That means that all the space between the cottages is a campus for safe play. The campus has horseshoes, swings, basketball, tetherball and volleyball. There are lot of sand toys, and there are rowboats and canoes. Mary and Brian take really good care of the property. They clean the beach every night and set up fire pits. Cottages are between rustic and luxury. There is a convenience store just a mile away that has a s'mores section, sandwiches and ice cream. For full supermarket you have to drive into town. We keep coming back because North Bay Landing is everything that we need and like for a family vacation.

The cabins have a great rustic feel and provide the right comforts (microwave, coffee maker, gas stove and oven, full size fridge, heat for the chilly nights) that make spending time at the lake very enjoyable. The grounds are also laid out very well with each cabin having a picnic table and charcoal grill, but with a huge common area in the middle. There's plenty of space to play frisbee, start up a volleyball game, play horseshoes, or just hang out, which was quite a change from other accommodations in the area that are stacked together so tightly. There's also plenty of options to get out and enjoy the water whether in a paddle boat or row boat, or taking advantage of the two long docks to tie up your own boat for your stay (you will need to launch from a public drop-in and motor over). We ended up taking a day trip to Sleeping Bear which is just under 2 hours away, but we also took advantage of the closer state park on other days. Plenty to door and easy to go anywhere! Overall we couldn't have been happier with our stay and will most definitely be back again!

When we pulled in, we were approached by a park attendant person who was maskless and refused to give us any appropriate distance. When we expressed our discomfort with the situation, we were told by the park attendant that "if you're not for Trump, you better haul ass." So we left. There are too many beautiful, welcoming, and safe places in Michigan to be stuck spending the night here.

Very relaxed atmosphere. * We rented all 5 cottages for extended family. They were clean, the beds were very comfortable and the AC worked well. They also had smart TVs which was a plus. * We loved the common space between all of the cabins. We set things up there the first night (corn hole, tents, sand toys for the beach, extra chairs) and left them up the whole week. And there was no need to bring the above equipment because it was all provided by the resort. * The beach was large for a private resort and clean. * We rented a boat from Brian's marina for the week and were able to tie it to the dock.
