I am divorced so I made sure that a copy of the contact agreement that dictated contact between my ex-partner and I. On one occasion my daughter was withheld from me when it was clear that I had contact on that day as contact was on the same days each week and the contact order had been in place for two years. Even though the nursery was aware that it was regularly my contact time and they were asked by me to cross-reference the order (that they had in their hands at the time) they still withheld my daughter. I was totally outraged and was reduced to tears in their office with the desperation of the seemingly wilful disregard for the court order. At a later date I did receive a weak apology but when there is no excuse for such restriction of personal liberty it does not explain or excuse what happened. They continued to treat me differently applying different sets of rules to me, as they did towards my ex -partner. When I requested rudimentary paperwork regarding incidents that had taken place, leading to me losing money, I was told that I would need to get a letter from my solicitor in order to receive confirmation, of matter which they had plain knowledge of , and could have given me without fuss. Conversely my ex-partner was not asked to go to such costly lengths when information from the nursery was requested - most recently just the week before. This led to me being effectively blocked from the same rights to equal treatment and the freedom of information as my ex-partner. This is modern day sexism which the nursery wholeheartedly embraces whilst hiding behind codes and rhetoric. If these are the skewed values that they practise at management level then I am not sure what kind of messages would be filtering through to the education policy of the children. After my experiences there I would not recommend anyone leaving any of their children there for a multitude of different reason that only become apparent when it's too late to do anything.
