She is friendly, easy to talk to, and just real. Sometimes the women I've seen at other salons can be a bit fake or flaky, but not Ashley. She also knows her stuff. Over the years she has taught me a lot about skincare. At each visit she takes her time to do it right - carefully waxing, tweezing, and everything else. How many times do you have to tell a stylist that you only want your neck and around your ears done…read moreand that's it (Something that should take less than 5 minutes to do)? Apparently 4 times is not enough. There's the old adage "you get what you pay for" and that holds true for this Great Clips. I usually get my hair cut at a bigger name salon, but since I was growing my hair out - from time to time I need my neck cleaned up and a little cut around my ears. That's all I went in for, and they messed that up. I should have asked my roommate. I told the stylist 4 times that I wanted my neck done and I was growing out my hair. First time was at the computer, second was when I first sat down, third time was a leading question when I asked if she was cutting too much?, fourth was when I told her again after I felt she was cutting too much that I just needed my neck because I was growing my hair. I went in just for a neck trim (something they charge $5 for), but got a lot more than that cut in the back where I couldn't see. When I could see how much she was cutting as she was making her way around the side, I questioned her. She proceeded to charge me $12, when I questioned it she blamed it on "miscommunication" and charged me $9 saying that "we should split the difference." I was shocked that she just made a deal with me over a mistake that never should have happened. I didn't want to make a big deal as the lobby was full and some poor soul had to go with her next, so I paid and left for her sake. Do not go to THIS location. I'm sure not all of them are bad. Here is where you'll get a lot more than what you paid for - and not in a good way. I've never given 1-star before, but I figure the first 4 were taken away each time I told the stylist that I only wanted a neck and ear trim.

I asked about different dyes, which ones were safe and all that good jazz. I was recommended a dye that gave me chemical burns and ruined my hair. Then was recommended a shampoo that I did some research on that was terrible! Can cause hair to thin and fall out and contained so many carcinogens it was like blue shampoo or something to help take out brassy yellow tones in bleached hair. So yeah if you want products that will hurt you and be lied to saying it's the best and you'll love it go here!
