HA AH! you can yelp high schools now, amazing…read more Anyways I went to Mission San Jose High School since my freshmen year and graduated year of 06, this school is constantly known as one of the top high schools and ...it is true if you look at test results etc.. after all after the new SATs were out the first time it was given 3 out of the 4 people who got full score were from our school. This school is mainly composed of ... you guessed it! asians!! and no just like the famous Russel Peters said asians are not just Chinese, there are many koreas and indians as well. I had a great experience at this school but there are a few down falls. First the administration does not very closely monitor how teachers work, but then again I don't think other schools do as well, but some teachers are just ... I want to say F****** Retarded, no names now but my junior year English teacher Mr. _____(his last name was a color so take a wild guess) was a fruit basket with bananas on top, he thought he was the smartest man ever and his grading was extremely unfair. Also my sophomore year English teacher was the weirdest man ever, he spent one class telling the whole class how we're stupid and not going to succeed in life, interesting to say the least.. Also many other English teachers I didn't have I also heard some pretty bad things about. Actually now that I think about it only the English department had some issues, so MSJ needs to up their game in that area. Secondly, the cafeteria staff wasn't friendly at all, the asian lady who works there seems like she always has her pants pulled up too high or something, always rude to everyone and never said you're welcome when we said thank you. But I had some very good experiences as well, the leadership teacher/ activities coordinator was very good and fun to work with Mr. B! and our principal was pretty cool as well. The majority of the teachers were good but there are a few bad eggs that ruin the basket. It's too bad. FINALLY, I must finish saying, that the cupertino high schools yes LYNBOOK, Monta Vista, etc.. you guys need an update on test scores, I'm so sick of those chinese parents over there telling their kids that they high school is the best etc etc.. that was 10 years ago, check the scores now we're on a whole other level ahead of you guys, I'm so sick of being in college and having those cupertino kids think they are so much smarter than us, REALITY CHECK TIME!!!

When I graduated from this school (2006), I think it was approximately 78% Asian. White people…read morelearned to use chopsticks, speak Chinese, and drink milk tea. (w:Ow.) Our year was also the very first time in 13 years that our football game actually won the homecoming game. (...) Peer pressure at this school was not to have sex or do drugs--it was to get into a good college (this is what you get for going to an Asian high school), which meant 239847204 extra-curriculars, half a billion APs, above a 2100 on SATs, above a 4.0 average... If a class graduated with less than 20 valedictorians, they were generally considered stupid. (Our class had 26, I believe. No, I was not one of them.) Pretty disgusting, I know. My most miserable moments at this school always revolved around academics. (Particularly chemistry, which remains the bane of my existence.) I was pretty freaking bitter about my grades. Contrary to popular opinion, despite being at the very bottom of the smart scale, I actually really liked it there. The rather disgusting stress on good grades (+ being well-rounded and such) carried on to college, so now I'm doing even more than I was then (at least I'm being productive). This is a great school, but so many of the best teachers have left. (I think all the other departments have been collectively retiring in batches.) The English department is amazing, so if you're currently a student there, please don't give them trouble. You won't find teachers like them elsewhere. :[ I have to say though, this is a sheltered school. (Since I go to a UC, I guess I'm still in a sheltered bubble.) My friend got the worst case of culture shock ever when he went to a white-dominated school (and he's white, so go figure).

They are incredibly kind and have a great sense of humor, which makes the classroom such a positive and welcoming place for the children. Together, they create an environment where every child feels seen and heard, and they build strong, meaningful connections with their students. Ms.Giri brings a nurturing and gentle approach, truly understanding that the children are still young kindergarteners. She pampers them with warmth and care, making them feel safe, comforted, and supported every day. Ms.Vohra, on the other hand, beautifully complements this by encouraging the children to become more responsible and independent. She ensures they learn to follow rules and classroom routines, helping them grow with confidence and structure. They are both attentive to the children's needs and address concerns promptly. We also have experienced their genuine care firsthand. On two occasions when my daughter misplaced her sweater, Ms.Giri went above and beyond to help--she even replaced it with a new one so my daughter wouldn't worry. Whenever my daughter has taken a sick day, she has always made it a point to personally call and check on her health, which means so much to us. They also ensured we receive the essential homework sheets on time so my daughter could keep up. These gestures truly touch our hearts and reflect the deep care and dedication they have for her students.

She has created such a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where my kid feel seen, bonded with, and encouraged. She has a natural ability to connect with children and parents individually, and it shows in how happy and supported our child feels. What stands out most is how genuinely caring and patient she is. We are so grateful for the love, dedication, and positivity she brings. Any child would be lucky to be in her class! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her to move to being a 1st grade teacher!

I'm currently a student here and all the common misconceptions are so very wrong. Many people…read moreconceive that Kennedy is a school for the 'bad' kids, well you are wrong. Coming into this school, I believed what people told me; that this school was filled with gangs, that the students didn't care about college, the teachers didn't care, and that it's overall a bad environment for a student. Now that I am a student here, my view has entirely changed. The students here are working on changing what the public thinks of Kennedy. In the future Kennedy will be a college going school. To be frank, there are people who dress like gangsters, but in reality they act like any other high school student. The AVID program at Kennedy is spearheading the college going culture thanks to Mr. Dave Williams. Kennedy is currently the only AVID certified school in FUSD. For those who don't know what AVID is, it is a program that is designed to give students the tools and the mind thought to get students into Four-year Universities. http://www.tricityvoice.com/articlefiledisplay.php?issue=2011-05-31&file=AVID+++TCV.txt Currently, the Class of 2012 AVID Class has 71 College Acceptances split between 15 students. Not bad. Many of the teachers at Kennedy truly care for the students and they actually want the students to succeed. The only problem is the students' work ethic. Many of the students are smart, but generally very lazy. If parents were more involved in their own child's life, it would better their education, and overall make Kennedy a better place for education. For the time that I've been here, I've felt very safe. It's a very family-like atmosphere here at Kennedy, there are no cliques at all. Everyone is friends with each other. The only downside at Kennedy is that the school is so poor and we do not get enough funding. We are so technologically behind here at Kennedy that it's funny. I really hope that in the future when I have kids, that Kennedy will be rebuilt/remodeled. The school is extremely old and fragile. Overall, I would not hesitate to send any child to this school. You truly have to experience it yourself in the end.

My daughter is a Junior at this school and plays sports, so I have been here a lot. My daughter enjoys her teachers and appreciates the cooking and photography classes offered, but of course! I am less than enthused with the coaches offered for their volleyball program. I shall not go off on a rant here!
