Nobody was at the counter when we arrived, so we waited and after less then a minute the worker came out from the back and looked at me and the other 2 customers, and then stood behind the counter and kinda just stared off into space. After about 30 seconds of everyone being ignored, I put my other purchases away and left.

I definitely know why I shop at Save On - maybe just not on the first Tuesday of the month around 2:00 in the afternoon?!?! Why you ask? Because, as I said when I went it was the first Tuesday of the month. And, when I entered the store I didn't notice it but the line up for the cashiers was CRAZY. Now, I'm sure you are reading this and thinking she means Costco long lines. NO. I mean literally around the store, they needed a person directing traffic CRAZY. I was in line for 25 minutes before I was even directed in a cashier line up. And, then the person didn't know how to ring in the deli deal I had - not only was the person line behind me annoyed, I was beyond annoyed. Yes, I saved, because thankfully I did have a Save-on More savings card (can you imagine going through all that and not having one?), but was it worth it??? I honestly don't know? Today, when I opened it, it was already moldy. When I went back, I wasn't met with a simple apology or quick replacement. Instead, I was passed between staff, treated with suspicion, and even told it was "not a big deal" only because I'm a regular. No apology was ever offered, and no acknowledgment that selling moldy food is a serious health risk -- especially for children, the elderly, or anyone with penicillin allergies. Customer service shouldn't be this complicated. Replacing a defective item is the bare minimum, and the way I was spoken to left a sour taste far worse than the cheese. For a business that relies on regular customers, this was not only poor service -- it was careless and short-sighted.

I watched as a man held the door open for his young companion (son maybe?) and then continue to hold it open for an older couple who were leaving the shop, BEAMING with big smiles, holding hands, and ICE CREAM CONES! They all looked so happy! Then the man and his son came out, again - SUPER happy, making eye contact and holding ICE CREAM CONES. The prices do seem to be a bit higher than competitors, but I'm not necessarily going grocery shopping here and you probably shouldn't be either (for the people complaining). It's a convenience store - you pay for convenience. Yeah, the prices might be marginally higher - but nothing is stopping you from going elsewhere other than... convenience.

The candy is quite overpriced compared to other stores, but the slushies are great and are cheap, though more expensive than 7-Eleven. There is a good range of flavours for the slushies, which are quite popular during the summer. The space is clean, but there is sometimes water or slushie juice on the floor. In the winter people wear their boots inside and bring in snow and dirt, but it is cleaned up everyday.
