As someone who enjoys walking outdoors near bodies of water, I truly enjoyed this walk. There was a good amount of seating throughout the park. There were various other recreational courts that you can use alongside, public restrooms, outdoor grills, large fields to gather in for picnics, workouts, etc. There is also a good amount of public parking. Secret Lake Park is lovely, and it is also peaceful. You can fish or just enjoy overlooking the lakes in a moment of solitude. Speaking of lakes, Secret Lake Park is made up of a series of lakes at varying sizes that you can walk near/around. They also have some historical boards in the park that you can read about the history of the lakes.

When we first moved here, this park had almost nothing to it. I think one pavilion, some swings, a small pond where you can watch the fish and turtles. However, today this park is absolutely beautiful and filled with so many amenities. The park as you will see from my pictures is loaded with beautiful, mature shade trees. A sizable splash pad for the little ones, restrooms and much more. Huge pavilions for large groups to hold family reunions, birthday celebrations, etc. If you have children, this is a wonderful park to have a family gathering, or a nice picnic lunch with a friend. Overlook Park is located on Lake Jessup near the southern end of the beltway bridge. The park is surrounded by two sulfur springs of historical significance, one to the east and one to the west that give you the feeling as if you are on a small island. The three acre park has a pavilion with several picnic tables and a grill. Throughout the park are large oak trees covered in moss that provides a shaded canopy from the sun. Around the water's edge are Cyprus trees with their interconnecting roots, also known as Cyprus knees, that stick up out of the ground. As you look out towards the water, you can see a newly reconstructed boardwalk popular with local fisherman. I especially enjoyed the wildlife at the park which is home to osprey, various Florida wading birds, and the alligators of Lake Jessup. This is an especially picturesque and peaceful park with a rich depth of area history.

The park has a nature trail, paved walking areas, a dog park, a fenced in baseball field, soccer fields, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. We stopped by for the annual Fall Harvest Festival; it was a free event with live music, food, fun, and entertainment. We stayed for about two hours, met the mayor of Winter Springs and chatted with a few vendors while waiting for the Karate exhibition to start. After that we watched some of the band before heading out. It's a wonderful event for families. Very inexpensive day out with the kids, with lot of free items, and games to keep them occupied. Be sure to bring some chairs, and a cooler full of goodies so you can make a day out it. The Winter Springs EMS and Police were in attendance so it felt like a safe and secure place to bring the family. All-in-all, a great way to spend some of our Saturday without breaking the bank.

Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.

The pool has a zero drop entry with some splash features for kids. The other end of the pool is for lap swimming. There are some tables and chairs with umbrellas but they fill up fast. There are life guards that help keep everyone safe and following the rules. There is a cost to enter the pool but it is very reasonably priced. They even have seasonal and annual passes and they take credit cards. We will be back to enjoy these amenities again!

In the surrounding area there a several other eateries, restaurants, an ice cream shop, The Food Factory (Food Hall) which has live music, a gorgeous indoor pub (Park Pub), along with other retail shops and luxury apartments. Bear Creek Trail was a fun discovery on a recent trip to Winter Springs. There is a small parking…read morearea at the trailhead. From the parking area the trail radiates in both directions through a small hammock area with ancient cypress, oaks, and cabbage palms. The natural area serves as a floodplain buffer between two neighborhoods in the Tuscawilla community. The trail is maintained by the City of Winter Springs. Bear Creek Nature Trail is narrow and sandy. It runs parallel to Bear Creek. There are changes in elevation which makes it more interesting and you cross two small bridges. When you are high above the creek you have to be cognizant of your footing so that you don't accidentally step off the trail and fall. There are also picnic tables available. The length of the trail is .9 of a mile. Bear Creek Nature Trail was an easy and fun hike and I enjoyed the view of the creek. It also had the added bonus of being mostly shaded and bug free!

Unfortunately for them, the area was plagued by chiggers, small biting insects that would irritate the cattle and the cowboys tending them. The lake and the road leading to it became known as Red Bug Lake and Red Bug Lake Road because of the abundance of the biting red bugs. Thankfully there is no longer any sign of the biting red bugs. Today Red Bug Lake is the site of a popular park with a variety of recreational amenities. These include a restroom, playground, baseball field, sand volleyball court, outdoor exercise equipment, tennis courts, fishing pier, and boardwalk. Adult softball leagues and adult and youth tennis programs are offered in the park. This park is clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed taking in nature and wildlife on the .9 mile paved walking trail that circles the lake. I was able to spot several birds. It is ideal for joggers, walkers, and anyone looking to participate in gentle exercise. The park also has a picnic area with tables and grill for family gatherings and cookouts. This park is a great recreational spot for relaxing, exercising, and enjoying family time.

Otherwise, it seems like a nice park with plenty of parking, some covered pavilions, tennis course and fields for sports. It also does have a little bit of a nice lake view so that could be awesome for relaxing and/or bird watching. I have not had the opportunity to interact with any staff or make any reservations, if needed, so I can't speak to that.
