Pros - my daughter started lessons at 9 months old and really likes it! The water isn't super warm,…read morebut the room is so it feels good getting in. One parent goes in with her and does all of the activities holding her. She just moved up to the next level, meaning the instructors will start to do more with her while we observe nearby. It's made her more comfortable and used to water. Some cons - the instructors rotate so she hasn't bonded with anyone. We also don't know anyone's names - there are 0 introductions to the instructors or other parents/kids. Also, the administrative side of things isn't the most organized. Her class was cancelled on Saturday, but then we got an email 40 min later saying it was back on and there was no one to answer the phone. The times offered aren't the most convenient either, especially for a little one with an early bedtime and naps. Wish they would offer classes on Sundays!!

I explained to her what I wanted to achieve by joining British Swim School of LA Fitness Towson. Once the pool was officially opening back up, Kat contacted me and I got signed up for lessons. The 1st day up until the last was an amazing and very humbling experience and to say all Kat's swim instructors extremely awesome is an understatement. There much more than awesome. They work with you in whatever it is you need help with. That can be free style, back float, front float, etc....you name it. There very patient and value your time you have for class. They take there time to demonstrate any style or technique you need before any expectations of any student. My classes were normally on Monday and Wednesday's but another thing I love about this place is they work with your schedule. There were some days I couldn't make my normal schedule, but Kay would let me make it up on a Saturday. If your starting from never have been in the water to some experience, this is the place for you for sure. In my 3 months I have spent at the pool classes, I have learned so much from day one. I can successfully leave with the convivence I was looking for. This place is affordable in my opinion and worth every dollar spent. I would definitely recommend British Swim School in Towson to anyone. Thank you ladies for everything. LJ

Often times, the water was too cold, or the structure of the class was unstructured. At Goldfish, I LOVE how they have the classes broken up by age. I also love the temperature of the water and the cleanliness of the facility. The staff is all friendly and looking out for the best interest of the parents and most importantly the children. They have a very flexible schedule and the opportunity for parties, family swim, and make up classes. The first week our princess was very nervous and the teachers knew what to do to get her comfortable and laughing. By the second class she was not as anxious as before and ready to get in the water. We will continue to take her as she gets this swimming thing down. The location is great, off of Owings Mills Blvd. There is parking in the front and back. Prices are very reasonable. They also have swimsuits and other items for purchase. Oh, the other impressive thing....the multiple changing rooms and bathrooms, and the hair dryers. It's really a great place!

Update: 27 July…read more Although I thought my son would be consistently able to attend the swim sessions with the manager of the school on the weekday evenings, it's become apparent that this is not going to happen. I've found it hard to get in touch with the instructors/manager to pay for my sons session and it's too much work to do as a paying customer to feel like you have to chase down someone to get a class scheduled. I'm in a few social media groups for autistic parents and one of them are affiliated in Baltimore. Many of the parents of autistic children shared the same sentiment of the Goldfish Schools that either instructors keep leaving or they cannot find instructors who are qualified with working with children with special needs. Should we all stick with one on one swimming lessons, maybe, but some special needs children learn faster in social settings to mimic their peers and also shouldn't be subjected to isolation to learn a life saving skill. Sadly we will be going to another swim school.

It's a great facility for the summer time since it is only open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. There's aqua Zumba and water yoga available for an extra fee if members are interested and they seem to be very popular. You can also bring your own food in, which most pools don't allow, but Jennifer doesn't sell food so that's a plus as well. All of the staff are high school or college students who are trained and knows their job very well. I'd highly recommend this pool for the summer time.

Forced me to create an account, provide details about where we live and leave a phone number. The process was a bit confusing as they also asked for credit card to be on file even though we weren't purchasing anything, just trying to attend a party. Thankfully the host of the party had sent out a detailed text letting the party attendees know how to accurately fill out the form. The party itself was cool. We arrived at the allotted time and were greeted by an employee who seemed the party host. She took our gifts and we went in and mingled a bit while others arrived. Once they were ready to start, the kids were taken to the pool area, which was separated from the non swimmers and party area by a floor to ceiling glass wall that ran the length of the pool. Keeping the wet and dry separate.... brilliant idea! The host gave them instructions, lifeguards did a quick swim test and then the kids got to swim. After swimming, pizza was served, cake was served, birthday songs were sung and games were played. The host and lifeguards served the pizza, cut and served the cake and got the games started. There were ample changing areas (I believe at least nine) so that kids weren't standing around wet and waiting to change. Once the party was done the swim school provided goody bags that included a balloon, cotton candy, a coloring page and a couple trinkets. I'm not sure if during the waiver process I filled in the wrong thing but I have received at least one call since the party asking about swimming lessons. I don't love that. Goldfish Swim School hosted an excellent party. Registration was a bit tedious and it remains to be seen how much solicitation will occur post party, that's what makes this a four star instead of five star experience.

Very Disappointing Experience My daughter attended this swim…read moreschool for about 15 months, and she still doesn't know how to swim. They never leveled her up until we asked, and their methods are slow and ineffective. Most instructors are high school kids working part-time, and there's little focus on real progress. When I reached out to the owner, he blamed the child instead of taking responsibility or offering help. We've since moved to another swim school, and the new instructors said she has to start from scratch. So much time, effort, and money wasted -- if a child can't learn basic swimming after 15 months, the program clearly doesn't work.

This should be a five star place, gave it four - due to staff - see below…read more The facility is tucked into a strip mall. Lots of parking and wheelchair accessible. Great. The pool is a good size, with an accessible lift, stairs, and ladders as options for entry and exit. The pool also has little platforms so that younger children can be in shallow water without hanging on the steps and blocking ingress and egress. Great. The pool is surrounded by glass walls and windows so people who do not want to be in the warm and humid and chlorine smelling pool area can still watch their kiddos swim and have fun. Great. The lifeguard walking around the pool during party time is very attentive. Great. The party room is a little bit small but big enough to put a room full of kiddos each with a parent around the three tables, each seats, eight children. Also, plenty of room in the entry area and a hallway leading to the locker rooms in shower area for kids to run and play and have fun during party time. Great. So why only four stars instead of when the places so nifty? Because the two staff folks who sat at the front desk during this three hour children's party talked to each other and spent time on their phones and pretty much did nothing in the way of interaction with or support of the hosts of this party. The folks hosting the party did all the set up and also all of the cleanup. The two people at the desk did move the trash bags out to wherever they put trash bags behind the facility after the hosts cleaned everything thoroughly. But the staff didn't interact with anybody at any point nor help when people were looking for things like paper towels. And then they came up to other people - parents who were not the host of the party - and asked them "do you think that the hosts are going to leave us a tip?" I just find that a little appalling. My guess is that the host family was planning on leaving a tip - because that's who and how they are. And, my guess is that they left a good tip, but I also guess that they would've left an even better tip had those two people done anything to show any interest or support during this gathering. Instead, they went to other parents, reminding them to tell the hosts that a tip was anticipated. If you're that concerned, be supportive of the event, and ask the host of the party who are paying to rent the facility directly. Don't go to other family members and friends and drop blatant hints. That's unprofessional. Not great. You're lucky you got four stars and not three.

I've been loving Monday night spin classes with Zain - he is an incredible instructor with the best playlists. His class is some of the most fun I've had at a workout class. It feels more like dancing with a group of friends than working out. I bike about 10 miles in his 45 minute class which is something I just never thought I'd be capable of. I've also been enjoying Wednesday evening barre classes upstairs with Erin. This is a new class and I hope they keep it on the schedule! Erin is a great instructor who queues very clearly and makes the class feel fun with her high energy. As someone who primarily weight lifts, barre is such a refreshing challenge for me. I feel like I'm learning a whole new skill set in that class. For a bit, I was also liking the Thursday evening mat pilates class with Chi but they seemed to have taken it off the schedule now :( The weight training areas continue to be conducive for a great workout. My only wish would be that they replace some of the elliptical machines with treadmills. When the gym gets a little busy, it's easy for the treadmills to fill up pretty fast since there's about 8 treadmills total. Whereas, there's probably twice as many ellipticals and I don't think I've ever seen more than a few people using them at a time. I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that you now how to ask the front desk for a towel - this isn't something I've seen at any of the other locations. The bathrooms are a bit outdated and could use some updating as well.
