We stay in an Airbnb for a little over a week while in SXM and we prefer to cook most of our meals. Super U is a large grocery store with a large selection and we are able to get everything we need there. The meat and produce sections are amazing and we didn't feel that the prices were much more than what we pay in the US. Visitors from the US will want to be aware of the hours because they are not open as long as we are accustomed to in the US. Overall it is a great shopping experience. read more

I reviewed this supermarket 3 months ago. Nothing has improved. It is astonishing and astounding how poorly supplied this store is.... remains like shopping in Russia. They routinely run out of the most basic staples such as milk, eggs, lettuce, canned tuna, onions, yoghurt, mushrooms... the list goes on. And, they don't just run out of these for days. No, at times it is for weeks. You would think they could apply some ingenuity to their supply chain issues... apparently not. Grocery stores on the Dutch side of the island are always fully stocked. It's such an irritant and a waste that I have to drive 25 minutes to grocery stores there to get basic items that one finds easily in grocery stores around the world. Whoever manages Super U needs to find a new career. read more

I gave this grocery store many chances since the food is good and prices are decent for the location. Unfortunately the cashier make the difference, in a bad way. I absolutely LOOOVE shopping at Super U! Everything is so affordable and even the store brand items are quality products! You can get double the items here as you can with Grand Marche! And, if you pay with cash, it's $1:1€ !!!! What a steal! The cookies are to die for! However, I docked half a star because the parking lot is super narrow. Other than that, no complaints! I suggest going early in the morning or midday... the crowd can get outrageous here, so much that they are stocking while we shop after work! Lines get backed up into the frozen isle. read more

Possibly the best super market on the island. It is well stocked with foreign products, well air conditioned and many of the expat locals will choose it as their weekend grocery stop. read more
