Many of the restaurants here in town are closed on Mondays, so we were glad there was a spot open and this place had pretty good reviews. We would've popped for the pizza because it looked amazing, but neither of us can eat such thick crust pizza anymore and not regret it so we went for the Mexican options My husband ordered the super chicken burrito, which basically has two big scoops of chicken and fillings and he said it was very good I just went for a small taco salad with chicken to keep it late tonight. For a small taco salad, there was a lot of food in that bowl. I think most of the town was here tonight ordering up pizza, lol so if you can eat pizza, I would go for that The bill was very reasonable at $17 total before tip. Very kind servers - pinball machine and really interesting decor It's worth a stop if you're coming thru here.

They have a great variety of flavors to choose from and they will load up your bowl or cone with a ton of ice cream. My favorite flavors include java chip, cookie dough, & bourbon pecan. They also serve dole whip soft serve and sundaes as well! If you are in town, this shop is a must try during a hot day but they are only open seasonally so keep an eye out on their social media for updated hours!

So, I said I'd be back in to talk with the manger in a few days (as I live 30 mins. and wouldn't be back in town till then). What irked me is the way the cashier handled it and treated me--like I was trying to scam them or something! I'm sure it was an honest mistake on their end and I wasn't mad, just wanted my money back. Not a big deal... any who, I'm hoping it'll work out okay in the end...but I probably won't go back, strictly based on the way they treated me....huh, happy I got that venting out :) ....I feel better now, ha!

I left Iowa in 1998, but when I did live here, when ever I had the hunger for pizza, it was ALWALYS the Chicken Alfrado pizza at the Other Place. There was just nothing better. Now, I haven'y been in Iowa for some time, but recent events brought me back, and I found myself in Clear Lake. A lot has changed. I drive down Main St and see all the changes. Does anyone remember Jerry Krause, who used to own the old truck stop that was called "Milepost 194" who eventually sold it, and then bought the Town Pump bar on Main? Anyway, back to the Other Place. It's been 28 years since I had their Chicken Alfrado pizza, and I knew that being back in town that I just had to have one again. I have to say. The one I got served Friday, was NOT like I remembered. It was dry. I couldn't even tell there was alfredo sauce on the pizza? it seemed like crust, chicken and cheese. Granted, there was plenty of cheese and chicken, but the lack of sauce was dissapointing. I don't know if the alfredo sauce is made in house, or if it's brought in. maybe their destributor changed over the years, and they can't get the same sauce that they used 28 years ago. Maybe the business changed ownership and changes were made. I don't know. What I can tell you is that back in 1998, the Alfredo Chicken pizza was AMAZING. It was my go to. It was best thing on the menu. It was what I recommended to everyone I knew. The pizza I had during my recent visit was just.... Meh...
