They have a fairly decent selection of grocery here, so you're bound to find what you're looking for. Our cashier was a very friendly woman. She was polite and talkative. It was very refreshing to experience service with a smile. If I were ever to come back to Vicksburg, I would definitely do my shopping here again.

County Market does have 2 things going for it: It is the only grocery store on that part of town (this is the only grocery store for some people in the neighborhood who don't have transportation) and some of their sales are really good. Many of their prices beat Walmart's by a mile. On the other hand YOU MUST pay attention to what you buy there because County Market is quick to sell stuff that is out-of-date or just plan spoiled. It is not good to go to a grocery store time and time again and the place smells of rotten meat, or there is rotten produce right in plan view. I once went to buy fresh turnip greens and they were actually YELLOW with black spots on them!!! Really? Nobody saw that? County Market needs to do better, but since they really don't have any competition, will they?

In fact, I lined up all the bar codes for easy access as I needed to get out quickly. I had someone at my home who had surgery this day and needed a prescription from Walmart Pharmacy. I also needed groceries. After placing my items on the checkout and waiting for some time. I asked the clerk what was the problem? She said the computer/register was not working but had help coming to start the register. My friend with me said you should move to another register. I had everything so organized I waited a bit more for this register. I stated my urgent need to get home and this man working at another register said let me help you. I can get you checked out and on your way. So many times at Walmart the only employee speaking is the greeter when you first enter the store. Well, I want to Thank Mr. John Donovan and I hope the Walmart management team reads this and recognizes him. Three of us ordered some version of a BLT and it was sooo delicious! My son ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and he loved it. Now, the negative, they've ruined all other BLTs for me. The amount of bacon they used, took this very basic American staple, and shot it through the roof. I felt like a queen eating this sandwich. My husband and kids all got delicious smoothies too. The restaurant feels like a country hole in the wall and I LOVED IT. I would absolutely make this a regular stop on my crossing country journeys.
