For someone like me visiting from the US, it's fun to come here as there are some stores that we…read moredon't have in the US, such as Purdy's Chocolates, Murchie's (tea company; https://www.murchies.com/store/about-us), Cobs Bread, and Shoppers Drug Mart. I have to say the actual mall is dated and not very uplifting with the very low ceilings. I'm sure the selection of shops is not exciting at all for people in Canada. Probably the saddest part of the mall is the food court. Three hour free parking (covered and uncovered). It's one of the closest shopping malls from the US boarder. If you're not from Canada, you might enjoy this mall as long as you come here only occasionally. Otherwise, it's probably not a mall to make a special trip to (no offense). ***************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful" so that I can improve my reviews. This is a pretty small shopping centre as compare to Metrotown, Oakridge or Richmond centre. Most…read moreof the fashion merchants are not well known: Anna Kristina, Lotus Point, Northern Reflections, Silhouette Lingerie. You won't find any Gaps or Old Navy's around here. As for the guys you have Keith Ridge Mens Wear, anyways you get the point. The mall is basically anchored by two big retailers, Zellers and Price Smart. In terms of services; there's a lottery kiosk, liquor store, ticketmaster, etc. The selection at the food court is slim pickins: fortune wok, Fresh Slice pizza, Orange Julius, Kuroishi, A&W, Nibblers, Pick and Chews. Luckily, there's White Spot and Earls near the Entrance. There's also a CIBC and RBC.

i really thought i was being strategic. "half an hour is plenty," i told myself, confidently paying…read more$2.50 for parking. the plan was simple: go to guest services, check on the expiry of my gift cards, and leave. then i walked by the grand court and ooooh, look at how pretty and massive the lunar new year lantern is. the bold red lantern suspended under the glass ceiling, surrounded by oversized pink blooms, was stunning. they even included interesting facts from the chinatown storytelling centre, which made the display feel thoughtful and educational, not just decorative. it was beautiful and absolutely not something you rush past. i tried to stay focused, but this is metropolis at metrotown. as the largest mall in bc and one of the biggest in canada, it offers pretty much everything under one roof. fashion from zara, aritzia, arcteryx, uniqlo and sephora. staples like the apple store and h&m (with an escalator out of order during my visit). daiso. muji. winners and homesense. walmart, the real canadian superstore, t&t, shopper's drug mart, cineplex, banks, bubble tea shops, foreign exchange counters, restaurants and a food court. gone are anchors like hudson's bay and sears, but the variety today is still impressive. it really is a one stop hub. groceries, errands, shopping, entertainment, all convenient and connected directly to skytrain. but here's the thing: malls should not be charging for parking (unless it's downtown). we used to visit this mall a lot. it was an easy, go to destination. since parking fees were introduced, we honestly don't come nearly as often. when you're already planning to shop and spend money, paying just to park feels unnecessary. it changes the whole experience and makes even a quick visit feel calculated. the mall itself still has a great selection of stores and services. it delivers on convenience and variety. i just wish the parking situation didn't take away from that. next time, i'll likely skip the car and take skytrain instead.

A bit dated shopping mall. I find it slightly awkward to walk around because there are different…read moresets of elevators that lead you to garage parking and not the point of destination where you want to go. Parking garage also dated. There is a Walmart, T&T inside.

The food was laid out so picturesque at some stalls as well. Everything was very much made fresh to order as well. The facility itself is fairly clean and the restrooms seem to be serviced regularly. I do wish the entrances smelled less like cigarettes but they can't really control what goes on outside and the way that it wafts inside.

The mall is a long boomerang shape with food court in middle, Bass Pro at one end, the other end has Funland and restaurants outside the West entrance. Lots of families come here however only the middle washroom by the rood court has family room. The washrooms at either end don't have family rooms which I thought was interesting as they advertised the mall as family oriented. You would have thought that they will have at least one family room at each end too. The men's washroom has a counter to change diaper but no padding/baby change table so bring a foldable change mat. There is an enclosed play area for babies to crawl/run around and a stroller area to leave your stroller. It is near the Marshalls/The Children's Place stores, west of food court. Good place to just walk around.
