I got a pretty decent cut from a young hairstylist there (and tipped very well) but was astonished that they're charging more than some VERY highly rated and established salons in Burlington. Like, a lot more. I recommend making the drive up to see someone with a lot more experience for a lot less money. Cannot recommend. read more

For the price and convenience, I went here twice recently. From a young woman who had probably less than 6 months of experience, I received an excellent haircut. This motivated me to return. From a woman closer to my age, claiming 27 years of experience, I received the worst haircut of my life. A request for a couple inches off with long layers turned into about 5 inches off and some hacked off wedges that are practically bangs. Lesson learned. read more

I've been grabbing quick haircuts at Supercuts since this location in Middlebury opened. The place is a Supercuts so I never walk in expecting a superb job but a recent visit will keep me from ever coming back. First and foremost this location has a crazy amount of turnover. It seems like the employees are always changing. I've had some decent cuts but no one sticks around long enough to get a haircut from them twice. When I got my haircut today the woman who cut it was older, probably in her forties. She had a rough personality, not something you want in someone cutting your hair. She literally told me "When someone comes in and wants a cut just do that shit, no cuts means no checks". She absolutely took that to heart as she proceeded to do a horrendous job on my hair in quick fashion. Apparently the back had "bedhead" so she left it entirely, must have been too much work. Her "trim" on the top consisted of a three or four clips with the scissors. She then grabbed my eyebrows and told me they were too long and I should trim them and sent me on my way. Looking at my hair tonight the cut should have been free. Pair that with the terrible personality of the woman who cut it and the borderline insult she dished out and I can absolutely say I'll go elsewhere for a haircut from now on. read more

I know exactly the look I want when I get my hair cut: The way it looked that time in 1996 but nothing like how it turned out once in 2003. No help in other words, I leave it up to the stylist. Angela at Supercuts gave me an excellent cut, fading from short at back and sides to longer on top. And she was fast and had interesting banter, something some men miss from the old barber shop days. Highly recommended, it helps if you know what you want. read more

There used to be some decent stylists, but they've gone downhill-- badly. Out of desperation and convenience, I took my 18 year old son there. His haircut was scheduled for 12:30 pm. The girl was finished and at the counter at 12:34 pm. She butchered his hair so badly I had to go to the local barber shop immediately to fix it. When he sat down in the chair at the barber, she just shook her head in disgust and dismay. And that's the second time that has happened with this stylist at Supercuts. On disability for seizures, was turned away with my seizure alert service dog. They said this Franchise owner only allowed service animals for blind people. This was so ridiculous that I called and talked the the owner who said, yes, new Vermont and New York law. Again, I knew this was absurd. Called Super Cuts corporate and they also said it was absurd and are calling the Middlebury owner to set her straight. I almost called the police, as a business can be fined up to 5,000 for this kind of discrimination. I've called the Attorney General as well. Good try. read more

Let me begin by saying that I wouldn't have even gone to get a haircut if it weren't for my mother's shrill voice constantly telling me that I looked like a hobo or my brother telling me that I looked like Norm Snively, the clown from "Air Bud." My self-esteem was at an all time low and I needed a shot of confidence asap. So there I was, entering super cuts barely able to see through the cloud of shame around my head, and I must say, 15$ dollars and 10 minutes later, that cloud is still there, if not only slightly better. Just left Supercuts with yet ANOTHER amazing cut and highlight!!! Deanna is truly the "Color Diva", although I saw some work and magic being done the other highly talented ladies working in the shop today. Can't say enough good things about this shop, I drive 30 minutes, each way... just to visit Supercuts in Middlebury. Very professional, courteous and personable... nothing short of some of the most talented stylists I have come across in my years!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

After reading the two previous reviews, I thought I should post a review from someone that has been going to Supercuts for over three years for a cut and color. I have been living in VT for about 12 years and it isn't easy to find a good hair stylist. I have tried a lot of beauty salons and not only are they expensive, but they are no better (some worse) than the girl that does my hair at Supercuts. You can't make an appt. but you can call ahead the same day so you don't have to wait. The color they use on my hair lasts and my hair stylist cuts my hair the way I want. What more can a girl ask for!! read more

I use to work in this plaza and the supercuts was never busy. A couple of months ago I went online and selected super color for 4pm. I went into the salon and told the young lady who I was so I could check in and she said I wasn't on the list and acted like I was inconveniencing her. Ok, fine. I messed up or the website was messed up. So I told her I wanted my hair colored and she was huffing and puffing and said they wouldn't have time. I asked if she knew how long it was going to take, so I could come in another day, and again she acted like I was making this difficult for her. She said I would fry my hair because I had used box hair dye and it would take a lot to fix it. I don't know because iv only box dyed my hair one time and I'm not a hair dresser, that's why I was asking. I got sick of her being short with me and left. I called again a week ago, 1pm on black Friday. I asked the young lady that answered the phone if they would have time to dye my hair. She started huffing and puffing, talking with another employee I'm assuming. She came back on the phone and asked how long my hair was and if it had been colored before. I told her and she said it would be alot. I asked alot of what? She said money. I said I didn't ask how much it would cost, I juat asked if they had time. I hung up on her and went somewhere else. I was able to get my hair colored and cut un less than 2 1/2 hours and wasn't treated like I was inconveniencing them. Someone really needs to work on the staff at this location. Also I went on their website after last week and submitted a complaint and didn't hear anything back. Must me nobody cares that they treat people this way. read more
