I know people may have a bad day, consequently, a negative comment might have some effect on their business, but, if you have a business, customer service should be priority number one. I have been a client of Caceres and Caceres for four years and never had any problems. They were nice. This year I went to have my taxes done on 3/10/20. I have to pay to the IRS and agreed to have my taxes remitted on 4/1/20; however, due to current situation with Covid-19, the date to file the taxes was extended up to July 15. On 3/17/20, I sent an email to Xavier Caceres indicating that I did not want to send my taxes and payment until June 30. I sent four emails, but as of today's date, I am still waiting for his reply. I called the office on 3/30 and spoke to someone, left a message indicating that I did not want to send my taxes on 4/1/20, as originally scheduled, and for Xavier to answer my emails and called me. I called again on 3/31, but no one answered the call and did not have voice mail (hard to believe that a business do not have a voicemail), thus, I could not leave a message. Xavier has ignored my emails and the message I left at the office. My taxes were remitted to the IRS as originally scheduled on 4/1/20. The irresponsible and unethical behavior of this firm is unacceptable, especially with the financial situation that we are all facing because of the current pandemic. They have to seriously work on their customer service skills, upgrade their modus operandis, and keep up with the times by upgrading the communication skills and at least have a voice mail or an answering service, so the clients can leave a voice message or communicate with them!! I am writing this review on all platforms I could find on the web, sending an email to all my contacts, and filing a complaint to the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. My husband and I filed our 2018 taxes with Yitos Group based on a friend's recommendation, but…read moreoverall I am disappointed with the experience and would not recommend. As far as I can tell, the taxes were filed correctly, but the communication process has been difficult from the very beginning. We were promised deadlines that were repeatedly pushed back with no notice, along with somewhat snarky email replies about being busy and having to prioritize clients. This was a red flag for me since they had agreed to review our taxes by a certain date and continued to miss the deadlines without letting us know. Once everything was in order to e-file, Lazaro sent the tax return and tax amount due to my husband without CCing me (this happened with so many emails, in addition to getting my email wrong several times). There was no explanation about what was due or that it wasn't automatically taken from a refund or how to pay, and again, I never received this email. We received notice from the state of California that we owed money, and when we FWDed to Yitos, Lazaro said to disregard, that he'd take a look when back from vacation and that it would all void out. Upon his return, he made it clear he spent "loooooong" hours waiting on hold with "California" and that we owe this money, that it was not an oversight on his end but that it "could be" an oversight on ours. So... we owe money, he didn't include information about payment when he filed our taxes, he didn't send the notice to me, and his emails have been evasive, defensive, confusing, and even accusatory. I will definitely file taxes either on my own or elsewhere next time. I admit we should have thought twice about asking someone in Florida (where we moved from last year) to handle taxes in California. Hopefully others have better luck, but this was my experience!
