As the shop cleverly observes, 'only you know how you like your food.' The concept is that the customer enters the shop and creates their own jacket potato, sandwich or salad from self service counters. Not the most original idea, I grant you. But the quality of the ingredients are sublime. The freshness and superiority of the flavours, alongside their expertly prepared pasta salads, well mixed dressings and fresh bread, all work together perfectly in gastronomic matrimony.
The soups and hot specials are also consistently delicious. Recently, I sampled a red pepper, tomato and Wensleydale soup and it was sensational. Not quite hungry enough to try the neighbouring beef stew with Yorkshire pudding, I was sorely tempted, powered by sheer gluttony.
The menu of sandwiches has been thoughtfully composed, omitting predictable options and replacing them with innovative combinations. My personal favourite is the Politician.
