Made an appt online for my 90,000 service which includes, oil, filter, and axle fluid change according to my owners manual and Sunshine Chevrolet's website. I was able to get a since it was supposed to be a bit. Got a call shortly saying the car was ready. When I arrived, I was told they only change the oil at 90,000 miles. This is not what I scheduled and it goes against the owners manual. I also mentioned that I had an issue with the thermostat. He said it was in the back of the engine and would require a whole day to pull the engine.....WRONG. It's in the front. The time before when I brought my car in, I had a headlight that was out. He told me they would have to remove the bumper to replace it and it would be $800. I bought the bulb at the auto store and installed it in 5 minute. 1 star stands for not good, so this suits it. I have been here 3 times since moving here last Sept. My truck is a 2019, and under warranty still. The first was an issue with the sound coming from somewhere in engine bay. They searched for 2 days and concluded that it couldn't be fixed due to a possible previous owner's accident. Fine. But then they charged me for the time. Dont' see why I'm out money since its under warranty. 2nd time, my transmission shifter was causing problems with the ignition cutoff. They ordered part, I scheduled a half day to get installed, only to find when I went in, they had ordered a USED shifter. And they hadn't even bothered to call me when this part came in. They fixed with the new part, only after I had to call to see if part was actually in. It had been for days. 3rd time was my transmission was making stuttering noises, as well as my A/C unit not working correctly. The original clerk stated it would take about 1 week to fix, so plan on getting a car rental. The only problem is, Sunshine does not do loaner cars, so I had to call GM about how they handle this. (That's a whole side story, and not good for GM) When I got a phone call, not less than 4 hours after dropping (not a week), I asked them if they actually fixed all the problems. They said yes, and the A/C issue was just a software update. So I get my truck back, transmission is better, but A/C is still wack. I opened the hood, and sure enough, see my fan belt A/C is turning off every 1 min (as I told the tech) So no, they didn't thoroughly diagnose the problems. They seem to want to find an easy way out, and especially if you are under warranty of some kind, they won't fully engage as it doesn't make as much cash. I would say go down the street to Asheville, but they aren't much better. We are screwed in this area for GM hate to say. read more

They were dishonest with us, charged us for work they did not do the first time around, and we had to drive back again for them to fix an issue that they charged us $2200 for (over $1000 of that was just for a few hours of labor). Their "certified service" mechanics returned our Chevy Cruze to us with low coolant (they charged us for coolant and didn't fill anything up, which made us wonder what else they're charging people for and not doing), they took the manifold cover that protects the coil pack, they lost it, and didn't replace it. We were told that we'd get a call from Neal the next Monday to fix that issue, and no one called us. A permanent code came up on our vehicle and we were told by other mechanics that only the dealerships can clear a permanent code. This has been a 2-year issue and our little family has had to save up money to fix this so our car could pass emissions and we can update our tags. It felt so horrible to hand an envelope of cash to a dealership that treated us and our hard-earned money this way. Is there any honesty or integrity anymore?? First and foremost I despise buying new car/trucks. It seems that every time that you just want to look you have some pushy salesman telling you a whole bunch of stuff that you really don't want to hear. The whole process always seems like I'm rushed and pressured into my big investment. With that being said, this dealership was none of that. From start to finish I felt welcome and I was spoke to on a level that I understood. There was no feeling of them pushing a new vehicle on me but more of a feeling that they were just glad I came in and wanted to help if I needed them. I dealt with Zak Kampert, who is young and good at what he does. Zak worked with me on purchasing a new diesel truck and explained all the ends and outs of it so that I knew exactly what I was getting into. I can't think Zak enough and would highly recommend him if you have any chevy needs! I was also helped by a sales manager named steven. He too was amazing and was able to find a few rebates to save me money. Over all I can't speak highly enough on this dealership. I was perfectly fine with paying that. Drove 30 miles and took the afternoon off. Got there and the smartass Service manager (named Neal) (after acting like he did not know I had an appointment) said he would not even look at it unless I was willing to leave it a week. Which I could not do! I made an appointment for a 2 hour diagnostic and service manager refused me the service! So I took it to another Chevy dealer, who within an hour diagnosed a bad ECM, and replaced it. Very happy Sunshine Chevrolet lost $1000 in this process. My check engine light came on last Friday on my 2020 2500HD truck. I called Sunshine Chevrolet and they said to bring it in at 12:30 pm on Monday and leave my truck for a couple of hours. I arrived a few minutes early and left the truck. At 3:30 pm, I called back since I hadn't heard from them. They said they would get to it later that afternoon or tomorrow morning. I called the following day (Tuesday) at 1:30 pm and they hadn't even looked at the truck. They said they thought the technician would look at it later that day or the next morning. Sounded like the same thing they told me the previous day. I cancelled the service and picked the truck up after leaving it with them for over 24 hours and they didn't do anything. On the work order, they said that "Customer didn't have time for further diag". It should have said that service center didn't ever get around to doing anything! I don't know if they actually know what they are doing but I do know that customer service isn't high on their list! read more

Horrible experience dealing with this dealership for service to my new vehicle. I brought my brand new vehicle (only 700 miles) in to have manufacturing defects addressed due to something clearly being loose or broken in my passenger door that causes excessive audible vibration when listening to music with bass set into the negatives and at a level you can easily speak over or when driving at certain RPMs. The issue is so bad I can't utilize my upgraded sound system without music distortion or my passengers complaining of the annoyance of noise vibrations when traveling with me. I expected no problems in at least having the issue looked at but was very wrong. Through the process the technician came out to my car with me and heard and verified the vibration issues impacted by the music playback with me on my first visit. On my second visit, after 6,000 miles had only made the issue worse, he went on a test drive and verified the vibration caused by the engine/exhaust tone. He wanted me to chat with the service manager both times to get the issue covered because he could hear the issue but couldn't say what warrantied part was impacted, the manager was never available. When attempting to get guidance through GM directly on the issue they called the service manager and he informed them my issue was within spec (clearly not) and told them to relay to me that if I wanted the defect actually looked at I'd have to pay $160 for "diagnostics" to be performed on a defect on a vehicle that is well within its bumper to bumper warranty. They wouldn't even attempt to isolate the issue beyond verifying the exterior connections of the door panel were secure when the issue clearly and audibly existed . What a joke of an experience with no effort to stand behind a vehicle with issues clearly present when it rolled off the assembly line. I've already used the dealership for accessories and my first service appointment but will never be back without some effort on their end to demonstrate they are a dealership that honors a vehicles warranty. read more

I had a terrible experience at this dealership. I was trying to trade for a vehicle and nothing went well. The sales manager tried to pull the old dealer tricks on me and I called him out on it. I hope no one else is treated the way that my wife and I were treated. He does not like the fact that I had done my homework on what my vehicle was worth on KBB. It is apparent that he does not like an educated consumer. He tried to charge me a $1087.00 docking fee. When I asked the salesman what this was for he said " tag, registration, washing, full tank of gas and paperwork handling". The total at the DMV is just over $ 100.00 so thats over $ 950.00 for a tank of gas, washing, and paperwork handling. After having the oil changed in our truck, Sunshine failed to return our lug nut key - and now are claiming that the key belongs to them. Sunshine has done all schedule B maintenance on the vehicle for the last 2 years, and put new tires on the truck earlier this year. Now, that we have decided to have maintenance preformed at another location due to an outrageous quote for back brake pads, Sunshine has refused to give us our lug nut key that they took from inside the vehicle. When I approached their staff, they claim that the key belongs to their master set. However, after confirming with the manufacturer of our wheels, they have indicated that is not possible. No dealership, or wheel shop within a 4 county radius has this key, yet Sunshine magically does. Seriously? read more

I called to make an appointment for service on my GMC. I tried to get a loaner car for two weeks before I finally just gave up and made an appointment where I would leave my car there for the day. I planned to Uber anywhere I needed to go. I set an appointment for nine AM figuring they could complete a simple brake job in a day. I also listed a couple of other cosmetic items for them to look at. I called them at noon for a status report when I had not heard from them. They said they would call me back. I called again at three and that is when the gentleman finally went to check on my car. It turns out they had not even looked at it. He sheepishly asked if I needed it back today. So they had my car for six hours for an appointment that started at nine AM and didn't even look at the car. I would have been much more understanding if they had simply communicated with me. I purchased a used Chevrolet Colorado 2008 with 67k miles back in early March. It was really cold and windy that day. The truck was advertised pretty well and the salesperson Seth of course told me that there was a lot of interest in the truck. That's a common thing. There's always "a lot of interest," but there was no one standing in line. It was too cold and windy, plus as I said, "There's always a lot of interest." I looked at the truck for a bit. I took it for a drive. Seth told me they had run an ionizer on the truck for 3 days, but that was "normal," according to Seth. The truck smelled new for 67K miles, but it was March and cold, so nothing was going to be able to smell, regardless. I made an offer. They offered me $250 for my trade-in, which is about the value of the tires. They came back with about the same price as they were asking only mixing the numbers around so it looked like they were giving me a discount. They weren't. $375 to pay some woman to do the title work, not for the title work, but to do it. I bought a car yesterday and did title, tax and tag myself for $300. With the truck I got a tax bill a few weeks later for $147, not covered, obviously, in the fees. Anyway, at the end of the sale I took possession of the truck and just as I was about to drive away I noticed two chips/cracks in the wind shield. I told Seth about it. He had to go get another guy to look at it. Some guy that looked at me like he could have given 3 doodoos to do anything for me. They gave some repair guys card because he could come to me and put "super glue" on it for me and they'd pick up the cost. I never called. The wind shield is fine. I'll get a new one if anything happens. That's what they should have done. When I got home I found some mystery switch. I text messaged Seth, because Seth said he'd be there for me if i needed him, so I asked him to ask the previous owner what it was for. He never did. I discovered only today, 2.5 months later that it was for the auxiliary, but the radio had to be on 88.5 for it to work. It's actually pretty cool, but it would have been cooler 2.5 months ago. Anyway, the real purpose of this diatribe; about three weeks ago I started driving the truck with the A/C on and it started raining a lot. Mind you it's May and I have only driven the truck maybe 2K miles. Guess what happened? The cabin filled with water on both sides. The truck has been under a tarp ever since. I had to order a new cowl, $144 on Ebay because the old one was rotted and rain drain was clogged with debris. The left side was a complete swamp because the a/c evaporator drain is clogged, which I'll have to jack the truck up and possibly take the dash out to fix so I can drain the evaporator pan if clearing the drain doesn't work. Of course, back in March on that freezing day I did not run the a/c and it was bright and sunny, so no rain, but I guess the "normal" use of an ionizer for a few days should have clued me in had I really thought about it. If only I knew the true purpose of an ionizer. I think Sunshine does. Why didn't I bring this to the attention of Sunshine? I tried to, but the manager could not or would not speak to me. I didn't want to bring it to the dealership because I didn't want to drive round trip 80 miles to have doodoo face look at me and do absolutely nothing for me, because it wasn't their problem. I bought it "as is," so I got it "as is." Even if I bought their crap warranty it wouldn't have covered this. So what can you derive from this lengthy essay? If you buy from these folks do it in the spring or fall on a rainy day, so you can test all functions. Walk away if they won't give you a deal or ask to speak to the manager directly because you'll never speak to him again otherwise and since salespeople like Seth cannot obviously make the deal without going through the manager; you might as well speak to the person that makes the final decision rather than sitting at a table waiting for the salesperson to pretend to walk back and forth all frustrated. If you hear ionizer or the car smells way too much like a new car, really give it a thorough look through before you sit down and buy, and not just at Sunshine, anywhere. Do I have buyers remorse? Yes. Their reply to this review is epically lame, weak, and so self serving it's unbelievable. Why didn't I reach out to them? I did. Everything went super smooth. I was able to schedule a test drive for the car I wanted while I was out of the country, give a look over without issue and then get all my trade in appraisal and financing just as easily. Karl was an awesome salesperson and showed me everything the car could do and gave me a great tour of the dealership and what their goals are, while the finance person (can't remember his name) worked with me to get me the best deal I could - better than I expected coming in. I think the only downside to the whole experience was timing. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon at 2p and got everything sorted and drove off the lot at about 7p. I recently bought a used Jeep from this place. There was a chip in the windshield and we agreed that I would buy the car that day if they fixed the windshield. I bought the car and called the sales manager who told me to call him to set up the repair. He wouldn't answer his phone and didn't even have the decency to respond to my messages. The repair was his suggestion in the first place! After 3 weeks, my wife finally emails the higher ups and we get a call right away. Bring the car in, they'll fix it. They kept my car for the entire afternoon and did virtually nothing. They said they applied some sort of resin to stop the chip from growing which has not worked. The chip in the windshield is beginning to spread now. On top of that, I paid an 88$ fee for the dealership to handle the tag and title stuff with the dmv. They didn't bother to handle any of that until a day after the temporary tag expired. So now I have a new Jeep with no plates. I shouldn't have to chase these people around to ensure that they fulfill their end of our agreement a month after purchase. Doing business with Sunshine Chevrolet was regrettable and is not a mistake I will make in the future. read more

My life partner and I went in last Saturday to look at a Santa Fe 4wd. We test drove the car and it seemed fine. When we got back on the lot, I smelled something. I asked for the hood to be popped. Well...it had a main oil seal leak. So, we said we didn't want it. We left and went looking elsewhere. When we got back home we got a phone call from our salesman, Caleb, stating that they just had a 2006 Trailblazer come in and that it would be a good one for us. He asked us to give him a call back and let him know if we were interested. I called him ASAP on Monday morning and said that we were very interested but we couldn't come back until Saturday because of our work schedules. Caleb said that was fine and that the truck hadn't been inspected yet and serviced because it was just traded in. Monday night we noticed it on their website and became worried that it was going to be sold prior to our appointment. We did an online pre-approval and I emailed him immediately. Yesterday he emailed me back and informed me that the truck was sold and it was sold before it even left the service department. I was so upset. We were the first ones called about the truck and we were the first customers who wanted it. The pre-approval was done in my partner's name and well after the truck was sold, she got several emails from a different sales person asking her to schedule an appointment to drive the truck!!! I called Sunshine Chevrolet and the internet sales lady that I spoke to said that if I wanted it held, I should have made a deposit. No one told me I needed to do that. Caleb just said we could come back Saturday. Well, the sales manager, Steven, called me on my cellphone and left his personal cellphone number to call me. I did as soon as I got home from work. He wasn't very understanding or pleasant to me at all. He basically said that Sunshine needs to make money and that they will sell to the first person that gives them money on vehicle. He said, "first come, first serve" and said that he wanted to help us find a car. I informed he that "no, he didn't" and that if he did, he wouldn't sale a vehicle that we were given an appointment to test drive and so paperwork on. He still had a very negative tone with me and kept saying that "they" did nothing wrong. I hung up on him because of how he sounded toward me. I posted a Facebook note about what happened. He responded with: "My team and I are sincerely sorry that you missed out on the Trailblazer. I know how hard it can be to make it to a business to complete a transaction when you work outside the home full time. People of all walks of life visit us, purchase from us and use our service department daily, and we appreciate every one! That's a big part of why we stay open until 7 pm every weekday and are always willing to stay even later for a customer who needs to come in after they complete their workday. As for "holding" vehicles, our policy is very straight forward. If a customer has seen and wants a vehicle in our inventory, but needs time for whatever reason to complete the transaction, we will hold that vehicle upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit. While I know its frustrating to miss out on this particular vehicle, the family who came in, looked at it, and ultimately purchased it certainly expected that we make it available to them, and would be upset if we told them someone else wanted to see it first. Poorest customer service we have ever experienced. We made an appointment to drive a 2018 Tahoe on Tuesday evening. It was exactly what we had been looking for and made a cash offer. They didn't like the fact of a cash paying customer because they get a kick back from the financing agency. We told them if they made it worth our time to fill out all the finance papers, we would accept that. They came back with about 300 dollars difference which we felt would be a waste of our time to go through the process. So when they wouldn't work with a cash offer, we decided to leave. We were about 10 minutes down the road when they called with another offer. By this time we were hungry and frustrated, so we told them we would think on it overnight. My husband was out of town Wednesday and called that afternoon to give them a credit card number for a down payment to hold it until we could get there Thursday. They assured us it was no problem and they would see us Thursday. Well, Thursday morning they called to say it was sold Wednesday evening!! We are SURE it was to someone who would finance, so the dealership could get their kick back. What a horrible way to treat someone who supposedly had a down payment to hold a car. Ironically, we received an email on Friday from another sales person saying she hoped everything went well with our visit! So, I emailed her back to let her know what happened. NO response. Went in on 11/24/2020 to look at and purchase a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan which had a good price of 16,600. My sales person's name was Robert. My wife and I have fair credit at best. Also had to roll 1200 negative equity from my previous van being totaled. Was told I was approved at 450.00 a month. I had to ask what the interest rate was and was told 18%. This was all by Robert. Never was told how long, what the bottom dollar amount was etc. Told him my wife would not be happy with that figure and went outside to tell her. She went back inside and told Robert we wanted a car payment in the 350 range. She came back outside was on the phone when Robert came back outside and said they didn't have anything on the lot that was 350 a month. And then suggested we go to a BUY HERE PAY HERE place. And if he denies doing it he is lying. But I guess we should have been jumping up and down to get approved. I don't think so. read more

They are all about the sales but do not care about the quality of their sales. They do not do the work they say they did which was proved by local trustworthy mechanics. Very disappointed as a family member of who used to own Fletcher Chevrolet. No one in my family will go there after it was sold. I learned the hard way as to why. read more

I took my 2005 Equinox there originally because my ABS and TC lights were on. They replaced my caliper 363.00$ no big deal. I went home and sure enough the ABS and TC lights came back on and now I had a new grinding sound in my brakes. I took it back a second time. This time they told me they had to replace the axle and hub, another 730.00. I left again and guess what the light came on again and the grinding was still there. I called and went back, strangely enough they said the couldn't find anything wrong. I left and went home. The following day my car almost didn't stop because of this grinding. I took it back to the dealership for the FOURTH time. Now they say it's a ABS computer that is bad. Another 1000.00$$$ repair I told them that it seems like they are an extreme ripoff. I would not recommend anyone go to this service department unless you want to buy a new car. So now I'm stuck with no ABS no TC and they just want to keep replacing parts.
