectation and she delivered it more than I had expected. I will not recommend this store to anyone. I went there today for haircut. I showed them a picture for reference (Those employees somehow don't understand english). Woman who was cutting my hair was very rude. I asked her why she is talking rudely and she said it's a bad day for her (why talk rudely then). She cut my hair very short than I asked for and when I questioned her about that, she said because she accidently cut some hair short and covered it cutting remaining hair short (ridiculous). Also, she was cutting hair so harshly that once or twice her scissor hurt my head. Plz don't go to this store. They'll ruin your hair. Edit: I went home and checked backside of my head. Jessica is the best and my go to! I always go to her because she knows how to cut and layer my thick Asian hair nicely. I've never been disappointed with her and she's so friendly too. Everyone is pretty nice there I've always had a good experience. 1st time getting haircut during covid and it was great. They make sure you feel safe during these hard times. You check in online and wait outside. They check temperatures, sanitize all the seats and tools in between customers, plenty of distance in between, masks required, the capes are pulled out of clean bags, etc. read more

I decided to try out Supercuts after many years. I was shocked! Everything is an add on cost. Shampoo $5 eh sure but then to get a blow dry $15 and to "style" an additional $40 on top of a $28 haircut. Are you kidding me?!?! I got a shampoo a cut (which was like 2 mins) and then the blow dry and they didn't even actually fully dry my hair! I will not be seeking out services from super cuts again, it's not worth it. read more

Got a haircut here in the weekends. Went there by appointment, sometimes wait times can be 10-15 mins around 11am-1pm. So be prepared, and there's so much in the rivermark plaza that you can easily spend that time. Irene, did a wonderful job, and gave a perfect haircut. She asked the preferences and always confirmed with me, about the hair length or styling before anything. It really felt that these guys here, actually do care about your preferences. First time was 101F and she asked me to wait in the shade few minutes later when she checked it showed 103F. She was suggesting me to go sit in AC and then come back. I later went to Other super cuts at holger dr and she checked me in Fine. The staff at this location is extremely unprofessional. I called in and made an appointment for 4.30 pm. I specifically mentioned that I have a 1 month at home and I have to be back positively by 5 pm. They said no issues and that as soon as I reach, I will get my hair cut at 4.30 pm. When I reach there, the receptionist was like " oh we don't know when we can get to you as there are people I front of you ".. is that for real !!? Finding a place that knows how to do a scissor cut seems to be nearly impossible in this area. The only good part of this place is when I push, they will usually be willing to do one. Not exactly a glowing commentary, but considering almost every other barber I've tried in this area flat out refuse to do a scissor cut, insisting they can only cut hair with a trimmer and guide, not even knowing how to do comb over trimmer style, it is still a step up. I wear my hair in a standard side part with no fade, shave or anything like that, and need to explain to them almost every time how to perform such a cut. I don't even suggest that they trim my beard, because I'm afraid of the damage they'd do to an actually trimmed beard. It's a $7 hair cut that costs $20, but it's less wrong than most of the local competitors I've tried. read more

My niece went to get a haircut and she asked for a simple trim. instead they gave her like five layers and gave her the shortest bangs. She told the lady with brown hair and silver and red glasses not to cut her bangs but she did anyway. She asked them to just trim it about one or two inches, instead they were across bangs. Came here to have my little one's 1st haircut - (they don't shave the head (from FDA rules) but will trim off as much as possible with their trimmers). We came 1st thing in the morning' the lady who trimmed off all his hair was very gentle and patient. Baby sits in parents lap and done. The Lady was sweet, she said "If baby starts crying we can stop in between and continue no need to rush!" This was very sweet for a mom to hear. But I'm sure coming here when they just open helped; otherwise this place gets super busy. They even offer a plastic bag and little award certificate for baby's first haircut...so you can keep the hair if you want. Little one will be coming back here for next haircut. read more

The ONLY reason I am leaving a review is because of the new Stylist Katlyn. Katlyn started about 6 weeks ago and I just happen to end up with her one day when I dropped in for a quick haircut. The last 3 haircuts have been outstanding! She listens and asks questions in an effort to get your haircut right. I reccomend the Tea Tree service as well with her. My bangs were not going to see my stylist for another three weeks and desperate times call for desperate measures. The salon in Rivermark had closed which by default left me with two options: 1. suck it up and wait 2. try out super cuts and pray for the best I went with option two.... Pleasant staff, no wait time and the bang trim took 3 minutes tops. Slightly uneven but not enough to drive me nuts.. To her credit, the woman cut my bangs to the length I wanted them (out of my eyes, but still long enough to where if they were uneven my stylist back home could fix them). For 9.95 it was worth being able to see and not looking like a total grunge kid from the 90s. read more

TLDR : have only had great haircuts for four years here! The negative reviews on here are BS. Irene is great! seriously don't get all the negative reviews on here. Been coming here since I moved to the local area. I've walked away each time extremely happy with my haircuts. It's a Supercuts so it gets busy. Esp one in a busy shopping center. Waiting 15 mins is normal for a busy weekend day. Just call ahead and you'll wait less. My go-to is Irene bc she is quick and precise - plus she is super nice. I try to tip well and at this point, she knows without asking me. I just sit down and we go. It's awesome. When Irene is not available, every stylist has been equally skilled - they just don't know my preferences yet. Highly recommend staying with one stylist the first few times. The whole crew is Vietnamese women so they know how to cut Asian hair really well. There is one dude Jason who I've had a few times and he is also very skilled. For men's haircuts they are all very solid. My quarantine self haircuts are just insanely bad so I'm really hoping this location opens back up soon. Be prepared to wait for quite some time almost all days of the week. On weekend the wait time is really high. This Supercuts is located in the Rivermark plaza near the Safeway. I have been a couple of times here. This seems to be quite a busy location and the wait time is typically around 20-30 minutes. Also I am quite disappointed with the final result of my haircut. I have tried two different stylists on two different occasions and on both the occasions the haircut length was way shorted than I instructed/asked for. And unlike a bad experience in a restaurant, you can't get your hair back (compare with sending your food back). So maybe from next time I will try a different place. I waited for two visits before posting this so that the review doesn't look like a knee-jerk reaction from a singular visit. read more

When I lived in SJ, I had my haircut here for 3 years. Thuy is the lady to see. Any of the ladies are actually very friendly, but I guess Thuy was the most frequent person I had my hair cut by. The place is in a great area and because it's a SuperCuts chain, the prices are consistently low, compared to other salons. And since I'm a guy, I don't really need all that fancy stuff. Most of the ladies there can also work with a razor to texturize hair so that's a plus, and it doesn't cost extra. Nor does it take much longer because I'm usually in and out in 30-45 minutes. It does pay to call ahead though. Since it's a busy shopping center, there are lots of walk-ins. If you have Asian hair, since most of these ladies are Asian, it should be a great place for guys and girls alike. If you have a specific style you want, bring a picture. I give this place a 4 for the cost and the quality. Sure you could pay double or triple, but I don't think that's worth the difference in quality. That is a personal statement and relative to my hair style. They're courteous and quick. What more does a guy need? read more

Unfortunately I put my kids name on the list for him and when my family arrived he was working on another client and took like 40 mins to complete that. We waited and ended up having one kid go to another stylist and the other went to him. I was willing to give him another chance because I witnessed his work on several occasions and it was very good, and he apologized. However, he is no longer there either. I went to the Super Cuts on Holger partially because I was hoping to find them lol. No such luck. Without Cody this is just a dusty, outdated location with bad parking. Hong did my haircut and beared trim. She seemed extremely professional and understood my requirements in one go. I love the end result..! Great place I take my kids here all the time for their haircuts. The people are friendly & nice. They listen to what you want & take their time in achieving the look. All the stylists are well groomed themselves & dress nicely. Nothing worse then going to a hair salon & the hair stylist can't make an effort to look presentable & professional.
