Giant steps is celebrating 15 years of teaching children this is a preschool not a day care. Great school and only place I would consider.

This was my toddler's first chance at daycare and I was counting on this place to provide a…read morenurturing environment for my child. Instead they let him cry the whole time he was there, and out of two weeks of going they only picked him up once. I watched on the camera app (which is very grainy and has no sound) and the teachers would literally just ignore him. There's no cameras outside and I had enough of this place when I surprise picked him up and he was sitting outside in the heat next to the door scream crying and no one was paying him any attention. They said he had been crying the whole time. I literally can't believe it. Pick him up! Nurture him! Help him feel safe! Instead they took away his stuffed animal puppy and just let him cry. Sending my 18 month old boy to this place is my biggest regret as a parent so far.

AppleTree already gets 5 gold stars fro me HOWEVER, it was not until my son started Kindergarten…read morethat I realized just what a great job they had done with him. He was totally prepared for Kindergarten and is even ahead. All the work he is coming home with is stuff he has been doing for the past year. I don't know what else I can say other than I am totally impressed with AppleTree Day School and miss them very much now that we are in school!

All in all I have to say I LOVE this place!. This is the second daycare my children have attended…read more Their first one left me horrified so I was extreamly scared to concider another but I had no other choice. I have to work. They have been attending this center on Poss for about a year now and I will admit I have had a few disagrements with the front staff as far as getting my paper work and information on time. They never seem to have payment updates the "book keeper" is always "running behind" which is a bit annoying. But honestly other than that I love this place! I love both their teachers. My oldest always comes home singing songs and telling me what her and her friends did for the day. She LOVES the swiming which they get to do 3 times a week. And as happy as she is to see when I go to pick her up she is not always wanting to leave. Her teachers are usually always nice and easy to talk with. Anytime I have an issue I talk to them first and it gets handled quickly. The only problem is she gets some scratches and marks that dont get documented and I get scared that if its not writen down then someone will try and say I she got them at home. So I ALWAYS point them out to both the teacher and the front personel. And try to figure out how she got them. **Usually VERY minor scrapes** My youngest LOVES the teachers his face lights up when we get to his class he gives me a kiss then off he goes into his own little world. He has never had a rash or serious injury since he sarted. He has been bite once and hit in the face with a toy. But HONESTLY parents it is to be expected! Babies fight over toys... I do not just like this place because of all the extras I love it because I can see my kids are having a good time and learning basic tasks and comprehension skills. When I see my kids excited to go "to school" I feel good as a parent. I am writing this review because I had been concidering changing daycares due to financial reasons. But all the ones I went to just gave me goose-bumps. Honestly after attending here its hard to find one that even comes close to the clean safe feeling I get when I walk into Country Home with my kids. I have decided to cut expenses elsewhere and keep them here as long as I possibly can afford. The big mind changer was when I asked my daughter this afternoon if she would be ok with moving to another "school" she looks at me and says: "mommy ok... but, I sure do like my school... I'm not wet any more mommy. I can use the potty now" That was the most honest and cute responce I could have hoped for. She has been trying for a while to use the potty but couldnt seem to time it right and would feel bad when she "wet" herself now she is potty trained all thanks to her teachers! I want to say a BIG Thank You to their teachers! You guys are AMAZING!

I don't see the field trips advertised. What I have noticed is the constant turnover or lack of providers. I've also have had to remind caregivers to properly clean my child's rear end! I'm considering finding a residential caregiver to give the care I'm paying for.

They also do a great job with academics and use good curriculum and have tons of hands-on activities for the kids. But noticed over the years, the teacher turnover rate was INSANE. (27 teachers total, left in 2024 alone and they don't even staff that many). Every couple weeks there seemed to be new teachers. My oldest moved to kinder this August and my youngest started. In August started the largest decline of a daycare I've ever seen, multiple teachers and the best director were fired and a new one replaced her. But with that, firings continued, one teacher was rehired (who had been previously fired for multiple reason, the largest being bullying children), CCS has been pulled, and there's maybe 5 or 6 classrooms actually being filled with children because so many parents have left (rightfully so). They're combining classrooms now because just as many teachers are leaving, so children don't have that consistency of the same teacher. The only reason and I mean the ONLY reason I stay was because the absolute LOVE and endearment I had for Viridiana. She is an angel/ one-in-a-million teacher you find who actually loves and cares for the babies as her own. Everyday I dropped my child off, it felt as if I was leaving him with family and I knew my child was taken care of. Other than that, it's obvious that the teachers are overworked, understaffed and under appreciated. Do yourself a favor and look at the violations on this website, more than likely, the three teachers I observed who are having these major red flag issues are still there. https://childcare.hhs.texas.gov/Public/InspectionAndComplianceHistory?operationId=1487369
