This is a small Cheese store representing a Co-op of goat milk producers. They have a small area…read morebehind a window where you sometimes can see them making the cheese as well. Naturally, they specialize in Goat cheese. I've noticed that they strive hard to produce milder goat cheeses (no doubt to please the local palates). So if you prefer more subtle cheese, you've no need to fear this place. They do also have cows milk cheeses, and one or two sharper goat cheeses too, and don't forget your goat milk butter! Overall this is a good place to stop and get some cheese, but I haven't been blown away by any of their products myself. Still, it's tops in this neck of the woods, and worth a visit to support smaller family farms working together to make natural products.

They carry quite a bit from the local area, which is expected given the large variety of organic producers who've made the little farming plots in the driftless region home. When I come to the area to visit my cousin we frequent McCormick's. We were just recently there and it was busy, but we were still greeted with a smile. They recognized my cousin and you would think their own family member had just walked in. Even though they were busy, the waitress was smiling, and kind, and our food came pretty quickly. We have our favorite orchards, markets, bakeries, and now... we have our favorite pumpkin patch/farm stand! We had seen signs but somehow missed it - but we decided to go back the way we came in hopes of finding it again and we did - and so glad we did!!! Luckily their Facebook page is what saved us - it had a map showing us that it's tucked in a valley in Haney, WI. Two sisters ran the stand and behind it a nice size pumpkin patch that had the vine clippers ready for the pinching. Our kids had a blast looking for the perfect pumpkin and after we bought some delish warm drinks and chatted with the sisters about their family farm. They also have pre-picked pumpkins, gourds, warm drinks, and some bakery items. We learned they also grow veggies throughout the growing season and sell at local farmer markets. The Sand Farm's pumpkins also have personality - they are EXTRA! These are not your standard "Walmart" carving pumpkins - these come in all shapes, sizes, colors, bumps, no-bumps - everyone can find a pumpkin that's best for them. Their prices can't be beaten. We walked away with 3 beautiful pumpkins - only $11! The Sand Farm is local agriculture/agritourism that is quaint, has a heart, and a spirit that we look forward to supporting when we are visiting the reason annually during the summer/fall. They are a new "add" to our annual apple-weekend "hit" list of must-visit stops.

Goddammitt, raise your prices a bit more; or look upon the charges as a Customer aqquisitin cost. Who carries cash anymore? Who enjoys being inline behind someone with the moldy coin purse counting out nickels and pennies as it were some badge of honor to have EXACT change. My Credit Card ALWAYS has EXACT Change at the sound of and instant TAP! Organic is Current, Healthy is Current. Credit Cards are Current. You will go broke waiting for that $15.01 golden customer. Oh Yes, they did accept my Credit Card payment for my $12.02 purchase. Maybe it was a slow day or I was a Fabulous Customer.

We had planned on buying several bouquets of flowers from a farmer's market in La Crosse which we would have had to cut and arrange, but I am so glad we met Faith instead! Faith came over to the barn to plan what we needed and what time to deliver. She cut the flowers fresh from her garden the morning of the wedding, made at least 30 beautiful arrangements, and delivered them to the barn. We got so many compliments on how they turned out and had gorgeous flowers for about two weeks following the wedding. I would absolutely recommend her!
