They lie! No one calls back. Salesmen totally lied to me about everything! They'll say anything to get a sale.

They go door to door and aggressively try to sell you solar panels despite the clear no soliciting signs and they refuse to leave you alone

While we are happy to save on electricity bills, we are also very pleased to have back-up power. I have several medical conditions that cause heat intolerance. With the batteries, I am now reassured about keeping the whole house's AC on, in addition to the lights, computer, refrigerator, etc., in the event of a power outage. Bryan was great to work with and my project manager, Caitlin, was fantastic. She was impeccable with giving me weekly updates, upon my request, which reduced any anxiety I may have had during the entire process. The installers were led by Mitch and he was also wonderful. He and his team were all exceptionally polite, professional, and easy going to work with. They were also respectful of my property, cleaning up any messes that were made due to the installation work. Caitlin walked me through knowing what to expect at each phase of the installation and that included pre-work permits, and post-work inspections. One of the reasons I chose EGT Solar, after researching several solar companies, is because they are local. I like to support local businesses when I can and they knew all the ins and outs of regulations and requirements right where I live. Everything went super smoothly and I highly recommend EGT Solar!

We couldn't be happier with the results! I am only sorry I did not get this review posted earlier for others to benefit from. The staff and installers were professional in every way, did an outstanding installation job and cleaned up the construction litter better than any contractors I have hired in some time. The end product looks great while being non-intrusive, even the HOA in our subdivision was pleased with the results as are immediate neighbors. Follow-up service has been simply excellent. True to their word, when the system did not respond correctly a couple of times, they contacted me promptly and scheduled time to fix the problems (largely an internet connectivity issue easily resolved with a range extender or bridge). Their monitoring of our panels and invertors via the web led them to contact me before I even knew an issue required attention. The only delay we encountered was from Idaho Power, it took a bit longer than anticipated in December/January to get our meter switched to a net zero meter. We went live in mid-January during the height of the Treasure Valley inversion season. In closing, our system is working beautifully, while the Idaho Power bills have declined substantially, given our Jan/Feb inversions we did not get to zero. However I am very happy with where we are and the payback schedule projected for us is maybe 10% low. On the other hand if ID Power rates continue to climb the projections may be right on target - its really to early to tell. I would unconditionally recommend EVENGREEN TECHNOLOGY to anyone who is considering a quality solar project. They do not try to oversell or push "extras" to increase a profit margin. This is an Idaho home grown company I strongly encourage folks to seek a consultation with, and then make up their own minds based on the information shared. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Good luck to you as you discover the world of Solar Energy production. John Fend - Eagle homeowner

I spent roughly six months investigating a PV system for our new house. During this time I spent a…read morequite a bit of time researching current standards, practices and products, and contacted virtually all the companies who service and install solar systems in the Boise area. I decided to work with a company with roots in the area: all things being equal, I prefer doing business with local companies. I also didn't want to wait for a traveling service rep to finally make his way to Boise should problems pop up. After the first cut, I requested proposals from three companies, and selected Silicon2Solar for a few reasons. Silicon2Solar's proposal specified only top of the line products and methods. The proposal was clear, concise and devoid of any additional fees or "upgrades". And while Silicon2Solar's quote came in the lowest, that was not the deciding factor. It came down to relationships. Rick's long-standing presence in the PV industry as a key member of various industry standards organizations has allowed him to establish direct relationships with manufacturers and top-tier distributors, giving Silicon2Solar access to the latest products and technologies. And Jeremie's long career as a Boise-area electrician has led to strong relationships with the local inspectors and utilities, paving the way for quick approvals and service activation. Throughout the process, I found Rick and Jeremy to be very easy to work with. They listened to my requirements and concerns, and acted on them. Their team came in on schedule, were friendly, polite, respectful and very efficient. The installation is perfect down to the smallest detail, and is exactly how we discussed and agreed. We couldn't be happier. The entire Silicon2Solar team is built from the best the Boise area has to offer, and has my unconditional recommendation.

    Tiger Solar

I am super happy with my solar power generation system purchased through Tiger Solar (formally…read moreAltenergy). I would highly recommend Tiger Solar as a solar vendor and installation company, especially compared to other residential solar installers that I interviewed. Just to give a bit of context here... I am an electrical engineer with a background in power, and I have been a solar energy enthusiast since I was a teenager many decades ago. So I confess to geeking out a bit here. As I started the process of investigating residential solar power systems, I interviewed multiple companies and also individuals who had recently installed solar for their homes. You can learn more about the company from their web site, and they can give you info on quality and warrantees, etc. But beyond those things, here are a few key points that led me to decide to go with Tiger... 1) I found the sales reps with Tiger Solar to be very knowledgeable, as they were able to either answer my technical questions right away, or we able quickly get the information I desired. They were familiar with the different variations of solar technologies that I asked about, and were experienced in dealing with the technology areas I was interested in. 2) At no point in time did the Tiger Solar rep try to sell me on their creative financing, leasing, or other gimmicks that some other solar companies brought into the conversation. Yes, Tiger Solar has competitive financing options available if you want/need them, but that wasn't a major component of the conversation. 3) Tiger Solar provided a very cost competitive quote, which was based upon a system design that met my desired requirements. I wanted a system that would not only offset my current electric consumption, but would also be easily extensible in the future to include EV charging, battery back-up, and potentially other advanced features, without having to reconfigure the overall design. Tiger solar delivered a system design that met my requirements. In addition their quote resulted in the lowest cost-per-kW compared to quotes from other companies. 4) This may be a minor point, but the aesthetic design of the solar panel arrangement and inverter placement was by far the best of all the quotes I received. Everything looked smooth and clean and well laid out. After I signed the contract for the solar power system, Tiger Solar as a company did several things to impress me during the installation process. The first thing was the installation itself. The installers were very experienced, and worked hard to do a superior job on routing the wiring and placing the equipment, and avoided a few "short-cuts" that might have been "acceptable" but not "best". I am very happy with the workmanship of the job. Tiger Solar did a couple of very positive things, business wise, that benefited me in ways I did not expect. For example, the cost of solar panels actually went down slightly from the time of the original quote, and they passed that savings onto the end purchase price. They didn't have to do that, and could have kept the price as originally quoted, and I would not have known any better. It feels good when a company honors their customers in the process of doing business. Lastly, the system performance of the installed solar power system is working very well. The output performance is right-on-the-money (or slightly above) of the stated output power capacity. This gives me confidence that the system design is sound, and I anticipate that the system performance will be in line with the levels predicted over time. Overall, the experience with Tiger Solar was very positive, and I am happy with the finished product.
