The first impression upon entering was positive. The tour was great, and the Director sounds and…read more appears knowledgeable and capable. However, storing cots in bathrooms(major red flag)completely unacceptable! As an early childhood educator with over 20 years of professional experience, this practice has never been allowed and raises serious health, safety, and licensing concerns. Programs should strive to exceed minimum standards--not settle for what is considered "acceptable" in Texas. This mindset is part of why Texas ranks so low nationally in education. Parents need to pay close attention to these details. Additionally, communication with assistant teachers needs significant improvement. The level of care and oversight from the lead teacher to assistants in the afternoon is lacking and needs immediate attention. After school care providers never seem to know what going on. Get to know your kids, on an individual level, know their needs and pay attention. Toddlers/preschoolers should not be without water especially during snack or meal times.

This school was a terrible experience for my family. While other parents were getting regular…read moreupdates and pictures of their children, I received almost nothing. Communication was constantly a struggle -- I was often called at work about missing items even though I always asked ahead of time if anything was needed. When I did get updates, it was usually last-minute, leaving me scrambling within an hour to fix things. What hurt the most was when my child was hit in the face by another student, and I wasn't told until more than three hours later. No parent should have to find out something like that long after it happens. As a foster parent, I work hard to give my children stability and comfort, but this school made that transition so much harder than it needed to be. I truly hope no other parent has to go through what we did. Please look for a different preschool where your child will be cared for, and where you'll be treated like a valued parent -- not an afterthought.

I have been so incredibly happy with Cardinal Montessori. I enrolled my child a few months ago, and…read moreI knew I was in the right place when I ran into my husband's college friends during the tour and realize how many of them are connected to CMA. The environment is very calm and not over simulating for the kids. The focus is on learning and engagement rather than on toys. It's been a great place, and I love that every one of the teachers make a whole-heart effort to learn every child's name - not just those that are in their rooms. The facility is very clean, and they are great about notifying parents of any illness that could potentially be contagious. They hold quarterly meetings for the parents, and hold special events around major holidays. I plan to keep my child here until they are ready to attend elementary school.

I was faced with finding "drop-in backup" care for 4 amazing boys all under the age of 5. We visited Cardinal and was pleased with the professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of the facility and the convenient location. Thankfully the facility was able to provide back up care. 2 of my nephews typically pitch a fit when they attend their regular school. At Cardinal they were ready to be dropped off and excitingly shared their adventures of the day. One of the boys (2 yrs) still talks about his "passport" he made with his "teacher" (he cannot yet pronounce the last name). Thank you Cardinal!!! Continue to provide excellent service and our youth will thrive in the world due to their superlative foundation

We are in 2026. Reviews from previous years praise the school. Yes, it was a fine school once! BUT,…read moreand this is a BIG BUT, it is no longer Montessori! Everyone BE AWARE of this fact!!! Country Day Montessori of San Antonio TX was sold over Summer of 2025, because the previous owner was diagnosed with cancer and they needed to sell the school because they needed the funds. The new owners are NOT INTERESTED IN MONTESSORI EDUCATION and are NOT USING THE MONTESSORI EDUCATION SYSTEM! This IS NO LONGER A MONTESSORI SCHOOL! Most qualified Montessori teachers left because the school switched to traditional education and is leaving Montessori behind. They hired traditional teachers who have NO IDEA what Montessori education is! Beware that Country Day Montessori of San Antonio TX is NO LONGER using Montessori!!! Country Day Montessori of San Antonio TX is now a HORRIBLE school! This may sound harsh, but that is the truth and reality: IT'S HORRIBLE! Most committed, dedicated parents are aware of these changes, and some, who have had their children at Country Day Montessori for 3 and 4 years have decided to leave, and put their children in other schools! They are charging top prices for Montessori education and provide NO Montessori education! This is FRAUD! STAY AWAY! Look for another school! If you want Montessori education, THIS IS NOT IT!!!

Forced to eat alone, told that she's difficult, impossible and stupid. A BABY!!!! Coming home and crying saying she's impossible and stupid. How is that acceptable? There is simply NO excuse for an adult to treat a child like this! This is disturbing beyond belief. And when brought to the principles attention, they had the audacity to accuse the parents of the child not getting enough sleep. I mean... what kind of response is this? Total lack of accountability, not acknowledging the damage done to the child and how unprofessional the teacher acted. We found out about this behavior because another student was going home upset!!! Other children were traumatized by the way the teacher had been treating their friend/ classmate! The damage done by bullying has affects that stick with people for years! Look at how many horror stories of kids ending their life from bullying. And this school is fostering it! Allowing and defending the teachers who are doing it. I am sick. Disgusted. And furious. How dare they. This is purely unacceptable and I look forward to the day karma reaches you.

From day one they were welcoming they really care about each child's education also molding them as a person. This is an actual school with the real curriculums if you are moving to the area stop by! You won't regret it I promise you! Hidden gem in San Antonio!
