I requested a room with a city view because you have to this time of year when the lights are on display. My room had two bathrooms and two closets in it. It doesn't get much better than that. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. This time of year they have it beautifully decorated for the holidays. They have Christmas trees that are not just for decoration but for sale as well as individual ornaments which I thought was an interesting but festive touch. They have a bar and a restaurant inside the hotel itself. They offer a small complimentary breakfast in the mornings (wish they had a few more options). They also host weddings and events in their event space and conference room. I can't wait to return. If you love the beauty Of history like I do, this is a must stay!

I made reservations here months ago...and Lorraine kept good communication with me...regarding my stay...she even noticed that I did not book the room for the full stay that I needed...she took it upon herself and added and extra night to my 11 day stay....which was amazing! because otherwise I would had not had a hotel available the night of my arrival. Cleansiness is HUGE for me, I walked barefoot in her beautiful wood finished floors....and to my surprise the "clean" feeling was omnipresent....my towels, the bath mats everything was just impeccable. I truly slept like a princess here. I will leave MO a new country girl, with new experiences. Ask her to give you a tour of her 8 acre property..its simply stunning!

We have never had any issues and the staff had always been friendly. I fave this hotel four stars simply because I was trying to be picky and find something wrong. So, here are the three negatives I have found. 1. The location of the hotel is on the end of town. If you want to walk anywhere you need to be prepared to walk pretty far. 2. The pool is a little small. 3. The times I have been here I have asked for an extra blanket. The blankets are always thin and I need two. I hope this helps all you Yelpers!

I did note the room was nicely decorated, the largest LED television I've ever seen in a room (55 inches), and a nice microwave and refrigerator. Although the bed was a little bit too hard, I was able to rest on it comfortably. I looked at the mattress for bed bugs (like I do at all hotels) and noted this was a generic, all weather, plastic covered full sized mattress you could go rafting down a river on or use with other water sports. True story. There were some minor concerns: Upon initial hotel registration, the gentleman behind the counter in his native language got on the phone. I overheard my name said twice while he was looking at my driver's license. Not sure what that was about, so I let it go. First time I've experienced this odd behavior by a hotel representative. Later that evening there was some creepy guy eye-balling me from his room. I had seen him earlier talking with the owner or staff member, and I initially thought he may work there. Ensure your anti-virus and malware is up to date. I had caught a virus on their hotel wifi, in which I had to reformat my computer when I got home.
