Restroom door in the lobby

Without question the filthiest motel I ever stayed in. The first room I was given the bathroom stunk of raw sewage is badly I had to keep the door shut. Overall the room was dusty. The bathroom vent was dirty. The towels and washcloths were dingy gray. The bedspread had a number of large cigarette burns in it. The second room I was given, had a dirty washcloth hanging on the towel rack in the shower. The room was dusty. The bedspread looked like someone had used it to change the oil in their car. I stripped it off the bed and took it to the front desk and demanded a new one. They gave me a brand new one, which makes me wonder why if they had new bedspreads they weren't using them. I actually went to Walmart and bought my own towels, washcloths, pillow and pillow cases because I wouldn't use theirs. This place is a health hazard!

The bed bent in half when my husband try to lay on it

This place is DISGUSTING! From Christy the receptionist smoking outside when we pulled to her lying about giving us a refund after we checked into our rooms and they were awful! 1st Room no hot water & shower wouldn't drain. The outlets didn't work 2nd Room bed broken(called Christy she said she would send maintenance knowing dam well they don't have maintenance), hole in ceiling above toilet leaking water and black stuff onto toilet, tub disgusting, shower head broken, holes in walls

DO NOT STAY HERE PLEEEEEASE. For the love of god. If it is the last thing you do. My boyfriend and I checked in and then left for three hours or so. When we got back, five minutes after being there, my boyfriend was on the bed and I see a bug on the pillow. I KNOW what bed bugs look like and this was a bed bug. See pic below. We immediately left and went to the holiday inn next door and haven't had any issues. We should've known better but I've booked $70-$80 hotels that are clean and decent. This place however is just the worst. From the outside it looks fine and there are somehow a couple good reviews, but do NOT let this deceive you. I would quite literally rather sleep on the streets, you would have better luck doing that than staying here.

Blood????????

Honestly, one word comes to mind; dump. I can't believe that Super 8 has their name on this place. Stopped drain, poor wi-fi, OLD saggy mattresses, DIRTY, standard def TV, rugs dirty tables/remote, VERY old style (separate) faucets that didn't work right allowing you to get burned, and just general overall LACK of maintenance. Maybe.........20 years ago it was ok, but for $80, not worth it. Oh yeah, I forgot, maybe blood on the table??????? I will be contacting Super 8 after this review.

This is what was in the envelope.

Rooms in need of remodeling, very dirty stairs and outside hallways. Breakfast was a joke.

The booking to make a reservation was so easy at this Holiday Inn in comparison to the Holiday Inn…read morein Horse Cave City, KY. If one calls the number, it goes straight to the front desk, not to a reservations call center. Good first impression. Had checked in to this hotel for business and it was some way in from the road that it is towards the back of a bunch of businesses on a side street. You have to use a middle of the road turning lane to get to it if coming from I-75 (I hate unprotected turns, much prefer a signal light). It is right next door to a Super 8. When I entered, the gal on staff (4:30 p.m. on 3/18) was super nice. She was able to get my reservation up and assign me a room. I noticed, however, that when I reached my room, the lock was holding the door open. I went back down to ask and she stated that when cleaning crew do that, it is to alert another among them to replace towels. I told her this and she immediately left her post and came with me to resolve the issue. She even gave me two cookies for free (not sure if cookies are free anyway. They look like the free ones, one to a plastic sealed pouch and they were GOOD.) After entering the room, it was definitely spacious, much bigger than the other Holiday Inn I stayed at in Horse Cave City, KY. The distance from the bed to the t.v. was a lot and the entry way had its own room and to the left was the bathroom. The bathroom has a shower stall instead of a bath tub (which I like). One other thing I like about this bathroom is that the toilet paper rolls are right next to the toilet. OMG!!! You do not know how many hotels there are where the toilet paper is like steps away to get or in some awkward place where one has to contort in order to get to. The breakfast was not bad either. It has all the hot and cold foods one would find. Specifically, I just want to point out that the sausage pork patties at this location are done well! Props to the individual who puts out the breakfast. They were brown and crispy, not still grey and floppy. This location does not have turkey sausage patties, however, and does not have the egg beater yellow eggs as an option either. This is just something I noticed in comparison to the Holiday Inn in Horse Cave City, KY. Four issues I found: There is no trashcan next to the coffee machine area. There is one trashcan near the desk area (near the t.v.) and one trashcan near the bathroom. It was kind of inconvenient to have to walk from the coffee area to either of these spots to throw anything away. The shower stall door, the one closest to the shower head, one cannot get to immediately after entering the bathroom. The door radius basically takes up all the space and so one has to enter through the second sliding door towards the back of the shower. With sliding door showers, I always have the door with the handle on the outside as the front and the one with the handle, inside, towards the back. One cannot have it this way because of the radius of the door opening and covering the front part. The breakfast area, where the hot tubs (LOL...because hot tubs should be located in the pool area) are with the biscuits and gravy, pork sausage, and white omelets are located; who in the heck designed that layout? Like other hotels I have been to, one has to hold the lid open, spoon the item into a plate, while also holding the plate and hope the lid does not fall back down to cover the hot tub. Maybe make more counterspace so that one can put a plate down and be able to hold the lid of the hot tub while spooning the item onto the plate? I do not have three hands! The elevators did not have inspection certificates in them.

We didn't have our pup with us so it didn't matter to us however for anyone that books a room through a website specifically for a pet friendly location they will be very disappointed when they arrive with their pet and then turned away without a refund. The room was basic but clean.

So my second experience here was not too bad; however, still some issues. I was able to check in…read moreand get a king size bed room on the 1st floor (hated climbing the stairs the first time). The room has a couch in the entry way, king sized bed (photo 9 out of 108) and a really nice looking shower in the bathroom (photo 29 out of 108). The issues I have found on my first day here is that the spray from the sink goes off to the side (room 23) and the t.v., though a big improvement to the cable package since last time (has travel channel, Discovery, etc.) has a set volume. Every time I hit the volume button, it has two options (shows icons of headphones and tv), but the increase and decrease of the volume is only shown over the headset icon. From the remote itself, I cannot cursor to the t.v. icon (which is how I think could increase the volume) and so I have to stay with a set low volume. It kind of aggravated me. Apparently, it seems like it is random. In the morning, the volume changed over to speakers. Weird. The breakfast today was great. The sausage patties were cooked well. They also have cheese omelets which makes this location unique. The only item I did not see was yogurt (which I do not usually eat anyway, but I see at other hotels). The juice dispenser has four options (orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water). I always love taking the cranberry juice if its an option. The breakfast board, that lists out the items for what will be put out for breakfast every day is a bit misleading though. They have sausage patty listed for one day and the rest they have "sausage." I thought it may have been sausage links, but I had just seen sausage patties. One might as well take the time to write the whole two words out. It would have been nice to see sausage links though to change things up.

This motel is very nice. Modern and clean. GREAT customer service. I highly recommend a stay.read more

The first visit we stayed during covid in December so it was just our group of 4 and one other couple staying in the resort. It was nice because it felt so private. We stayed in the resort rooms and we were surprised with how nice they are. Everything was clean. It was a bit small but we made it work. The second visit we stayed in their cabins and preferred it more. we got 2 bedrooms and each one had 2 beds so all of us slept comfortably. I loved that the cabin comes with a full kitchen and table so we spent our night playing board games. The park itself has so much to do. There are tons of hiking trails, horseback riding and even boat tours that take you up close to the waterfall. You have to go to the Moon bow at least once in your lifetime. It's when the moon hits the water at the right angle and you see a rainbow at night. It is a cool experience but it does get really crowded so you may want to come early. Cumberland Falls gave me unrealistic expectations for state parks because this what I feel like most state parks should be like.

The trail was a bit slick, but really just strolled to hit the different overlooks for different angles of the surging waters. Snagged a sundae from the snack shop and some gifts from the shop. Apparently the only place to see a Moonbow near the full moon in the Western Hemisphere, so that's pretty special!
