When I first contacted our realtor I was upfront and told her we needed to move soon, we didnt have a preapproval and our credit certainly needed some help. She said she was going to call someone that she knew who was really good with people in our situation. Enter Jodi Perry. When she first called me I almost didn't call her back because I felt like the situation was hopeless. I am so glad that I did. We had so much up against us but she systematically worked through each challenge we had in acquiring a mortgage. After she looked at our credit she told me exactly what to do to improve it. I think this was routine advice she has given to people but I actually listened. She had no way of knowing if dealing with me would end with us securing a loan. Her work could have been for nothing, with no sale or commission in the end. Yet she still answered my calls. All of them, even on weekends. She answered every question I had and I worked at it. With her advice our score got high enough to get a 3.65% interest rate in about 6 weeks. Much lower than the 5%+ interest rate that Navy Federal was advertising. The next issue was getting through the fact that my husband had been 1099 for several years. Although he was now on W2 we didn't have much to show for it as most of his income comes in the form of bonuses. That causes it's own issues but she never gave up on me. Then came the coronavirus. The coronavirus started closing down stores and schools and then one day, the clerk. You can't but a house if the clerk is closed. Thankfully the Supreme Cpurt stepped in there and opened that clerk back up. I was terrified that it was going to close again. It was just a ticking clock and all of us knew it even though none of us said it. She knew how scared I was and she cared. She really really cared. She called me to tell me we got our clear to close. I could hardly talk, which isn't like me, and I cried. She got us closed that very day and the coronavirus didn't get to kill our dream of becoming a homeowner. We closed 2 days ago and it still doesnt seem real to me. I can't believe we are moving into this big, beautiful house. If I hadn't gotten this spacific realtor that Zillow randomly connected me with and she hadn't connected me with this freaking superhero named Jodi this never would have happened. I am so thankful and I would never use anyone different. Customer for life right here.
