Being from Houston, Texas paying $45 for a pedicure, I expected so much more than I actually received. In Houston, I can get a very high quality pedicure for just under $40 which would include hot wax, hot towels on your legs and a hot stone massage. In Houston the nail salon also uses disposable liners in their tubs and new nail utensils for every client making it very clean with no worries of infections. Design Hair Studio in Ponca City, OK charges $45 for a pedicure and all you get is an extremely basic pedicure. No hot wax, no hot towel, no stone massage, no mud wrap, etc. No liner in the tub and I believe they could use a new set of nail clippers. While the place is very clean and the girl that gave me the pedicure was really nice, I believe they are over-charging for their pedicures. I will be doing more research to find the perfect place for a pedicure at the right price.

My mother goes here regularly and really likes the service, so I came to get a massage when visiting over the holidays. Massage was great, really relaxing and good pressure. Also the lotion/oil used wasn't greasy, I'm not a fan of getting a layer of greasy lotion on my skin but this felt great. Nice room with relaxing atmosphere including calm music and subtle aromatherapy smells (or maybe it was just the massage oils but smelled good!). Super reasonable prices... a half hour massage was $35 (plus tip). Hopefully their hair services are as good as their massage services!

We thought it was weird also that there was no background music or radio going. Being in there as the only customers was dead quiet. I feel like people spend more money if there is music playing. Since it is a more trendy store, some alternative music may be good. I did purchase something, but my daughter liked several things but there were no expanded sizes for her. In a town like Ponca City, having a few larger sizes would do well since Liles and Company do not carry them. The things I bought were a terrific price. They've done good keeping things at an affordable price point. When I checked out, the person at the desk could be way friendlier. I have no idea who this person was, but she needed to be way friendlier. I've worked in retail, so I know retail and friendliness goes a long way. Just a few changes would make a very nice store. I want them to do well, but their help needs to step it up, or no one is going to come in.

I don't have really any complaints except that to get your hair blow dried or even straightened it cost quite a bit extra. When I got my hair washed it was $5 and she asked if I wanted it blow dried and I asked how much and she said $15.95. To me, that is crazy high for using a blow dryer. I opted to not have it done as I didn't have that much money on me. Luckily it was hot outside so I didn't need to blow dry it. I could of done it at home but it's a lot of work for me. Other than that everything was great. Staff was friendly, place was clean and organized and I was in and out in under 10 mins.
