Go early! They do sell out of flavors. You don't have to inside Mother Road Market, order from the end of the trailer outside. I ordered a full flight (one of each) and a couple of sausage rolls. These donuts are superb. Light and airy on the inside with the slightest crisp on the outside. They may be loaded with toppings but they still were not overly sweet, which I greatly appreciated. My favorite was the E.V. Simple. Spices and sugar. Just being the two of us we can't eat all 6 giant donuts at once, but they heated up nicely for 20 sec in the microwave. Delicious once more. Now, that sausage roll! OMG! Bursting with flavor. A little spicy. We like it, but be aware of you're not a fan of spicy. Perfectly cooked in puff pastry and topped with everything seasoning. Went to see what the hype was about a few weeks ago and became very disappointed. Sausage rolls were bland and tasted horrible. Got 4 things just for it to be over $30 and disgusting. A friend of mine posted SSD & I asked how long were they up there on location because I'm used to them setting up as pop-ups. Come to find out they're stationed at Foolish so I made sure come check them out soon. Fast forward, here I am speaking on the sausage roll & maple bacon donut. The sausage roll isn't your average. It's like a whole Polish sausage for your personal needs sitting inside of a flaky everything bagel seasoned-like pastry. I'm quick to add mustard & there was no need, I'm glad I didn't end up using some. The donut sections gave me a hard time because all of them would be something I'd like to try then & there. Birthday Cake, Biscoff, Orange Dream... Those were a few of the selections that were available. I went with the maple bacon because I'll never pass up bacon. A real real big donut, nice & fluffy on the inside. The right amount of maple, the big piece of bacon was great. SSD is known for having all kinds of selections on rotation, on the regular. Pros: for a short period of time, my coworker was obsessed with this place. So I decided to give it a try. She liked all the different flavors of donuts and the sausage rolls. I appreciate all the new and innovative flavors. Fills the void left by Hurts donuts. Cons: my husband and I didn't realize this was a whole experience. Short lines but very long wait times. Took 25 minutes to order and then by the time we left the place we were there a total of 55 minutes. I recommend ordering ahead. But even you'll be waiting when you get there. We didn't like the texture of the very dry donuts. I mainly scraped the tops and ate that. Sausage rolls were lovely looking. Very weird flavor. Super expensive for donuts. read more

Finally writing an overdue review for SSD. As a PSA, they have moved from their place at Foolish Things Coffee and taken over the trailer at MRM. They seem to be selling out at this location pretty regularly, so be sure NOT to wait until MRM opens at 11am to try and get ur fix. They open much earlier and you can access them without going inside MRM. Now on to the products. First I DO love their brioche style donuts. This morning got a couple of their limited edition blue corn mush donuts and as usual they knocked it out of the park. But believe it or not, I don't generally go there for the donuts but their incredibly addicting sausage rolls. James loves his sausage rolls and I've tried different variants across the country in my travels. Imagine my surprise that one of the best in the country is made right here in Tulsa. They make their own sausage, which is crazy delicious, and I am not sure what the outside dough is but it works just so well with the sausage. A little stone ground mustard and you have a culinary treat that is near impossible to beat. Summing up, the donuts are worth the hype but for me the sausage rolls are NOT to be missed. The Zi was the clear winner for us! I loved the salt with the sweet. All of the donuts were great. I would not recommend the sausage but that could be just a pure taste preference. I've been a fan from the beginning when Milton was selling his fantastic donuts at Heirloom Acres and MRM. If you can't decide which donut to try for the first time, go with the Zi - brown butter icing and salted caramel drizzle. It's the perfect blend of sugar and salt! The donuts are large enough to split between 2 people so buy a variety box and try them all. If you're lucky enough to stop in when he's made donut holes, the sugar and spice are a perfect cinnamon sugar blend with a hint of salt that hits all the flavor notes. He's always introducing new seasonal flavors with pumpkin in October and November and recently created savory donuts. I'm a huge garlic fan so I had to try the garlic butter donut - signature brioche square filled with a garlic cream and topped with roasted garlic and fresh parmesan, then torched. He also introduced a British-style sausage rolls with puff pastry. They now have a permanent spot inside Foolish Things off 10th St, near the downtown TCC, so you can grab your donuts and delicious coffee and tea from FT. We visited the location at Foolish Things Coffee. The owner worked with us to take our order and he was friendly and accommodating. We tried one of each of the four gourmet donuts they were offering on this weekend. The cinnamon sugar donut was by far the favorite, it was soft, fresh, and perfectly balanced with flavor. The orange creamsicle was also very fresh with just the right amount of orange that didn't taste artificial or anything. The brown sugar caramel was delicious and not overly sweet. The oreo cream donut was good but i wish the cream filling would have either been less airy or more flavorful. Overall they were all very good and very soft. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for something better than a standard big box donut. These are pricier but you truly get something unique and fresh. I wish they would split off from the coffee shop though that i think is holding them back. read more

We tried these donuts for the first time and were disappointed. There is sooo much unflavored bread-like dough that it makes it hard to enjoy the donut. They are not sweet at all, doesnt satisfy a sweet tooth :(, and they are overpriced. Each donut is $4.50. My husband and I found this place because he was searching for a great donut. We aren't from here so tracking it down was an adventure on its own.
