The greenhouses are arranged beautifully in centerpieces with rows of individual plants all around. And I personally really appreciated how thorough their native plant selection was. I thought the prices were fair, and the folks running it are just really good people. It says it's up for sale, and it would be such a bummer to lose a place like this. I hope someone finds a way to keep going with what the family has built.

They have some "rare" plants in the front window that aren't for sale and are TINY and pretty sad honestly. Not a good find as a plant person- definitely the kind of place only doing well because of the Virginia Tech student population not knowing any better. Btw as a plant person the breaking point for me was the $130 White Monster monstera that had clearly been chopped over and over- had 3 leaves and the most recent was damaged. In no universe was that middle cut plant actually worth that much given how much they'd farmed from it. Anyways...guess I'm stuck on Etsy and stalking big box.

There is also a sewage issue at the front of the store that almost makes me sick every time. I don't know what it is, but checking out is the hardest. Their flooring has been a great price every time I've looked at it. They also have toys and things that are hard to find at chain places. The book selection is one of my favorite parts. Everyone is usually friendly and helpful if you need anything.
