Julie says, we didn't see your hair before you came. After arguing with her, I paid. Then I asked her before I left, "How much fir a touch up. She said, If you come at 6 weeks, it's $50. I made an appointment for 6 weeks. 6 weeks later, I call to confirm my 3pm appointment that day. They said, Katy, my stylist isn't there. She's on vacation. They said, Veronica can do it today. I go in fir root touchup of my blonde highlights. When Veronica is done, it's RED!! WTH?? I said what's with the red Veronica? She said that's your highlights. I asked, RED?? Who on earth, would want red on blonde?? I said I looked better when I came here today. Now I have to go on vacation with RED HAIR on top of blonde?? I was bawling my eyes out as they spoke Spanish to each other. I was doomed!! My hair looked DISGUSTING!! She said if you want blonde highlights, it costs $125.00!!! WTH?? Where did that come from?? She said your highlights today is $45. $10 more if you want blow dry, $15 more if you want curling iron!!! Wth again. She said, finally, yoy need to talk to Julie the owner. She'll be back Wednesday. 5 days from then!! She said, Julie didn't explain it to.you right. No charge for today. Hell no will I pay a dollar for this clown hair!! Julie, being the owner, should have called me 2 days prior to tell me Katy will be on vacation, and learn damn English if you're gonna live here and have a business!! Last year the barber that had been cutting my boyfriend's hair for 18 years, retired. So, he referred him to someone in his shop. When he went for his next haircut he came home with a cut he could have gotten at a military base. It was a DISASTER! Brian has curls that most would die for, and they cut them all off So, the next time he was ready to get his haircut he came to Sherry. She cut his hair PERFECT! It wasn't too long, it wasn't too short, it was literally PERFECT! Brian never lets anyone trim his beard because they always screw it up, but I convinced him to let her try. PERFECT! My boyfriend lives in Phoenix, so the next time he needed a haircut he went to someone his friend uses. Again, he came home looking like a DISASTER! I didn't want to tell him it looked like someone had used a bowl as their guide to cut his hair. Needless to say, from now on he will be traveling 3 1/2 hours to get his hair done by Sherry. She really didn't have any suggestions and probably didn't want to get in trouble. I believe I kindly texted Sherry, the Owner, emailed her and called her several times. And definitely don't go to Sherry/Stylist/Owner for color or anything else. She did a terrible job, never apologized, never offered a refund or re-coloring. Was just generally dismissive to me. Go to Kristy at JCPenney salon at the mall in PD. Fabulous color and cut for amazing prices. I can't tell you anything about the other stylists but they all seemed happy & positive and supportive of one another. I've seen good reviews for many of them, but I really love Kristy. I am always nervous about trying new salons as an individual with textured hair. The thing that put me at ease is seeing a woman of color in the Yelp photos. Arriving at the salon I was greeted by hello's and a very chic, modern interior. It is very minimalistic but inviting which I love! Less is really more. I arrived early so I sat in one of the many comfy chairs until I could by checked in. Adrian greeted me by name, sat me in one of the stylist chairs and we consulted about what I usually do with my hair and what I would like done. Then, I was whisked away to get my hair washed and blowdried by Mercedes. The conversation with other patrons and the staff was nice. The vibe in this salon was amazing. Adrian came over to cut and style my hair after he was finished with his previous client, (her hot pink peek-a-boo bangs were on point if I do say so myself.) Let me tell you, when Adrian does hair it is a labor of love. He was amazing with my texture, keeping length but also prioritizing my hair health, the cut, the style, the finishing touch of adding volume and laying those baby hairs just right!
