Everyone was so friendly, the menu had a wonderful variety and our selections did not disappoint. My taco salad was made with fresh veggies, delicious seasoned beef and yummy guacamole! Although it was served warm so we each had a bite before packing it up. It was everything a homemade peach cobbler should be . We will be back!

I was heading home from Texas to Georgia when I had to pull over at a pilot to fill up on gas. I…read morewas hungry, so I checked to see what was around me and not too far next-door was a restaurant that I probably never would have went into just by looking over but I promise you it was worth it. When first going inside there is what looks to be like a small general store and the opening to a bar right behind it with people sitting having drinks and talking but more of a country cabin feel bar to it. I kind of felt out of place but went in anyway and asked if they were still serving. They said sure come on in and order at the register with the menu and then just have a seat in the room next-door, which had tables and chairs felt like picnic table and chairs, or you could sit on a chair near the bar which I did because it seemed kind of cold with the air condition blowing in the dining room area. I was skeptical as if it was a local joint because people kept looking over at me but I'm glad I didn't run. I ordered a 9 ounce ribeye and it was one of the best steaks. I think I have ever tasted outside of the near the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was so juicy and flavorful. I wish it was closer to my house. It would be a weekly meal. I believe the price was like $29 and you had, two side items. I started out with a Louisiana style gumbo, which was very good and tasty but the star of this show with the steak. While eating the cook came out over to my table and asked how everything was and with my mouth full of tender juicy steak, I could just shake my head and she would just laugh. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and had so much flavor with the perfectly cooked pink center . I normally prefer fillet mignon because there is not much fat and I don't care for fat, but I caught myself not only I say sucking on the little fat pieces but actually eating some of it if it had a little meat on it. As my sides, I picked green beans and Black Eyed Peas and it came with a cornbread muffin which I carried with me and ate in the car on the way home. The cornbread muffin was sweet and cake like so I'm glad I didn't get dessert because this was just nice. Yes yes yes a nice steak, and it brought all the Texan out in me. I hope I can find this restaurant again on my travel back to my mom's from Georgia.

Three of us ordered some version of a BLT and it was sooo delicious! My son ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and he loved it. Now, the negative, they've ruined all other BLTs for me. The amount of bacon they used, took this very basic American staple, and shot it through the roof. I felt like a queen eating this sandwich. My husband and kids all got delicious smoothies too. The restaurant feels like a country hole in the wall and I LOVED IT. I would absolutely make this a regular stop on my crossing country journeys.

Daughter loved the fried catfish, my friend green tomato BLT with avocado was delicious and the salad way very vinegar forward, which is how I like it. Be prepared though. There is no AC. I see why my aunt enjoys this place when she decides to come out. I jokingly said to our server sprinkle a little something extra on auntie it's on me and before we left the staff surprised her with a piece of cheesecake and they sang Happy Birthday. We went there specifically for the cheesecake and she got a piece. I loved being surrounded by the dollars with messages as well. One in particular placed there in 2026 said something along the lines of "keep going". The message was right on time, I lost my father in February and a good sign here and there keeps me going. We arrived after lunch so it wasn't too busy. We had the back area to ourselves while we celebrated her and had good food and dessert. I will be back the next time I'm in town. Thank you to everyone on the staff at Toney's for making this day a special one for my aunt. 80

Well this was my first time visiting The Scoop, and I can only review the malt that I had. All I…read morecan say is OMG it was great! I had a butterscotch, roasted pecan, double malted malt, and it was fantastic. The ice cream is very good quality and that plays a great part in the overall flavor. Few places make actual malts these days, but this place does and they are good at it too. The young man that served me could have played the low talker on an episode of Seinfeld, as I had to lean all the way across the counter to hear what he was saying, and I get that some people are just very shy; but other than that I really enjoyed the ice cream. Will definitely be going back even though it means traveling from Madison to get it.

I first stumbled across this place entirely by accident while in COVID isolation on DoorDash at the…read moreAmericorps campus, and was shocked to see any Indian on DoorDash considering the nearest place on Google was in Jackson. Ordering from a gas station I was unsurprisingly raising my eyebrow wondering how good this stuff could actually be- but don't let the exterior fool you, this is some of the best Indian food you'll get in the South. The butter chicken was delightfully spicy, perfect on a sick day but not too much that I was coughing any more than I already was. I came again a few months later and got the same order and had a tailgate in the back of my truck, and while it took a while to make it was worth every bite. And that's the blessing of this place, the food takes a while but it's worth every second, everything is freshly cooked and well textured. If you don't like bone-in chicken I will say this isn't necessarily a place I'd recommend. The chicken curry and the tikka masala both were bone-in when I had them, but that doesn't necessarily bother me (it's how it should be!). Every food they offer is perfect and they will always cater it to your spice level. There isn't a listed menu and what's available changes daily, so you either have to check their Facebook page (spice and curry on FB) or DoorDash to see what's available, but the staff will be equally receptive if you order in the restaurant. It's the kind of place that I'd be at regularly if I lived in Vicksburg, because even with how good the food was, the staff are quick to make conversation and be friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who's having a craving for Indian food passing through Vicksburg, it's as good as it gets! Also make sure to get the mango lassi when they have it, it's great.
