Diane and I enjoy participating in the great events that the club plans for its' members. Everything came off flawlessly. The club collected many toys for underprivileged children. I had a terrific meal! I started off with a nice Coors Light. (They had a cash bar) It went well with my beautiful mixed greens salad with a vinaigrette dressing. That was delicious and was followed by a truly wonderful Chicken Piccata. Wonderful lemony sauce and tasty capers. For dessert, I had a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and strawberries and mint on the side. I had a terrific time talking with the jovial guests that were seated at our table. It was a fun group of people who made the evening a true pleasure. It was well worth the long drive up to Hobe Sound to have such a festive wonderful holiday afternoon!!

It's a beautiful club house and golf course in a gated community. The club house is very attractive, there's plenty of free parking. I liked that we didn't have to valet our car. The dining room has a great view of the golf course. About ten tables were set up with eight people at each table. Everyone brought a toy for a child. The toys were collected and displayed in the front of the room. For lunch we got a salad, entree with sides, and dessert. Coffee, tea, and lemonade was included. There was a cash bar. Rolls and butter was on the table. When we ran out of rolls our server brought more. For our entrees we had a choice between red snapper or chicken piccata. I ordered the fish. The salad was very fresh. It was mixed greens, hearts of palm, cherry tomatoes, radishes, cranberries, and sliced almonds. The vinaigrette dressing was light and delicious. The only problem was when j I got up to use the restroom. I still had some salad left on my plate. When I got back my salad was gone. I mentioned to our server that I wasn't finished with my salad. I was hoping she'd bring more, but that didn't happen. My fish was served with green beans, carrots, rice, and salsa. It looked good, but as soon as I tasted it I realized it was raw in the middle. I told our server who offered to have it cooked. Biting into the raw fish turned me off so I asked for the chicken piccata instead. I'm not against sushi or other fish that is served raw, but this fish was not edible. Other people at our table that had ordered fish said theirs was good. It didn't take long for my chicken piccata to arrive. It came with green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes, and capers. The chicken was tasty. I enjoyed the dish. For dessert we got chocolate mudslide cake with vanilla ice cream. The cake was dense and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the coffee. It was very weak. I've eaten there before. After hitting a few balls, while video was shot, we reviewed what he saw. I never realized how strange my swing looked to others. With a little coaching he got it to look better. Arlen gave constructive criticism but nothing to make me feel bad. Just some positive input & slight adjustment info. My husband's adjustments were a bit more pronounced, but Arlen made it so simple to teach him what to change. His training tool got my husband's swing where it needed to be seamlessly. At the end of our session Arlen discussed chipping, pitching, & putting. This was really informative. We plan to hit the driving range & practice green & expect we'll be seeing lower scores soon. If we were permanent FLA residents I'm sure we would be building a long-term relationship with Arlen.

I am a homeowner in Willoughby Golf Club. Willoughby is a retirement community and I would not…read morerecommend Willoughby for anyone who works full time. Despite what Willoughby advertises, the owners are not friendly to newcomers who do not have time during the day to participate in all of the "cruise ship" activities typical to retirees. In addition, "evening" events, such as Trivia Night, invariably begin well before we arrive home at the end of a working day. The kitchen also closes so early that we often are unable to use the Club dining room. More importantly for me and my husband, who still work full-time, Willoughby, institutionally, actively discriminates against people who work. All HOA & open Board Meetings are held during working hours. With rare exception for a weekend event, all events and activities are held during working hours. The Board, moreover, is regrettably highhanded in arbitrary rule-making. Apparently as an overreaction to a complaining owner, the Board voted on a Friday morning to institute a new community rule, effective the following day, forbidding any kind of workers to come into Willoughby on Saturdays. This includes handymen, painters, inside workers, etc. Members of the community had no notice that this rule might be proposed and no opportunity to be heard. We also do not believe that this was a separate item on the agenda of the Board meeting. This dictatorial-like behavior resulted in workers being turned away at the gate and the homeowner incurring a fee by the vendor for his time, in some cases. To properly maintain and improve your home/property a working person must now take a day off whenever they need to have any work done on their home. In addition, assessments are repeatedly levied the same way -- with no vote by the homeowners.
