UPDATE on my reviews of Tom Handley of A Plus Lock & Safe…read more This afternoon, Aug. 25th, Tom Handley gave me back my money for the safe lock that after 7 months he never delivered on. I feel lucky to have at least gotten part of my money back in this situation and appreciate the fact that Tom gave me a cashiers check to cover the amount. Tom did apologize for creating the situation and wasting so much of my time. I do appreciate the fact that in the end Tom acquiesced to the pressure of online reviews and returned part of the money I paid him. Sadly after 7 months, I still do not have a fixed safe lock. During those 7 months, Tom did not communicate in a professional manner and I spent ridiculous amounts of time chasing him and begging for updates either by phone of text. I truly believe that if I had not come up with the idea to have my boyfriend call from his phone, a number that Tom did not recognize as mine, about a made up problem with his own door, (read my first review) I would have never had absolute proof that Tom was intentionally not replying to my many efforts of communication. I have learned a lot from this situation. In the future, I will never pay more than a reasonable deposit for work to be done. I will require the receipt for the actual materials that were purchased for my job. (I now feel that the price I paid for the high security door locks was greatly inflated.) I will never hire anyone without checking references or reading reviews; no matter how nice they seem. I will make sure that I have a realistic time line, in writing, before I agree to hire any type of company. If by communicating my own frustrating and sad experience, I help one person avoid half of what I had to go through, I will know the time I have spent writing these reviews, has been worth it.

My vehicle was built early in the year that it was built so it still had the chip from the previous year. They were able to diagnose this problem after having issues with being able to program a key and fob that would work. Would definitely recommend them and use them again. The cost was a bit higher than I would have liked to pay, but their time, effort, and ability to give me the use of my vehicle again was worth every penny.

Darrell is amazing! I was in the middle of a mess with my short-term Airbnb rental I manage…read moreremotely. My 4 month old expensive Schlage Encode Lock broke when my renters were in the unit. Even the backup keys would not work in the lock. I called a 24-hour lock service off Google. They solved the immediate problem, but refused to put on a keyless lock, so I paid dearly for a temporary situation. The renters left and I had 48 hours to fix the situation correctly before the next renters came in. I needed to find a locksmith expert, my go to person to fix this situation. I found him!! I went to Yelp and, thank goodness, I found Darrell. I called him after normal hours and he picked up live and said, "Don't worry, we got this covered." He told me he loved Schlage Encode Locks and broken one is a real fluke. He wanted to see the original damaged one. Bottom line he was out there with a brand new Schlage Encode lock installed, ready to go within 48 hours and he knew exactly what was wrong with the old lock. He took a couple if pictures of the broken lock so I could return it to Schlage for a free replacement. I might add that he also repairs locks and he could have repaired it for a reasonable fee, but given the situation I'd already ordered a new one. He even noted that our kitchen window screen had been removed, left on the ground outside and bent where the renters had to crawl out a window to get out. Yeah this lock situation was bad! Darrell took a picture of the screen, bent it back into shape and put it back in the window for me. I might add that I am also so impressed with Schlage the manufacturer. They wanted the old lock back after Darrell's assessment due to the seriousness of the failure of the lock. They did send a brand new one out free of charge, too late for me, but it is now my backup. Bottom line Darrell is awesome! His follow-up, his expertise, timeliness and accessibility is 5 star. In addition, his prices are so reasonable; reasonable to the point that I told him to add more money to the bill! Thanks Darrell!
