We feel that…read moreour son gets a lot of attention from his teachers - you can tell by their familiarity with his personality quirks and favorite activities. Each of the teachers know my son by name, even the ones in the baby classroom who don't interact with him as often. The facilities are brand new and beautiful. The director picked out every piece of furniture and every toy herself, and it shows - each classroom has an indescribable homey feel. Our son loves the fish tank right in the foyer. The toddler classroom windows are higher up by the street, so you can easily look down and wave to your child after drop-off and on your way in to pick-up. It's very sweet to peek in and see our son. On the way home each day, he and I stop at the window and he waves "bye bye" to his teachers and classmates from the outside. I have also been very pleased by the variety of activities. The teachers take the toddler students to the park, create age-appropriate art projects, and sing songs during circle time. CCLC provides a morning and afternoon snack for the day. The children have an afternoon nap, and the teachers make sure our son has his "lovie" and favorite blanket. Finally, I really appreciate the level of individualized communication from the teachers. We get an information sheet about his day at pick-up. In addition to what you might expect (times of diaper changes, length of nap, etc.), there is always a full paragraph that begins "Today, I....." written from the child's perspective detailing some of the highlights of the day. My spouse and I love reading through these paragraphs in the evening - the teachers clearly pay attention to our son. I love hearing about him stepping in green play-dough, wandering away from the circle during singing time, and playing with the toy cash register. We also receive emails over the weekend describing our son's week (sometimes pictures, too!). One weekend a teacher emailed to check in and see how our son was feeling after he wasn't quite himself on Friday. I very much appreciate how he is treated as an individual and how much his teachers clearly care.

(And I am a picky person, so that's saying a lot!) they integrate activities with structured play with just good old "dance parties" for the toddlers to get them laughing and moving. In the infant room the babies get to have sensory play and fun as well. Parents get pics and detailed info daily, throughout the day. In a city with daycares on nearly every corner, CCLC @ School St is the treasure that puts your child first!

The teachers are so kind, careful, thoughtful, and creative, and they really care about each child. The teachers treat my kids like their own. Teachers provide detailed daily updates with photos, what my kids ate that day, how long they napped for, and when they used the potty. We also receive weekly lesson reports summarizing what the children have learned over the week or past 2 weeks, which helps us to reinforce at home what they learn at school. The director, Shirley, is always coming up with educational programming for our kids (like field trips, piano lessons, music lessons, dance lessons etc) and pre-Covid, they had a spectacular Chinese New year and graduation programs where the kids learn dances and songs and perform for the parents. Shirley also is very health-conscious and thoughtful about the best way to keep children, staff, and families safe. My daughter also has many food allergies, and Sunshine staff have always accommodated us very well (breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided--I cannot say enough what a life-saver this is) and the staff have always been very careful with what she can or cannot eat. I cannot recommend Sunshine enough. We love it here.

However, I…read morefelt compelled to write a review after touring this center and communicating with the center's director Amy over the past few months. We looked at Bright Horizons because we had a number of friends with children at different facilities that all raved about it. So it was on our list when we started looking into daycares when I was pregnant with our first child. We toured the Tufts Medical Center location because it was close to where we lived and worked. The staff here were wonderful in setting up our tour, showing us around, and communicating about all the different aspects since we definitely had A LOT of questions. (I was amazed at how many other daycares that we researched were awful at communication. I would email and leave voicemails to get information only to have nobody respond to me. It definitely didn't give me a great feeling about leaving my child there.) I just got a great feeling about this center from everything we saw and our experiences in working with them over the past few months to figure everything out. What I liked about this center: Great communication with staff whether it was over phone/email, super clean and bright, loved the programming they follow, great location downtown by the T, open door policy (you can drop in at any time to visit your little one which is great if you're breastfeeding or just want to say hi), and extra things to make a busy working parent's life easier like stroller/car seat storage, loading zone, etc.

Like most daycare's there is a turnover in staff whether it is the teachers or the directors. We lucked out however and pretty much had teachers that were there long term and were very highly regarded. These teachers became a second mom to my child - they taught her things I never would have dreamed about teaching my child had she been in a home setting. I give them full credit for potty training my child at 25 months. We have had the teachers in my home and they've been invited to birthday parties. A few teachers even took the time to visit my child when she was in Children's Hospital for a week (after they finished their day). No daycare is perfect, don't let them tell you any different. The director we had prior to leaving was Meghan who was wonderful (probably my favorite out of all of them - I think she might have been # 4 over the course of our time there). No matter what daycare you look into or reviews you read there will always be a few with 1 star. Don't let that deter you from visiting this center and checking it out. We all parent differently and have different expectations on what we need or want for our children. My child was loved in this school for a long time - it was a sad day when we left to progress to Kindergarten. I credit the fact that my child is thriving in Kindergarten to her experience at Little Sprouts. Also - give your child time to adjust to a new setting. Children can't and won't adapt overnight. My child cried frequently at drop off for years (master manipulator) I was no sooner in my car driving to work in the mornings and I would get a text from the teacher with a pic of my child smiling. At the end of the day she didn't want to leave! We were at the school alongside many of the same families over the years. From my experience the only time folks left was because they moved, job situation changed, or the kid moved to K1. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions. Happy to answer them!

That was until one of my friends I met in my moms group mentioned to me about a school near by called Ethos that her daughter was a student at. After we started getting into the rhythm of being new parents our ideas of what things will Be changed as they do for many first time parents and all of sudden we were open to an alternative plan for our daughters childcare and i gave in decided to check out Ethos since my mom friend spoke incredibly highly of the program. Wow how lucky was i that my friend told me about this amazing gem that i am convinced there is NO other program in the Boston Cory limits offering anything close to the curriculum and environment the Ethos staff/leadership have cultivated here. The biggest selling point for me was the Foundational core values of the school that focused on diversity, inclusion, mindfulness, and embedding a since of local community for the children. The school works extremely hard to maintain all of those core values not only for the environment for the children but also amongst the teaching staff. I love that my daughter can be at a school that embraces differences. Most importantly the thing I love the very most is how much the teachers, staff, and leadership truly love each and every single child and put the children's well being first. This school has continue to impress me with their willingness to constantly be open to feedback, continued focus on rigorous improvement, and building a community amongst all the parents of the school. To this day the hardest thing I've had to do as a mom was go back to work and leave my daughter, but I can honestly say our family at Ethos has made that decision something I can be proud of because of the incredible development I've seen in my child vs. Her peer set not in the program. Additionally I wanted to also mention I have never had an issue being in touch with any of the staff or teachers and have been impressed actually with how they have always been, even off hours. Education is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child and I can give my full whole hearted approval from myself and my husband of the brilliantly designed program that Ethos has built.
