Shopping there made me wish that I had cooked at our B and B several nights. They have a great wine selection of wines from the region, big bottles of pastis, wonderful charcuterie and cheese selection, their produce is wonderful as is their awesome selection of French goodies. My wife wanted to bring the store home with us. Also, an added bonus everyone spoke English which was very helpful as our French is rudimentary at best.

Prices seemed reasonable, and…read morethough the store is small by US standards, it had plenty of things to stock a kitchen for a few days of cooking. Produce was fresh, and there was a good selection of regional cheeses. If you can get over to the local market (Les Halles), that's where you'll find amazing meats and cheese and chocolates (all a bit pricey), but Carrefour is quick and convenient. Bring or purchase bags to carry your stuff in. And remember ... eggs aren't in the refrigerated cases here. They've also got a decent selection of beer.

In case you didn't know, most of the French shop in these megastores which include Auchun, Carrefour, and E. Leclerc. This location is in a mall in which there are clothing boutiques, an Orange mobile store, pharmacy, and even a Subway. You can literally spend hours in here without realizing it. Make sure you know what to get because once you leave a department, then it's a looooooong walk to back for the forgotten eggs. I speak from experience =) Bring your own bags and pack your own bags. No one will help but they will wait patiently until you move out of the way. Oh, and there's a McD's outside!
