We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor water slides, something you won't find hardly ever. We played putt putt golf after. The entire perimeter of the property is dedicated to fun activities for kids. You can tell it is family owned and they take pride in it. From the fully stocked pool towels, the spotless rooms, the clean fresh scent everywhere, and the well maintained facilities and amenities - nothing here has been allowed to slide. Everything is open longer than other hotels, the service is fast and friendly, outside is well lit and spotless. Chain hotels around here charge more, and offer much less. I highly recommend!

But my kiddos needed something NORMAL before school started up. We couldn't POSSIBLY cancel our annual summer vacation! This trip we stayed in Lakewood Resort's newest unit, just above the office. Wowza. Jacuzzi, in-unit laundry and a super secluded view of their alcove of the lake. A very nice spot. Our favorite unit. Coming from a college town where tons of protocols are done, a couple things rubbed me the wrong way. But ultimately, I felt safe. If you have kiddos who love outdoor swimming pools, this is the resort to stay at! My four year old has a phobia of not seeing his feet in the lake water. He will choose the 'blue water' over the 'brown water' any day of the week. This pool boasts a lake view. You also have the pool to yourself almost all day everyday since a majority of the folks that stay here go out on the lake each day. Talk about a great socially distanced week full of swimming and family! This was our third stay at this resort. The staff is friendly. The property is well maintained. The location is convenient and near a lot of great spots. There's internet in each unit. There's a lot to enjoy at Lakewood Resort.

My husband has been here several times but not since it was taken over by Mararitaville so that was new to him. The room appeared to be freshly updated and had clean and nice amenities including a nice bathroom and shower and all the shampoo and lotion and soaps smelled wonderful - like coconut and Pinacolada. I like that the room key is a bracelet which makes it easy to wear and keep up with. I wish all hotels did this. This is not a 4-5 star resort so it met my expectations for the price point of about $200 a night.

The hours for their restaurants and shops were weird. Everything was open for only a specific time. They had one restaurant that was basically only open for breakfast/brunch but closed around 3pm. Then their steak restaurant was open for dinner only. We had originally planned on trying the steak restaurant but after reading the reviews of the subpar food and service we decided to try somewhere else off of the hotel grounds. We arrived early and tried checking in but they're advised us that our rooms were not ready yet and they took down our names to give us a call when they were ready. The hotel is huge, I know they have way too many rooms that aren't being occupied. The resort feels like it was popular about two decades ago but now it's just sad. I was honestly scared to walk on the carpet, it felt so old. Everything about the room screamed 70's. It's like they hadn't updated anything since the hotel originally opened. The bathroom was a bit questionable for cleanliness too. But our view from the room was nice! We had a partial view of the lake. The patio furniture consisted of two dirty plastic chairs. The way they have the patios set up is a bit suspicious too. The bars to the rooms next door are very wide so almost anyone can just walk onto your patio. I didn't like that aspect because of safety issues. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Lake Ozark then The Lodge of Four Seasons is it! Just be expected to be transported to the 70's and stay there until you check out.
