I have enjoyed shopping here since it has opened roughly 16 years ago. They have always had great…read morestaff and the products are usually pretty good quality. I also appreciate the fair return policy, if something is wrong they refund your money and also you can replace the item. They don't give you any grief if you need to return something like Giant Eagle. They have certainly expanded their selection and the quality has always been good. The only issue is that the items come and go just like Trader Joe's. I love the hummus chips that pop up every once in a while, but then they go away quickly. I have always loved the fact that they never use plastic bags, which is very sustainable. It is very good to have them in the neighborhood. Please note: if you park out in the front you will not be able to transport your groceries in a cart out to your car. The store is wired so that the cart gets locked up if you try to leave out of the front door. This can suck if the back parking lot is full.

The selection of products is smaller than what many other grocery stores offer, and the prices are low to moderate. My husband and I shopped at this ALDI in the South Side one time. We saw a decent variety of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, eggs, meats, seafoods, snacks, pantry items, beverages, and other products. My husband commented that the chicken cost less than the chicken at other grocery stores. We purchased several snack foods and beverages for a stay in a nearby hotel. The cashier performed their job well. We did not have to wait in line for long, and the transaction had no errors.

I live in Midtown Towers and this location makes up part of the ground floor so I visit it…read morefrequently. As Midtown Towers doesn't have parking and I don't have a car, grocery shopping is difficult for me and I end up using Seven-11 and CVS far more than I should. The main thing I buy here is pizza. 2 for $9.99 is hard to beat, and if you get them raw to cook at home you can even pay with SNAP. The buffalo chicken is a bit hot for my taste and the cheese is too plain. I get the meat or sometimes the pepperoni. They're all $5.99 or 2 for $9.99. I buy almost everything else at CVS as it's usually cheaper there. But if I'm jonesing for soda after 7 pm, or if CVS doesn't have any on sale that week, I'll buy Coke products at Seven-11 at 2 for $3.33. Not a great price, but a lot better than the nearly $2 CVS charges off sale. The employees are almost always pleasant and helpful but they seem to lack support from the owner with regard to keeping stuff in stock and having sufficient staff for busy periods.

No really - this place has started to treat every paying customer as if they're a criminal. I…read moreunderstand that this area has a lot of undesired activities going on due to the nature of the location but having ridiculous policies and using hired security to enforce them is NOT THE ANSWER. Apparently, no one is allowed to use their cell phone while shopping. That is the newest mandate imposed by this location. God forbid you answer a call or text before you pour your cup of (overpriced) coffee. You will be approached. I swear it felt like an old western saloon scene where the sheriff saw me "breaking the rules" and had to come down and give me a passive aggressive talking to. Disclaimer - most of the clerk staff - they are very helpful and totally cool. But the general manager/owner is another story all together. If she has not yet been sued for harassment - that would be a shock. I feel bad for the staff who has to enforce her whimsical policies. She is obviously at her wit's end if there ever was a beginning. Hitler and Goebbles would have been proud of her determination and use of propaganda though. If you decide this place has everything you are looking for in a convenience store - have your papers ready!

Allentown

I've lived in the neighborhood right around the corner for years now and I've never stopped here…read moreuntil today. I think the signage is just uninviting and the location isn't the most convenient to pull into. One plus, is plenty of parking. It's across the street from Zone 3 police station, so you'll feel safe. Once inside, it's your average city convenience store. Bright florescent lighting, makes you feel like your on display yourself. The shelves are well kept for last minute cooking necessities. The clerk was pleasant, but not overly friendly. Very professional. He could have been the owner, I wonder. It's a nice place to get your candy/Faygo pop/Snyder chip fix. You're in and out in a few minutes. I think I'll mix it up and try you give this local shop a little more business.

They don't even deserve a half of a star! These people will rip you off. They sell disposable vapes…read morethat are imposters. I frequently bought them there until one day I bought one and after one evening of using it the coil started to severely burn my throat. I kindly tried to return it and the man was so rude and acted like it was my fault. I didn't even want my money back! I just wanted to exchange it for a new one. Not only that but my roommate also bought one. The one that she bought was 1500 puffs and mine was 3300 puffs yet both cost $20! Even if the Hyde vape company wouldn't allow them to exchange it, I understand. However, the way I was treated was absolutely unacceptable. It makes me never want to give them any kind of business whatsoever! That is not how you treat a frequent customer! They need to learn how to run a business and treat their customers like valuable people rather than pieces of shit. I'm sorry but I will not ever give them business again and strongly urge everyone else to do the same! There are too many privately owned mini mart stores in Pittsburgh that are probably struggling, especially after Covid, to give people like this your business. I'll give my business to one that actually knows how to treat their customers with kindness! Already too much evil in the world to spend my money here!
