Filthy. Desk was unmanned. Toilet didn't work. Grime everywhere. I immediately left and checked into a better hotel.

Man at the front desk was taking a personal call when we tried to check in. Didn't speak to us for 15 minutes and was chewing/spitting tobacco in front of us. He also did not speak much english and therefore could not tell us where our room was or what the wifi was. Bathroom lightbulb was out, the air conditioning didn't fully work, and the lock on the inside of the door was smashed and broken. The only upside was that it was visibly clean. read more

The condition of this building makes me question how they are able to operate this as a business. I've read nightmare review after nightmare review after foolishly booking a room through Wyndham's website. The negative reviews speak for themselves, but I figured pictures would do this more justice... Unless your going for a derelict aesthetic, catching some transmissible disease, or at the very least want bed bugs... you SHOULD AVOID THIS BUILDING LIKE THE ACTUAL PLAGUE. There was no redeeming quality from this encounter. The property management lacked any/all hospitality skills. I didn't know it would be so hard to get a refund on a product which not only was in poor condition, but blatantly misadvertised the hotels available amenities and condition. When they refused to try to solve the issue, I was told that I'd have to take it up with Wyndham. While on the phone with Wyndham customer service a worker walked out of their room and said I wasn't allowed to walk around the property nor photograph the building even though I was still a "paying customer" at that point (thanks to them refusing to refund me). She stated that Wyndham knew they're renovating the building. Don't trust the images they have posted on their site. I camped 4 days prior to arriving at this facility... I actually felt cleaner and safer sleeping on the dirt amongst some bugs, rather than taking my chance in this building. Don't be fooled though, the renovations have started... They have a beautiful little office booth when you walk in AND they did invest in cameras throughout their hallways. (Apparently they prize their own possessions more than customer satisfaction and maintaining a functioning business) By the end of this ordeal and having to involve the police, I was hoping that I'd just awake from a nightmare... But reality can sometimes be more horrifying than a nightmare. Seriously don't stay here if you value your own health and/or sanity. Unless you realize it's so gross that you will likely contract something due to their mismanagement, and possibly be able to win some money in court. If the motel business doesn't work out here, it would make for an EXCELLENT haunted house. They wouldn't have to renovate the building if they just pivot to a haunted house either. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Stained bedsheets, bathroom was horrible. Paint peeling everywhere. Beds were the worst- springs sticking outinto our backs. Like seriously. ALL I NEED is a bed to get a solid 8 and can't even get that? This place is atrocious. Door would not shut and lock was busted. So yeah. There's that as well. How is this place even open?? read more

Stopped by here on the way to Mt Rushmore. It's a nice hotel for a 2 star rating and great on the price. The staff here worked hard to provide good customer service and even went out of their way to escort us to our room. The owner was the person on duty I think and he made sure we knew where the breakfast room was and how to navigate the hotel. The review about need bugs seemed to worry me but I looked the mattress over and checked behind the headboard and the place was fine. The room even had new carpeting. read more

He wouldn't give us the managers number and wouldn't give us a first floor room upon request, even after switching rooms because we got locked out of our room three different times with a handicapped guest they still put us on the second floor twice. Bedbugs and a smoking room when we requested nonsmoking. We were in town for a marathon. Arrived late due to being at a multiple marathon event. Yes, it is the Super 8 and what can you expect but at the VERY least when you request a nonsmoking room you should get one. The manager had a child and left it while doing something and unfortunately the child's screams could be heard down the hall for over an hour. read more

We stayed here four nights. The room we stayed in was small and felt dingy but did have a microwave and a very adequate sized refrigerator. The bath room had no counter, just a sink. We were in the basement and it seemed that all of the basement rooms were much lower quality. Stay away from them. Service was difficult and was lacking. The gentleman running the front desk meant well but there was an extreme language barrier which made him unapproachable. Our room never received clean sheets each day until we pushed directly. Even then the linens felt dirty and uncrisp. Breakfast was good but the juice machine remained broken for the majority of our trip and often did not start on time (up to 1 hour late) Their coffee / expresso machine was awesome though! read more

Wow, where do I begin with this hotel?! I have stayed at other Super 8's that have been really nice, but this hotel should be shut down by the state. It is a dump! The staff do not speak good English, and kind of were creepy, but the room itself was what scared me. The lock on the door was broke, smoke alarm was hanging by one thread, and the staff apparently do not do much cleaning ever. A toothbrush was shoved down the sink so it didn't drain properly, but you couldn't get it out. Also, everything was falling apart and either broken or on the verge of it. The bed my dad slept on was broke, and he could put one knee on it, and it about tips over (he is also a measly 130lbs so I would hate to see a bigger person sit on the edge or else they would end up on the floor!) Don't expect much for breakfast as there is toast, a waffle machine, juice/coffee, and that was about it. I hope I save some people the trouble because I would try every other hotel in town before I slept here. My dad and I made reservations because we were in town for a race, but the few other runners we met said the same thing... Super 8 sucks. Heck, I would rather sleep under the stars than at this disgusting establishment, and it takes a hotel to be absolutely horrible before I say that! read more

This hotel was old, smelly and poorly maintained. The lobby and hallways were not climate controlled. You were certainly not guaranteed hot water for your shower. The housekeeping was mediocre at best. Sheets were not changed, beds were simply remade. Our toilet was not cleaned during our stay. Trash from previous guests was found under the bed. The "breakfast" was terrible with few options and spoiled milk. Pool was filled with a garden hose that was constantly left in the pool. There were never any towels in the pool area, you were required to track down an employee to get any. read more

More than solid place to stay. Very obvious that the staff really cares and goes out of their way! Clean, safe rooms with some nice things like accented walls and large black and white photos of local scenery. The make up remover by the sink was very helpful and complimentary breakfast is a nice touch. It's a 2 star kinda place but very comfortable and hospitable. We also were scared by the review mentioning bedbugs..but we flipped the mattresses and didn't find anything. Pillows were very comfy and HBO happened to be playing game of thrones, which in my book is always a good thing! Would stay here again, for sure. read more

Would not recommend. We found dirty sheets on one of the beds in our room. In the morning when we woke up to take a shower we found three small blood stains on the bottom of our shower curtain. The staff was very nice and offered us a new shower curtain or a different room to use but we just packed our things and left. read more

Booked hotel through online source, so check in was easy. However, strong language barrier, made conversation difficult. Room was extremely small on lower level. Furnishings seemed to be dated, little to "write home about". Chair broken in room. Door entering room had been damaged and wouldn't shut unless you put your weight into closing it. Sheets didn't fit well on bed. Breakfast was basic. Nothing really to accommodate gluten free (except coffee and banana). Wouldn't stay here again! Have 3 emails and 4 phone calls and am just told the manager will look into it over and over. Borderline illegal business practices. If you need a handicap room, do NOT stay here. They put in grab bars that could not be used and called it accessible. Had to ask for a bar of soap and no counter with the sink. A very small room downstairs and hard to move around in the space with a wheelchair. Only satisfactory thing was the breakfast. (Very good waffles and biscuits and gravy.) read more

Scurvy - first room had rotten food in fridge that was shut off room smelled terrible! Place is dirty... Pool is down right creepy made my wife and kids super uncomfortable... Room, hallway and external Doors had issues - they were too cheap to plug in AC's in hall ways it was steamy... The lights in room didn't work real great and the breakfast was waffles or cereal no other choices... Front desk people were nice but the place needs some help! Had a construction crew staying there that really made my wife uncomfortable enough I carried my piece rest of the stay... read more

Very Clean, Staff is very good and accommodating with anything you need. Peter is the best. Great guy, fun to talk to. Would definitly stay again! Stayed for a week to watch the eclipse. read more
