Parking was a little tricky, but once we got there it was easy and enjoyable to walk through the displays. The lights were festive and made for a nice, relaxed stroll. They also had drinks and snacks available for purchase, which was a nice touch. If I'm in Idaho again during the holidays, I would definitely come back.

One night would've been enough unless you're big into fast boating. On the bright side, no annoying rap or music blaring from any campsite. Nice neighbors. Same with Ponderosa State Park. Just that Ponderosa exceeded expectations. 5 stars. Especially with the miles of beautiful ponderosa pine tree nice trails and bike trails. But mosquitos there now in July. Update: I hear stinkin rap. Stop that nasty stuff. Anyway, this is not a place I would return, sad as it sounds. It's just not that great.

The historical park is an interesting concept as it covers 38 sites located across the states of…read moreIdaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. It just shows how large the territory used by the Nez Perce was (and when you look at the size of their reservation now, sadly how small and confined they are now). There's a museum at the park headquarters which goes into the culture of the Nez Perce and how it was changed and evolved with the introduction of horses, white settlers, and to the present. If you're also looking into the history of the region, one stop is Canoe Camp, where the Nez Perce helped Lewis and Clark by feeding them and to carve the canoes that took them to the Pacific Ocean Captains. The Corps of Discovery spent more time among the Nez Perce than any other group they encountered in their journey, and entrusted them with their horses and gear as they embarked on their final leg of their journey to the Pacific Ocean.
