The food was beautifully presented, incredibly delicious, and honestly one of the highlights of our wedding. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful and special. This wasn't just wedding food. This was **EPIC**. Chef Andy handled everything from start to finish, which meant my husband and I had one less major thing to worry about on a day when there were about a thousand moving parts. That alone was priceless. He and his team were professional, organized, gracious and simply incredible. I've been to a lot of events over the years, and I always remember the food, especially when it's really good. Kalei's is one I will remember for a very long time. When your guests are still talking about the food days later, you know you chose the right caterer. Thank you, Chef Andy and Khara and the entire Kalei's Kitchenette team, for helping make our wedding so memorable. You didn't just feed our guests. You WOWED them.

We were planning an upscale backyard engagement party with a Hawaiian theme and the food from Kalei's just took it to the next level. But what put our experience over the top was the superior customer service. Just wonderful to work with! Highly recommend.

It was genuinely such a pleasure to work with the Flavor Chef Catering team for our wedding earlier…read morethis year. Throughout the process, we communicated primarily with Madison, who was always kind, thoughtful, and professional during our interactions. Based on our research of catering teams in the northern San Diego County area, we were already leaning towards Flavor Chef based on their reasonable prices and menu. The team was able to fit us in at the last minute for a tasting, which is what truly sealed the deal. Everything we tasted was delectable, but more importantly, the team treated us with kindness and respect. Chef Derek explained every detail of the dishes and was incredibly accommodating if we wanted to tweak anything. For example, we had a few vegetarians and vegans attending the wedding, and the team was able to make about 10-15% of the appetizers (pork belly bao buns, bacon-wrapped dates, and poke crisps) suitable for these attendees. We also wanted the citrus flavor of the salmon to be stronger, so the team made a note to add more squeezed Valencia orange and to add more citrus-infused oil on top of the salmon. Our guests also raved about our food on the wedding day. Among the standouts were the bacon-wrapped dates, citrus risotto, and beef short-ribs. Several people went back for seconds. One of our guests wrote in our wedding album, "the food was actually good!" He later told us that he had been to plenty of weddings where the food fell short. He said what stood out about our buffet menu was that the ingredients were simple and locally sourced but expertly crafted and incredibly flavorful. We also had a goal of mango sticky rice as one of our desserts, which a family friend was helping us with. Even though the Flavor Chef team was not directly involved in this dessert, they were willing to cut all the mangoes fresh on site for no extra charge to make sure the mangoes didn't oxidize before dessert time, which we were incredibly grateful for. We also rented dishes and utensils from Flavor Chef at a more competitive rate than was being offered by the venue's recommended rental company. Flavor Chef also included vendor meals for a fraction of the price of the buffet meal, which really helped us with our budget. At every step of our interactions with Flavor Chef, we felt the team went above and beyond to make our day as special and memorable as possible. We would highly recommend Flavor Chef to anybody considering them for their special event. The quality of the food and the kindness of the staff speak for themselves!

Extremely disappointing customer service from Taquizas Los Chuchys…read more We booked them for our daughter's first birthday party, but unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute because our one year old became seriously ill with a highly contagious respiratory illness. Our doctor confirmed that others could have contracted it, including the catering staff. We made the responsible decision not to expose 50+ guests and their employees to a potentially serious illness. We understood that our ~$300 deposit was nonrefundable. We weren't asking for our money back, only whether it could be applied toward a future event. Despite the exceptional circumstances, the company refused to offer any flexibility whatsoever. What made the experience particularly disappointing was the customer service. Communication felt dismissive and discourteous from the beginning. Both my husband and I attempted to call, and I sent multiple messages explaining the situation. We were told someone would call us, but no one did. When we followed up, the manager, who later identified herself as an owner, stated that she would only communicate by email and that her decision was final. To make matters worse, despite confirming our cancellation, their taquero still showed up at our home on the day of the event. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies and expenses. However, I also believe that compassion, professionalism, and reasonable consideration of extraordinary circumstances are important parts of customer service, especially when you're paying premium prices. We chose to prioritize the health and safety of our daughter, our guests, and their employees, and ultimately lost ~$300 for doing so. Very disappointing experience, especially during what should have been a happy milestone for our family. We will not be using their services in the future.

Having so many important elements coordinated through one team made the planning process significantly easier and gave us peace of mind. Their packages included florals, food, dessert, DJ, decorations, an assigned wedding coordinator, and even options for wedding photography and an officiant (although we selected our own for these 2 categories). It was wonderful having everything thoughtfully organized in one place rather than having to discover and coordinate numerous vendors separately. Our wedding coordinator, Chuck Ferrante, was fantastic throughout the process. He was extremely detailed, reliable, and had excellent communication throughout the entire planning process.
